  1. Because people have been messaging about tindeck in their country not allowing downloads or something, here's a Youtube Mirror:
  2. Just in case you missed it, I asked for a mod review for this track - http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42196 If you saw it, sorry for this message. ^^; I just wanted to be sure because otherwise it might have gotten lost amongst the other mod reviews that you posted at the same time. Thanks! Your critiques have been really helpful in the past. :D

  3. Mod review, please! :3 Thank you.
  4. This sounds to be in an almost finished state. Really happy with how this all turned out. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, I really need them so that would be great. I'll go for a mod review tonight after I get some basic stuff from everyone else. Hope you all enjoy!
  5. Version 0.3! Had a few sudden bursts of focused inspiration on new ideas for this track, and it's starting to sound like a proper piece of music. Really happy with the piano and harp parts in this one, although there's obviously still a bit of room for progress. Feedback is appreciated!
  6. NEEDS MOAR BASS and possibly a bit of a thicker texture during the guitar solo-y bit. Otherwise, it's sounding really cool. I didn't even realise we were both working on the same track. XD Good luck with this remix!
  7. Re-started work on this, and - with this update - I've decided where I'm going with it. Thanks for the advice, Squall! I went on a viewing frenzy of more of the soundtrack and some of the covers and remixes of this track in particular and it's been quite helpful as I've put more effort into this project. I'll try and slip some Venice Rooftops references in here somewhere as I work.
  8. @Light_of_Aether: Thanks a lot! I tried to work on some of the issues you said, so here's the result! And it's finished! Still might edit it a bit, but I think this is the final product. Some of the panning is a bit bizarre, so I'll try to work on that in future tracks. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  9. Finally another version! Got a lot done on this remix. The current ending is a WIP of course, and I'll be extending this even more to add a few more sections.
  10. @Soul Splint: Thanks a lot! No new sections in this, but there's been a lot of refining of different sections and sound levels and everything's sounding quite a bit cleaner. Still not completely sure where to go next, though.
  11. Thanks a lot! And yes, it is a WIP. Still got quite a long way to go, I think, but it's seems like it's shaping up to be something quite nice. I'm still considering how long I should actually make this, but I suppose I'll think about that properly when I get to the 3/4 minute mark. Thanks for listening!
  12. And finally, the fourth of my four projects this holiday! Definitely the most fun of all of them, this is an absolute blast to work on. Update: And it's finished! Still might edit it a bit, but I think this is the final product. Some of the panning is a bit bizarre, so I'll try to work on that in future tracks. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  13. I'm not really sure. Personally, I was really pleased with this mix, and I've been live-playing (unfortunately with a bit of latency, so quantising is necessary) it in with my velocity-adjusted keyboard and everything. I don't really see a problem with it myself. That said, I'm working on it, and I like this VSTi with this mix so I'm going to stay on like this until I get a finished product.
  14. Working on Piano Duet sheet music for this right now! Hopefully I'll be able to get it authorised by Souleye as being a good transcription/arrangement.
  15. Thanks guys! The problem they had was production/the mechanical feel of the piano. I adjusted some of the velocities slightly (probably still not perfect in that respect, but I seriously have no idea what else I could do) and used a different piano sample that doesn't have the problem the previous one did (mainly the fact that it was fairly static most of the time). I also used some of the newer techniques I've learned since then to remaster and mix the whole thing.
  16. Update 08/12/12! +Different pianos used +Mixing/Mastering fixed +Altered sections After the *NO*, I'm fixing this up for resubmission. Apparently - according to most of the judges - the arrangement was fine, so I've upgraded a few of the issues they had with the sample used and feel of the piano. Submitting for Mod Review just to get a final opinion before I resubmit this for good.
  17. I really don't understand what the problem with the sample. I'm using Pianoteq 4, and I played all of this is in directly with a MIDI keyboard. Pianoteq is pretty expensive for my price range, and there's absolutely no way I'm going to get a higher quality one. D: Does anyone know why it sounds so fake? I'll work on velocity adjusting some of the notes to make it nicer sounding. I'm also thinking of adding a few hints of Positive Force in there as well.
