To answer you Jade: we flew out Dec 31 (the night of the 30th) at 1 AM for $109 per person from LAX to DCA. We landed around 10 AM on the 31st, with one connection in Houston. I stayed until Jan 10 with friends and flew straight back to Sacramento (SMF), flying back was more expensive at around $160 for me. Doug went back to Orlando though so his flight was only $62. Prot actually helped me a lot in finding good flight deals too, we searched for a couple days before finally making purchases. Doug and I flew in on Continental and out on Southwest, I know Southwest has a major hub in Vegas but you might have to fly into BWI instead of DCA and see if anyone from the area is willing to give you a ride up, or there's a train you can take (I know DrumUltima can give you details on that). Southwest flights don't show up on sites like travelocity, expedia etc. so you'll have to search for flights on their main site. Unfortunately they aren't booking past August or so of this year so you'll have to wait a couple months to see what kind of deals you can get. Hit me up when the time comes and I am absolutely happy to help you or anyone else find the best deals.

How are those save batteries doing?
starla replied to Avatar of Justice's topic in General Discussion
My FFL3 cart stopped saving and would shut off randomly, so I ended up getting a new one about 3 years ago. I'd had that original cart since the game came out. -
Amy, we'll miss you! I can't blame you since i've been trying to finish an album myself. We will miss your entries, and good luck on your future projects! You are always welcome to OHC Welcome to 2010! Our first OHC will be held on Thursday Jan 7. http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC066

Packing tonight to arrive tomorrow morning :3 see you guys there! -
Alright, so next Thursday is the 17th, which should be doable for most people.. however, the following Thursdays fall on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, so we will be skipping the compos. This means that OHC65 is the last OHC in 2009! Make it count!

This makes me extremely happy, floaty and a little embarassed I love you guys -
Considering this was my goal for 2009 >.> let's do this. I'll buy you one of those turkey club sandwiches at the restaurant in the magfest hotel. edit: also and a beer As for personal goals, i'd like to stop dragging things out and record when people ask me to rather than 3 weeks later Of course any progress for me makes me happy. One of my 2009 goals was to have an OHC every Thursday, which we did except for Thanksgiving. I'd like to be on more projects, and learn more about the solo projects of artists here and in the greater remixing community. I'd also love to do at least one awesome mashup.

Me and Rama will be going, but since I'm flying (going straight to my parents for Christmas afterwards) I won't be able to carpool from norcal :[ I'm looking forward to this event! it's gonna be sooo much fun :3 -
This is absolutely gorgeous. I really enjoy the jam feel of it, I might say masteringwise it may need more high end. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for updates for sure
-
Is there anyone driving up from Florida that has room for both me and Rama in their car? We don't mind splitting gas or driving. We'd be just north of Orlando, it would be amazing to find a ride. Just figured I'd ask If not, is there someones house we can stay at for a couple days after Magfest? Just trying to solidify plans and figure out what tickets I need to get for what dates...

it is zucchini apple bread that is why there is a zucchini and and apples in the picture i'm so in like flynn. i'd rather have monobrow on my team than against her, i've seen her cooking talents in action. sadly i'm not sure if there will be any baking since that requires an oven.

I'm going to rant about MMORPG communities here
starla replied to Arcana's topic in General Discussion
Some servers are just empty or lousy. That's why I play on Illidan <3 If you ever want to give it a start again, just roll horde there and send me a tell so I can get you into the community guild. -
Happy birthday!

Is there a non-video FL Tutorial for dummies?
starla replied to MTPrower's topic in General Discussion
For me, I learned a lot by taking apart the demo songs that came with FL. I would suggest looking at them and figuring out for yourself what makes them tick, and how to recreate them yourself. We also have a forum dedicated to FL Studio http://ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28 -

starla replied to Arcana's topic in General Discussion
For many, the game starts when you hit the level cap. Blizz has been trying to make the levelling process easier and faster so you can get to the good part quicker This makes endgame more accessible to casual players rather than hardcore raiders only. Granted on lousy servers, you won't have as fun of a time unless you're in a guild. We're lucky on Illidan that the average player is expected to have correct gear/gems/enchants or else they will be teased mercilessly-- and expected to perform well. I've played on other servers and I have never had as good as an experience as on Illidan - as far as player skill, competence and lack of downs syndrome goes. When I first played I got to about level 30 and then stopped, since it WAS boring. Blizz is trying to fix that by doing everything they can without giving you free lv80 toons (death knights starting at level 56, 2 different BoA items that give you 10% experience gains, dropping each level exp requirement by 30%, making certain quests require less items to pick up, etc) I'm much happier at lv80 than i was at 70 in BC when it was nearly impossible to get into any raids at all unless you were super geared or guilded. Blizz has done a lot to change that, so that even casual players do get to experience end game content. I will admit that I enjoy levelling characters, but moreso now that I understand how to gear my toons and will keep them pretty twinked throughout the entire levelling process. -

Come roll on Illidan, we have a guild that i run :> All I can really complain about now is resto druids. I've gotten a bit more back into arena, and as much as i qq about every other class, it's resto druids that have always always ALWAYS been op as long as i can remember them. jerks. So, if anyone has an 80 resto druid that wants to do arena 3's with a rogue let me know LOL -
