I'm pretty much in agreement with Jameson; the idea, imo, should be to create a good piece of music and grow as musicians and producers. Some of the rules hinder this a bit I was about to say something about 50/50 source usage since a lot of people seem to take that into account when voting, because this ties in VERY closely with "creating a good piece of music". But, that's nowhere in the rules. It just says the sources need to be integrated well. For my track, for instance, there's more Tengu man than the other source (probably somewhere around 65/35). But I wasn't about to try to force in more of the other for the sake of source usage and completely fuck my own structure. So I think people need to take that into account when voting too - 50/50 isn't in the rules. That being said, it'd be kind of stupid if someone went like, 90/10 or something, but just bear in mind that forcing one source into another when it doesn't want to go is NOT for the better of the piece.

I wish people would realize that the origin stories have been done to death, and I for one want the super hero universe to actually... idk... progress as a cohesive whole rather than "OH, HERE'S HOW BATMAN STARTED OUT, AND HERE'S HOW SUPERMAN STARTED OUT, AND HERE'S HOW THE FLASH STARTED OUT, AND HERE'S HOW THE X-MEN STARTED OUT, AND HERE'S HOW IRON MAN STARTED OUT (though the first Iron Man was excellent and I was fine with it as a first installment), AND HERE'S HOW SPIDER-MAN STARTED OUT *AGAIN*!! SO NOW THAT YOU GUYS KNOW WE CAN HURRY UP AND NEVER DELVE INTO THE COOL STORIES FROM THE COMICS, WHOOO"

But I get what you're saying, ChipWin hasn't been on OCR hardly at all; seems odd, considering the shared interest in video game music/music made from video game sounds

Did you forget what you named the gauntlet? Hahahaha Lol, "Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet" is even in bold in the "About" section, where you're pointing out that you said "Gauntlet Themes" instead of "Wily Castle Themes". Semantics shmemantics

Honestly I'm pretty irritated. It wasn't exactly a twist so much as just straight misleading. I wouldn't mind as much if I liked the source pick better, so hopefully they look up from here... Though still, there are plenty of themes Mega Man related that haven't even been touched yet (which makes me wonder why the Gameboy picks are so taboo for these compos, if we're just gonna say "FUCK IT, DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S MEGA MAN" anyway). Enker, Punk, Ballade, Bass, Dark Man... all great themes that haven't gotten much (if any) coverage EDIT: oh also Hylian Lemon's taking this one

Taking a break from the gazillion things I have to do and covering one of my favorite tracks by TMV. The other is Wax Simulacra, coming soon after this one's done, and I don't really plan on covering anything else unless something comes up, but this has been a ton of fun so far!! It's definitely quite an exercise in chip soundscaping and flair, and I'm learning a ton by studying the phrasing of the original Cover WIP

Basically I'm adopting a "the more the merrier" philosophy; I'm rooming with ectogemia, jehm_faulking, Xarnax42, and Amphibious (I assume, that was our room last year and I know at least two of them are in) for sure, with the possible therex, Theory of N, DaMonz, Jehm's cousin, Shadix... really anyone who wants a cheap room, because the hotel staff don't really check hotel rooms, and if they do they just assume that drunk people crashed together after a party (which is pretty damn accurate) So I guess long story short, if you need a room and want to room with some of the coolest fellas around, shoot me a PM and we can probably work something out. As I mentioned before, the more the merrier (cheaper)!!
