  1. "Stealing music? LOL, this is funny. I could careless if he stole anything -- doujin artists aren't well known no matter where they are at, and his uploading these tracks to YouTube easily gave him and those tracks some fame."

That's what he said in his reply to my comment.

It reaches a new level of derpyness.

  2. Well I'd consider sound design, instrument selection, and all the production work pretty big aspects of creating a song as well (which are all in addition to writing a MIDI arrangement), so I would try to steer away from the exact example you provided. Having someone else do that work doesn't exactly seem right. However, if you just meant having someone render an mp3 for you, then I don't see that as such a big deal. Hopefully you don't have any computer problems!

What if they dictated all the things you'd have to do? The sounds, effects, etc... It would be really really awkward, but if your laptop breaks, that would be an option.

And I can help if you ever need it Rexy.

  3. Okami is the only game I've ever had to abandon halfway through. What a beautiful, entertaining game... great for me and my 7 year old son both... but those digging challenges are a pain in the ass due to the instability of the wiimote when drawing lines and patterns. Halfway through the game, there is a digging challenge you must pass to continue the story (the "Kaguya" challenge). I tried it fifty hundred times with the most miserable failure. I've tried to teach my son about not screaming in frustration at a video game. Had to stop trying this challenge... I wasn't being a good role model anymore. :-|

    I must admit I chuckled.

I hope your son wasn't scarred and became one of those kids who scream in their microphones in CoD :P

  4. Two things come to mind when I listen to this:

Around what is kind of the third part of the main wub part (I'll map a specific spot in your soundcloud) the lead sounds really weird. some note lengths seem to be screwed up, and it confuses my ears when I hear that part. Probably some editing of that part is necessary, but just to fix it.

Also: bring back the drop out when the voice clip drops in. Without the dropout, it doesn't have the same feeling as it would otherwise. The starkness that it had was really good, and I think it should come back. It really accentuates the drop more as well.

  5. I dig where this is going. I'll give some more comments when I get to my good headphones, but I love the glitchy instrumentation in the beginning. Though I do agree that those pauses might not be necessary.

EDIT: After listening in my headphones... mmm that bass :3 it makes me happy inside.

I love the trashy lo-fi-ness of the intro even more now. I still think that the pauses might not be necessary, but I really like this right now. The synths are really nice and glitchy with that meaty bass :3
