  1. Of all of the albums I have discovered here on OCR, I come back to this one surprisingly frequently. Hell, I haven't even played the source games, but I just love how much energy you've put into your performance! When I listen to solo pieces (or in this case, "duet"), I find that piano is usually one of the only ones that can hold my attention, but for some odd reason this is an exception. If I played cello I would immediately want to follow suit, that's for sure! Keep on doing great stuff like this and I might pick it up .
  2. It's nice to hear one of my favorite tracks from P2 in such a new way! Fast-paced and energetic EDM is my favorite in the genre, and I especially enjoy the blips in the background. I think you did really well with a melody that wasn't too prevalent in the original; it doesn't get boring throughout the entire run. In this regard I think the shorter length actually helps you. Great job!
  3. Ah, Stickerbrush Symphony. A favorite of many people worldwide, including myself. As a DnB track, I feel the song fits the gene very nicely. Once it gets going, it's an incredible mix of energy and relaxation, mostly due to the saxophone/fast tempo combo. Fantastic mix!
  4. Your mix makes me want to go out and play Street Fighter. And any song that can make me want to play a game that I suck at is doing a good job, lol. I think my favorite part here is the flawless guitar performances, but the entire piece is fun and high-energy too so IDK really. Great track!
  5. I love a great live mix, and solo piano is one of my favorite genres. It does seem to drag a bit, especially around the 5:00 area/vicinity, but it does get more exciting towards the end. You say you hate recording on a Yamaha Grand, but I see no issues. That could be my untrained ears, but everything sounds great overall!
  6. Diggin that lead at the beginning, and I love the lead at around 3:00. In general the entire piece is high-powered and fun! I love indie game music so discovering this OST thanks to your mix is a bonus.
  7. You say you weren't drunk when writing this, but the melody sure sounds like you were! Of course this isn't really a bad thing, I absolutely love the groovy feel the main piano has. The breakdown at around 1:30 is very groovy, too.
  8. Hey, my Fire Emblem remix album is still waiting on official status, but we have WIPs for all songs and are no longer claiming tracks. No word on the status after I applied back in May.
  9. I'm just surprised/happy that nothing leaked. That was one of the greatest surprises ever, right next to Snake/Sonic's reveal.
  10. Thanks for the WIPs, guys! I'll get some feedback out soon; I've been pretty busy.
  11. Few days left before the check-in! Looking forward to hearing some Fiery Beats™!
  12. Muh double post. So I changed the next check in to November 1st, it would have been October 1st, but I felt that it didn't give people enough time to work off of what they have. I know I've ben super busy, but I have been talking with our artist and working on my own track . Looking forward to seeing what you guys have in about a month!
  13. I'm really close to 290. If you wanna run the raid this week I'm down for it. EDIT: have you gotten the guaranteed 310 exotic from the daily heroic?
  14. Been trying to level light, shouldn't have tried to do it on 2 characters . Nightstalker is so cool, hopefully I'll be up to the standard light soon.
  15. Thanks, saw the email . Have a few things to do then I'll follow up on the feedback. It sounded fatnastic though!
  16. Got Destiny on PS4 a few months ago, getting ttk when it comes out. Haven't done much and I don't have the dlc (yet), but I'm always down to raid or do strikes if anyone wants to. EDIT: Got a 20 Warlock, 24 Titan and 32 Hunter (main, levelling warlock tho). Have a few exotics including Gjallarhorn. Need a group to raid with on PS4 since all my friends have it on xb
  17. Other than this contest, will there be any opportunities to purchase a physical copy? I must say I was extremely disappointed when I missed out during the kickstarter, and would love to have the opportunity.
  18. I've received a few WIPs, I've been in touch with all of you, so I know what the deal is. Looking forward to seeing all of the progress!
  19. I submitted an "in-progress" album to projects@ocremix.org, and I have yet to hear anything back. The exact date I believe was May 13th; I understand that my project, or at least the form I submitted it in, may not be ready for official status, and I also realize that the mods and judges (or whoever evaluates projects) most likely have a lot on their plate. I'm just curious if there is usually this long of a wait to hear feedback, as this is my first excursion in this field. Should I continue to wait? Did I miss something? It isn't an urgent matter to get official status, I was just curious. Thanks!
  20. Bump for WIP 2 check-in! Looking forward to seeing some progress; I have received 1 already, try to get them in in the next few days guys!
  21. The M50x came in the mail today; I am quite impressed with how they sound. After a lot of internal deliberation, I decided to go with the M50x for the great price I got on Amazon Prime. One thing I forgot to mention earlier: I have a massive head (relatively ofc) and pretty big ears, so the fact that the M50x fits over my head and completely over my ears is a big plus. The strong bass is really nice for casual listening too; I haven't tried any mixing/mastering with them yet, but I'm sure they're fine with that too. Thank you so much to everyone who replied! I appreciate it a quite a bit.
  22. I like your way of thinking, and I understand theat dB response isn't the only factor. However I am trying to get a pair of heaphones for mixing AND casual listening. I'm not going to take them to the gym or something like that, but I would like to use them for things other than just mixing/mastering. I believe that all 4 in question have semi-open backs and the price point is also a pretty big deal breaker. However I like that you give the m50x such a glowing review, so that will go into consideration as well. Thanks for all the help everyone! I'm really glad that you all know a lot about all of this topic; without your advice I might have just gone out and bought some beats
  23. Here's what I got:http://graphs.headphone.com/graphCompare.php?graphType=0&graphID Basically it looks like the dt-880's are the clear winner (duh), but the price is much higher than the others. If I am reading this correctly, the k240's perform better in the low range than the m50x's, and the opposite is true for the high range. The sr60's are decent overall, but for the price I think one could do better. Personally I am quite liking the k240's, but I will give it a bit more consideration. EDIT: Fixed errors. Had the wrong ATH headphones in the last pic. The m50x look like it has a great low range and a decent high range, but the k240 looks like it is better overall.
  24. So I'm pretty split between the sr-60i the k240, and the m50x. I feel that the middle ground in this situation between cost versus quality is the k40's. How do you get that comparison chart Timaeus? I would like to get a comparison between the 3, but the k240's or the m50x's sound like the best option.
  25. Great info, both of you. Diggin' the technical info Timaeus! I definitely will try to take that into consideration during the process. Do you perhaps have a recommendation for a similar pair to the DT-880? That's a bit out of my price range. Gonna take a closer look at headphone.com now, thanks!