  18. @DaMonz: Thanks for the feedback! The VSTi I'm using is Pianoteq 4 (it's a sampled piano one) so I don't really think I can go much better than what I've got at the moment. ^^; Version 0.3! I think it's very close to be a finished version and nothing is really that much of a problem as much as the last version. Fixed a few areas, added some extra melodic variety to the final part of Potential For Anything, and I think it's sounding quite nice as well. Feedback would be awesome to think about things to change for the finished (or semi-finished) version!
  19. Thanks for the feedback, guys! Glad you enjoyed it! Updated the original description with the details of this update. Not that happy with the new section (Potential for Anything) doesn't really flow as well as the rest) but I'll get rid of it if other people also think it doesn't work so well.
  20. Update 2: Version 0.3! I think this is something like what the final version should sound like. I've tweaked a lot of little things and it's sounding a lot better. Still sounding a bit shoddy in some places, but I fixed up the Potential For Anything section quite a lot and the ending actually feels fairly dynamic as opposed to the static feel it had before. No problems are that large any more and everything is sounding fairly nice. Update 1: Version 0.2! I added Potential for Anything at the end of all of the others as well as making tweaks to different parts of the mix. Overall I'm happy with everything up to the point Potential for Anything comes in. I actually sort of dislike what I did with that, and I'll remove it if anyone thinks it doesn't fit at all. Gonna show this to Souleye tomorrow if I get it ready for that tomorrow. I contacted him and he's already expressed an interest to hear a semi-finished version. Started working on this earlier today and it started to expand a bit so I thought I'd make it into a little something. Listening to the VVVVVV soundtrack through again, I'm definitely going to be finishing this up (hopefully for submission ). In this I've included 'Presenting VVVVVV', 'Pushing Onwards' and 'Pressure Cooker'. I'm also planning to include 'Potential For Anything', 'Predestined Fate', and probably 'Positive Force'.
  21. Update 2! This sounds to be in an almost finished state. Really happy with how this all turned out. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, I really need them so that would be great. I'll go for a mod review tonight after I get some basic stuff from everyone else. Hope you all enjoy! Update 1 Version 0.3! Had a few sudden bursts of focused inspiration on new ideas for this track, and it's starting to sound like a proper piece of music. Really happy with the piano and harp parts in this one, although there's obviously still a bit of room for progress. Feedback is appreciated! I recently finished a LOAD of work, so I'm going to start working on another long project. So here's this! Very basic so far, but still quite different from the original with the greater emphasis on piano and the slight switch around of chords. Not sure where I'm going to go with this, but it's sounding OK so far. ^^ I was also thinking of possibly making this a medley or at the very least a mashup so if anyone has any songs from one of the Assassin's Creed games that sound similar to this track, that would be awesome.
  22. Haven't got the .mp3 yet, but here's the Youtube link. This is actually a remake of all created tracks that I made for an audition to score Gunpoint's soundtrack about a year ago, and I combined them, reorchestrated them for piano, and added a few extra parts throughout the piece. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  23. Sorry to be a bit of a pain, but any idea how my mix is going? :P It's been a while since I had an kind of response of any kind from any of the judges and I just want to know if it's still got a chance or not. ^ ^; Thanks!

  24. Based on a brief for a course I'm taking, here's a fairly basic WIP of a composition I've been working on for a few weeks now. I haven't created an original composition for a while now, and you can probably tell, but it's going pretty well so far and I've almost reached the end of my allocated time that I need to fill (current time is ~2:50, time that I need to fill is 3:00+). It's been pretty much a crash course in terms of orchestration for a large orchestra and it's been quite exciting using instruments I've never used before. This version is incredibly basic on the sound front - it hasn't been mixed, I haven't used proper VSTis at all, and some of it is rough as well. It's a straight export from Sibelius at the moment, so I'll work on a proper sounding version once I have finished the overall structure of the piece. Feedback and critique are really needed for this, so if you have anything to comment on, please do.
