Big congrats to @Wassup Thunder; well-deserved, my man! Souperion mentioned Contra about your song--that was the other thing I couldn't put my finger on about it, in which it reminded me of, besides stuff like Starship Troopers. xD
Also, noticed a lot of mention about the samples I used in my track.
Yeah... ^^; I was really honing in on that sort of 1970s-80s old sci-fi / action TV show motif. The kinda long-winded (I suppose), majority use of dialogue comes from the entire opening of the 1973 - 1978 show called The Six Million Dollar Man: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Six_Million_Dollar_Man. Most people probably would recognize it more-so from the "waahaaananananana" noise that comes from the bionic stuff he does, which gets parodied a lot in media--like when someone who's uber strong or a cyborg does a punch or kick, and that ends up being the sound effect (ex: was used I think in Metal Gear Solid V when Big Boss uses his cyborg arm to punch people.) TBH I did, before the big cuts, have an idea to incorporate more action noises and sound effects like that into the song, but was worried it'd be "too much SFX"--and it kind of ended up being too much anyways with the dialogue present. xD I'm trying to perfect striking that sweet balance between vox and music, but I guess sometimes that mark gets missed, LOL.
And yes...yup...being the big goofy fan of all the '80s schlock that be, Wassup was right. I did use a RoboCop sample--when Murphy states the 3 (technically 4) main directives as part of his new programming from OCP: 1.) Serve the public trust; 2.) Protect the innocent; 3.) Uphold the law.
    ...I had to put that in there. Turrican reminded me too much of the look, premise and feel of RoboCop not to. Glad that some of the vox samples at least were entertaining though. >.<;
And yeah that was an extremely close round. Thought mine was a bit too on the nose, TBH, but I gladly wanted to commit fully to the synthwave / cyberpunk aesthetic, points be damned. Love the genre too much. xDDD

For me the same, the results are also very close (except for the winner).

    It's results time.
Souperion gets the last place wooden spoon but still got 10 points.
TheVideoGamer got 11 points and gets third place.
TheVodouQueen received 12 points, worth a second place.
And the winner of PRC424 is Wassup Thunder by unanimous decision with 21 points.
Wassup Thunder you are the winner. You may pick a source for PRC426. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your source as fast as you can, but before next Wednesday (31 March 2021), 11:00 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT).
You may select any source from any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links (I recently updated this site):

    My vote's in.
You have no idea how hard that vote was for me.  Having the burden of double points when wanting to give everyone a first place is simply cruel. Good job everyone, great stuff!

This gives me all sorts of ideas. Short, evocative, and full of room for variations! And all I got to go off for names is "Track 8"... Time to Zork.

Oh gosh, thank you!! I completely missed the ending of the compo and the whole voting stage.  A bit much on my mind these days - same reason there's no bonus entry from me. Guess, I was lucky.  But as I stroll through the posts, it seems that timing wasn't only an issue for me.

Thank you for the lovely comments! I'll keep working to try and make this something I can be proud of going forward.
As far as vocals are concerned I really like searching for new vocal packs and goodies. I think primarily I use Heavyocity's Vocalize 1 and 2 and 8dio's Jennie for solo female stuff. For full choirs I use 8dios studio sopranos and Strezov Sampling has a few choirs I like. I think personally I get way more bang for my buck on vocal libraries than anything. There are a few more I want but money is tight and I am not able to really demo things to determine whether it's worth a dive. But yeah Heavyocity's Vocalize series is just gorgeous. Lots of cool pads too which I always like to fiddle with!
    edit:

I forgot these! All of these are super duper fantastic and highly usable. I tweak the settings some, and in my head many times I think I want a certain type of vocal sound. Then if its a legato type phrase I'll mostly try and do it on my own with those patches but if I am feeling somethhing more virtuoso then I just spend some time listening to different presets they have and when one I like stands out, I program it in with timing, filters, etc. I'm a vocalist myself (though I never use my vocals on my tracks lol) so I can imagine a lot of stuff and this helps me get through the plethora of settings I think. You also thhough need some theory knowledge because sometimes I'll play a song in one key but the presets dont have that key. So try to find a nearby key or at least a phrase that can scoot in nicely in whatever given chord progression during the point in the music. Takes some getting used to and maybe not the best workflow but I like it enough!

    The People's Remix Competition 425
    PRCv18-06

Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition!
In PRC423 it was Bundeslang who tried to reverse the results with a backward remix, but the result was miserable and traditional, a fifth and last place. TheVideoGamer got the win, also leaving Souperion, Wassup Thunder and Anachromium behind without glory.

I actually started this awhile ago but never really did anything with it. I guess recently I had some new ideas that came to fruition and I can finally post the first part for feedback. I know the second part will just be the first part but with a more aggressive vibe but I'm unsure how the whole thing will go after that. Hopefully I can do something interesting haha.

Edit: This was asked for resubmission earlier this year by the judges. After some time and thought I finally took back to it and it's almost ready. Asking for a new review before I send it back.

    Welcome to the voting stage
The mixing stage is over. This round has 4 songs. The following people compete against each other:
    Souperion
    Wassup Thunder
    TheVideoGamer
    TheVodouQueen

    To vote, do the following:
Visit http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC424 and listen to all the entries
Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen or click PM.
Fill in the entries from first to third in the ThaSauce form or fill in your top 3.
    State a reasoning for it.
Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. They get a 3 point bonus, but they are not allowed to vote for their own track.
Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results.

You have until Tuesday April 13th 2021 6:59 AM ThaSauce time (11:00 UTC, 12:00 GMT) to vote.
    EDIT: 20 hours extra.
If you vote by PM make sure that your top 3 is clear. I prefer something like this:
    (To)
    (Subject)
    PRC ### Vote
    (Message):
    1: (remixer A )
    2: (remixer B )

I submitted with ONE minute left to spare...
...I really need to stop giving myself a heart attack and little to no time to even put my thoughts together. xD But I think it turned out basically how I wanted it, minus an addition at the end I had an idea for but had to scrap.
