  1. No entries yet. 3 Days Extension. It says round closed but the box is still open to get an entry in.
  2. Congrats APZX! (It looks confusing i know, read above). Next round is up!
  3. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Congratulations to HarlemHeat360 for winning MnP135 and HarlemHeat360 (???) for winning the MnP136 Spooktober Round special! (Wait twice!? How is that possible!?) As a result of the special......which er....i delegated for a bit and ended up awarding the source pick to the runner up, APZX due to the unusual circumstances, which was mostly done out of well fairness. In that round, which involved coming up with whatever spooky you like, whether that was making your own Scary based piece of music, or remixing a Video Game source that is spooky based. It didn't matter what you did, as long as it fitted the themes and ideas around Halloween. HarlemHeat360 moved his/her's source pick to this round, which also contains APZX pick, since he got the choice due to unfortunate circumstances arising from the special. As a result, they both chose their own source for this month's MnP source! Here's HarlemHeat360 said about his/her's pick: "Here ya go. Sorry for the wait" - HarlemHeat360 10/10 for the description there Harlem lol. GAME: Dragon Quest VI (Super Famicom) SOURCE: In The Town VIDEO: And here's what APZX had to say about his pick: "The pick this go around from me is going to E.V.O.: Search for Eden's The Ocean. It is a repetitive track, but with its empty space melodically I think that there is a lot options to expand in some interesting ways if people decide to go that way." - APZX GAME: E.V.O: Search for Eden (SNES) SOURCE: The Ocean Would you look at that? Two Square Enix titles in one round! VIDEO: Deadline: 16th December @ 1PM Closing Date: 18th December @ 1PM Vote Ends: 25th December @ 1PM MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism submit: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP137 MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Rules for Picking a Source: All video game sources are limited to the 6th generation of video game consoles and earlier. This was due to community consensus, where people preferred to remix more retro games, than newer games. 6th generation includes: GameCube, Xbox, PS2 and Dreamcast. I'm now restricting big name franchises (Such as Zelda and Mega-Man) to one source per year. This is to encourage more obscure games, that not many people will know about to be picked. Make sure you provide me both a video and a MIDI of the source in question. Note: This is subject to change. Also keep an eye out, if any special rounds come into fruition. Guidelines: Modifying the Source is fine, so long as it doesn't sound completely separate from its original intent. If you're gonna do a genre change, at least make sure the original aspect of the source is not lost. Tempo changes are fine, as long as it's not a big change. I'm talking like, going from 80bpm to 140bpm. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max), and submitted as a MP3 file. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Try to avoid making quality-based comments on submissions until after the Round is concluded. It is to avoid a Bias in Votes. MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make people's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  4. Results In 1st place with 15 points: HarlemHeat360 (See below) In 2nd place with 10 points: APZX In 3rd place with 7 points: HoboKa In Joint 4th place with 6 points: TheVideoGamer and Souperion And the last place hero with 4 points: Shido Now in this instance HarlemHeat360 has won this round. But the unfortunate part is, that Harlem also won MnP Round 135, so i'm afraid he/she has put me in a predicament. I can't really have 2 sources from the same person for MnP Round 137 so i've decided to let the 2nd place choose the source, essentially letting 2nd place be first place (If you get me) So in that case: APZX please PM me with your source pick for Round 137. Ideally for next week (Roughly the 25th of November) . You will join HarlemHeat360 in a Double Dose round, for MnP Round 137 Thanks! Congrats to everyone who participated, you peeps did great! Comments: Please for the love of god, do not make me have this problem again. That was a stressful 2 weeks lol. Sometimes certain days like to play hell with me..... Also if you're wondering. My results takes in account my vote, which for some reason just wouldn't submit to ThaSauce. It's like there was a problem or something... Thanks all!
