Recording with E-MU 1212m & Patchmix DSP
suzumebachi replied to Drack's topic in Music Composition & Production
omfg. worthless fucking forums. i just spent 45 fucking minutes writing a reply only to have it randomly log me out and lose everything. god damnit. FUCK. anyways to sum this bullshit up USE ASIO suzy's patchmix dsp rulebook: 1) use ASIO 2) don't use windows sound settings 2) use ASIO 3) set up an ASIO output for your software's playback 4) put an ASIO send in your input's strip 5) set up your recording software for ASIO 6) also, use ASIO sorry if this is brief but i don't have the time nor the patience to write all that bullshit again. fuck phpBB. in the ass. piece of shit. GOD. IDIOT. orjdnhuoistdyh8935hy9EIT*()H(*eoiuthnuiefab89(&%Y*#YE*&HAIEUiudfniurg&*(#%#IABIFUbfie(&%*#&%G anyways if you can't figure it out i'll try and help you when i get home (im at school now). (p.s. I have an E-MU 1820M and i've gotten quite used to patchmix DSP. it can work wonders. i seriously suggest you learn to use it properly.) -
i generally save every couple of minutes, and i save a new version after every major edit. and if you ever DO get a weird ass error, save your project to a NEW FILE so you don't corrupt your current work by accident. even if the new file turns out to be corrupt, you still have the old one to work off of. also as far as backup goes, that would be quite cumbersome as i go through probably 2-3 DVD's worth in a week's time. needless to say uploading that on dialup would be ridiculous.

kill me now (guitar problems)
suzumebachi replied to suzumebachi's topic in Music Composition & Production
i just ordered some saddle blocks from www.allparts.com. they also had the pickup ring i needed to fix my LP too, so when that shit arrives i'm back in business. it surprises the hell out of me that warmoth (or any other well known parts shop i can think of) didn't have it. but oh well. --and thanks anyways for the offer snapple Cerrax: i know this sounds stupid, but have you turned up your volume knob? have you tested your amp to make sure it works? have you tried putting your pickup switch in a different position? if none of the above fixes it, then odds are it's probably a short or a loose wire or something. if it is a loose wire, you can most likely fix it yourself in about 2 minutes with a soldering iron. electric guitars are actually super simple when it comes down to the electronics. at most you may have bad pickups (highly unlikely) and those aren't too terribly expensive to replace (and it's definately worth it to replace stock ones anyways). you may just have to clean the pots or replace a switch or a knob or something. -
so i finally got around to restringing my guitar right? (it's an ibanez S470DX). So everything is going fine (blocked the trem in place to keep it at the right angle... floating trem != fun) until i get down to the last two strings.. when i realize the little metal wedges that hold the strings in place on the tremelo are missing. gone. kaput. after several minutes of panic, followed by many hours of frantic searching, i have given up on any hope of ever finding it. so... now what the fuck do i do? i looked at warmoth and the closest thing they sell is locking nuts for original floyd rose trems (which is not what i have-- i've got a shitty Lo-TRS II). so then i looked into a replacement trem ($180-200, way more than i can afford at the moment)... i.. i dunno what to do. i feel like breaking down and crying. you have no idea how badly this sucks. my guitar is thus rent by 2 tiny ass fucking pieces of metal. i don't understand how i could have lost them in the first place. i mean, you normally can't even pull them out if you try. needless to say, i am endlessly confused and frustrated and double locking trems can die DIE DIE DIE DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. also, those who don't know what im talking about, here is an illustration: ok anyways, im going to go eat a cinder block and jump off a really tall bridge. afk.

starting out questions
suzumebachi replied to wintermadness's topic in Music Composition & Production
yes, do NOT mix your tracks using a 5.1 system. or even a 2.1 system. i'd definately recommend even a cheap set of flat-response headphones over a 5.1 system any day of the week. -
mustin? again? shit. also, bump. but mostly shit. oh well. back to dicks. or cocks. or whatever it is fags do. shit.

Using samples from originals in your ReMix
suzumebachi replied to Theowne's topic in Music Composition & Production
that also violates the guidelines ;0 idk, imo, the rules aren't clear cut enough to say that that violates the guidelines. though, what part are you saying it's against? this? no. this: LOLO!Lo1lololl afk -

so like, i guess people know what mhmhmhgsmhmhhm ghghshgghsghsss means now. not yet msmssmsmsmsm fsfsfsfsfsfsf though. i am so late to this thread. -
dude back in high school this girl i knew played a classical guitar that had the bottom kicked out and it still sounded ok. the sustain was shit, but it still sounded respectable.
-
i've always wondered if you could convert a midi CC signal (ie that of a sustain pedal) into an actual midi note. that way you could use your sustain pedal for a kick controller or something. it wouldn't be velocity sensitive, and the action would suck cocks, but if you already have a sustain pedal it's a start.

Pianos more versatile than Guitars??
suzumebachi replied to griffith9's topic in Music Composition & Production
piano? guitar? saying one is more versatile than the other is, in my honest opinion, stupid as hell. no offense. -

suzumebachi replied to Yoozer's topic in Music Composition & Production
that VP-550 looks like it would be fun to play with too. as far as MusicLab goes, I wonder if they'll do a new version of Rhythm'n'Chords, even though it took them long enough to get a Cubase compatible version (still not compatible with Cubase SX). -
ghost wolf is 40%

Smolderthorn/Chuckster/Tauren/Hunter/lvl 60 i haven't been playing much recently. i've kind of lost interest since my guild disbanded. i did start re-rolling alliance on skullcrusher though, so i might get back into it.

so like.. is 1.9 out?
-
lol no kidding. orgrimmar is full of santa gnomes running around having massive snowball fights. i've noticed that snowballs have like a 1% chance of knocking people down. BUT if you're in a party with someone, it knocks them down 100% of the time. pretty hilarious watching a priest try to heal you while you're knocking him down with snowballs how did you ruin it? you need the key to get through the door that Phalanx is guarding after you clear all the pissed off drunkards.
-
so no 1.9. anyways i witnessed one of the coolest threads in WoW history today, and i thought i'd reprise it all for you. It started with: so of course, a few more people got into the act. makes me want to start an OCR christmas poem thread.
-
is 1.9 out yet? also, regarding the dude with teh CD drive problem: reset your bios back to defaults. if that don't work, format. and get a good virus scanner. and if that's a lame attempt at warez in disguise, ROFLMAO ZEDONG and uhh good luck with that kthx.

yeah my brother got a second account and a second phone line so he could play at the same time as me.

all i know is if you're horde, 'D C D' comes out as L O L to allies. and i've seen more than one alliance guy say "U Lo Se" though im not sure what they type to get it. the only other way i know of to communicate is through the gnomish mind control cap and then emoting whatever it is you want to say. i had some 60 warlock do that to me when i was around lvl 35 at nessingwary's camp and he was telling me to get the fuck out of stranglethorn. so i got some guildies to come push his shit in. fun times.
