  1. Are you joking? The strings are exactly the same. Ya even got the same harp in there. Did you guys even listen to the midi? Nevertheless, my problems were with sound quality as well. No way I'm letting a song with such flaws on ocr.
  2. ROFL!!1 Didn't say the drums fit the song style. They obviously didn't. Scheme is all wrong, nevertheless I like the drumwork and in another context it would have been great. so STFU. Yea, I wasn't at all paying attention at 2:06. sounds like the guy didn't know what chord to use and kinda just hit something.
  3. wow, such a CT intro feel. Hey!!!! Someone who knows how to drum. Good good! Keep going. Dont suck!!! 1:20 still good!! Nothing sucks yet1!!11 Ah, battle theme. Very minimal with a good feel. Bleh.. song didn't go anywhere. No build, nothing but simple loops and minimal orchestration. You must present more to get my yes. NO
  4. Piano sounds really bad. You got too much release. This seems to be a very common problem in remixes. People are just not sure how to work pianos. Gotta follow some basic rules for decent results. Learn about piano pedals and release. Other than that, this song is little more than a floody transcript of the original with a bunch of layered drumloops, so NO Also, dont like the chord/notation at 3:42.
  5. Oh hey! I love this original. Don't mess it up > Whoa, loud kick. Meh, so far, at 2 minutes its exactly the same as the original. Exactly. Looping it again? Missing the lead... NO Cool song, but its the original. Go for a remix/rearrangment. Not just original + drumloop.
  6. Problem I'm having are those bass piano notes. Not aurally pleasing at all. Quite the opposite. Sound quality kills this song. I like the medley, but the SQ needs to redo or this poo gets the NO foo. Look at me!! I'm icecube!!
  7. Pretty cool song. Good arranging from what I can tell. Dont know the originals too well. Looking towards borderline Yes unless someone finds something wrong with it etc. I like the mood it presents. Percussion is rather simple, but does the trick. I'm kinda borderline. YES Will get back to this one. I'm quite uncertain.
  8. spc rip of doom.spc from mystic quest. Cant verify all the other parts of the medley, so no override this time NO Edit: oh wait, I found them all. OK. SPC Rip doom.spc, Battle.spc, Boss.spc NO OVERRIDE
  9. Kinda lo-fi. Sounds like a 22khz rendition. Good arrangement overall. The low-fidelity is way too annoying after 4 listens. Please improve the sample quality. I'm not sure why it sounds like this. You can try EQing some of the instruments. Up the fidelity and I'll yes it. NO
  10. Whats with the life story dude? Hope you're not trying to draw sentiment from us before we review. Tha'da be uncool. As for the song, though its well played, the sample quality is kinda low. Song is rather simple as well. Doesn't ever realy build up. Its like an ambient piano piece. With better piano quality, or instead with better instrumentation I'd have gone with yes, but with neither its NO
  11. You got that right. Lots of excessive release. No pedal control. Drums are nice. Good job there. Is there any bass? If so, I can't hear it. I like the new chords. So the problems; song lacks bass, piano is way floody and the reverb scheme doesn't fit the drums's reverb scheme. Learn about piano pedal. Work out these problems and it would be a yes from me. NO
  12. Is this the guy with all the asses in his signature. Can we get that removed btw? Naked women offend me. Anyway, sound quality sucks naked woman ass, but the arrangement is exactly what this kinda genre entails. I used to listen to this kinda goa/trance shit all the time. Very remeniscient of the tracker days of yore. Very cool song, but up your sample quality. Specifics = drums, bass. Pretty borderline here. Going with yes cause the goa/trance effect is really there. Probably more-so than any other trance song on the site. YES
  13. So, .... the issue here is amateur everything quality. Amateur drums, sequencing, mastering, progression, the whole deal. You really have a long way to go to get there. Check out the links on the 101. NO
  14. hah! This made me chuckle. Its just funny to hear this song in this style. Nevertheless, like binnie mentioned, its a conversion from original to a genre with standard 3/4 to 4/4 changes, no variation, no arrangement, no remixage. This is like something that would intro an acceptable song. However, after 1:00 (intro), it just loops. Should go into something more grand from there on. NO
  15. Super Metroid: Relics of the Chozo - Feedback This thread is for the purposes of feedback and answering questions in regards to the RotC Project. Please post your questions, comments, reviews in this thread. Note: I appologize for the loss of the other thread. It was my fault for not paying attention to how close it was coming to being pruned from Wip. Should have been moved here a long time ago. Relics of the Chozo is a project aimed at producing a collective and collaborative interpretation of the soundtrack of Super Metroid. However, each individual piece, despite being a unique standalone work of its own, is also a part of a larger scheme arranged to create an ambience of continuity; one large song, if you will. The project could be thought of in terms of a progression of events/sentiments/stages of every relevant theme from Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo. 16. High quality samples sound nice, but without any piano skills or understandings of sustain pedals, they end up sounding very fake/amateur. Other than that, this is a rather simplified version of the original + a lame drumloop. Cmon. NO
  17. Nah, its a completely original song that borrows about 5 seconds of notation from the dust man theme. Very good, but not a remix.
  18. strange loop is right. Its a loop. Loops like 16 times I think. There are production issues. That bass needs a compressor. Way too loud. Floods everything. There are audio deformation gaps halfway through the song. Rip this from a cd? Ambience is more than 4 chords playing on a synth with no release for 6 minutes. NO
  19. Somewhat awkward orchestra remix of aeris theme. Pretty much the original progression was followed through a full loop. Lots of high quality instruments that aren't really used too well. Lots of awkward jumpy tempo changes. I'm not too impressed by the chord changes. Makes it into a rather undynamic song. Strings have no release at all, they just cut off. All sounds too manufactured. Take these problems into consideration and resubmit. NO
  20. Guitar is slightly out of tune it seems. Direct cover. Rather horribly out of sync towards the end. Not too well played. Direct covers really have to be something special to be accepted. NO
  21. Nice sample quality. Nice production. Sounds like alternating 2 or 3 drumloops here. Tuff decision. Loops twice. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm. Iduno, swinging towards yes here, but I'm really borderline. YES for now, but I'll come back and reconsider.
  22. Lead is same as original. Later on theres a double lead. New stuff doesn't follow key very well. Bass is very floody and clippy. Song does not improve from original and frankly the original is better. in other words, NO. Interesting try, but you gotta work on your sound quality and general rearrangement skills.
  23. Major mastering problems here. Percussion is sooo damned loud. Song is pretty much the same as the original with no variation and a ton of looping. I think I broke one of my speakers here. Gotta rearrange, not just drums over original. That dont pass. NO
  24. Pretty monotonous. Keeps repeating with the same drumloop for under 3 minutes. Needs: More variation, more length. Little too simple/short a remix here. NO
  25. low Attack really kills the movement in this song. Everythign is slightly delayed. Ugly ugly. Not impressive, very very short. Orchestra is more than just long strings and cool sounding pizzicatos. NO