  5. If you are wondering a Double Dose round simply means 2 sources for the price of one. Because it's a special round, we essentially drop everything for something new. So receiving a win on Round 135 to be told a special round is in it's place instead is a little be unfair. So their source pick moves along a round. Whoever wins this round also submits a source for 137, alongside the winner of 135. That way both don't get robbed. Now HarlemHeat360 did win both rounds, which is interesting. Now i don't think a Double Dose is necessary if HarlemHeat360 won both rounds, but i will continue it, because it seems like it's a good idea. Now what you've suggested (About 2nd place) is a pretty dope idea, so i'll piggyback and announce the results... Please don't be offended by what i say @HoboKa I'm explaining for those that are confused, and as well to help get clarification for my absence. I'm gonna announce the results, to account for my voting that got stuck in the post lol. I apologise for my absence, i will never leave you hanging!
  6. Hey guys i need to make an announcement: The reason it's taken me so long to get to the results comes down to one problem. I've been having some ThaSauce admin problems, as well as computer problems, so i've been unable to access the compo, used for the results. I've been trying to get this fixed, in the hope i can get the results up as soon as possible, but as you can see it's not going so well. So my absence is trying to get stuff sorted. Now the good news is, i've sorted everything, i can go back to running things up and smoothly. The downside is how long it took for me to get there. If my admin hadn't had worked, i could be here in 3 months time. Now the sad part is, because i took so long, people thought i'd vanished. I hadn't. It was me fixing this crap. So thanks HoboKa for helping me out, although your results are a little off personally. I had made my vote long before the box had closed, but i was having problems with submitting. It just didn't like my vote for some reason. So i had to copy and paste it to a Notepad document, and too figure out why it won't go in. I tried it today, and it works, after much delegating and troubleshooting. For the skeptical: 1. The problems i've been having are real, and i'm super glad i got it sorted. 2. The voting was a real issue, and i was checking to see if i had made any errors in my voting, or if anything had gone wrong. That's sorted. 3. Please be assured, i've made it so it never happens again. Everything is smooth sailing from now on. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
  7. Crap. I was just about to send you the 2 sources right now.... I'd just prepared the MIDI's, (Alongside a busy schedule) and then it ends up being too late... Oh well, i'll send you it anyways, just incase you still need it....
  8. I forgot i won this, wow lol. Source coming your way!
  9. Oh i didn't know i won PRC455? I guess 2 sources for the price of one lol. Source coming your way soon!
  10. Welcome to the Voting Stage! There are 6 entries this round. There is 0 Bonus entry(s) this round There IS no voter bonus this round! Nobody has a vote worth 2x. When Voting, if possible, avoid granting 1:1 covers top spot. MnP requires a bit of remixage after all. Don't vote for Bonus entries please. Do let me know if you have problems voting, and we can sort something out. Try and not make any comments about each entrant until after voting has concluded. Thanks! Participants may not vote for themselves. The winner of this round will join the winner of the last round in a Double Dose for MnP Round 137. Vote ends 9th November 1PM. Vote here: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP136
  11. Lawnmower Man, now that's a good pick, it's got a great soundtrack. Glad it's been sorted anyways, i did think there was something in regards to duplicate sources, and that's when i got a little confused, and began investigating it myself. Looking forward to some submissions
  12. I've just been snooping past rounds (Just to see if i was overimagining it) and i found this: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC379 Turns out my theory is correct. This also happened to be my first ever entry for PRC. Ahhh nostalgia.....
  13. I managed to save it from being 2 entries only
  14. Congrats APZX, that was a lovely submission! Also thanks to Souperion for entering as well, fun round all!
  15. I'm sure what APZX has made will sound great. Can't wait to hear it during voting! Also looking forward to yours as well!
  16. I mean if it more or less has the themes and ideas of Halloween, regardless of interpretation then it's good to go. Looking forward to hearing it, it'll be fun!
  17. I mean i said my point above, but what you've said is also a great point. If it's really spooky and perfect for Halloween go for it!
  18. I mean this is quite an emotional piece, maybe uplifting almost. So turning it into something creepy would sound like a great challenge. Hell i even wrote it on the page: Transforming a piece of music, into something fitting for the Halloween season. As long as it espouses the themes and ideas of Halloween in the piece, i really don't see why not. I'm looking forward to it!
  19. Err....gonna be a party pooper, but i'm sure we had this source before.... I think like 2 years ago?
