  1. Vig is right here. Its a shame, I liked the dnb, and this mix had promise. However, the song simply fell into a chasm of endless repeating, floody bass, and complete lack of respect for melodic theory. And the vincent price michael jackson thing at the end was a BIG NONO!1
  2. Ah, new chords!1 Its interesting, yes, but as Vig put it, rather ameture. Go for a louder lead, less of an attack on the synth chords, more variation on drums and arrangement. The wind/rain sfx are overused. Interesting, but NO
  3. This remix is pretty creative. Does things I wouldn't have ever thought to do. The playing is well enough, and though some parts sound a bit fake (2:05), the piece is still within the bounds of passability (if thats a real word). Very cool. Please make it twice as long next time. YES
  4. Yea, its just repeating and doing nothing. Its also not even similar to the original. This remix simply doesnt... apply. NO
  5. Bassline, drums, lead, hits, strings, all the same exactly with different patches. NO OVERRIDE
  6. If anyone has the file, please link to it as I am not going to make an account. If not, this can sit here. No priority to mixes that require excessive work to aquire.
  7. Note for note with the original. Don't do that. NO Wow, that was quick.
  8. and in cubase? Shit, wrong thread..
  9. Since I researched it, I might as well review it. Interesting way to turn 4/4 into 3/4. At first glance, sounded like another spc rip that bypassed the panel due to elements of ludicrous nostalgia and racial affinity, but such is not the case. This is quite an improvement over the original, with plenty of the good ole remix values: originality, improvisation, rearrangement, and sound quality. Should have been longer. Cool.
  10. This song is the most powerful song I've ever heard. One of my favorites on this site as is Mazedude. All his shit is an inspiration. Just great.
  11. There are some off notes going on here. One at 1:22 and again at 2:49. This song pretty much stays on the same key the whole time. That coupled with the off notes forces me to go NO This song is dying for some variation. Its simply far too repetitive and simple.
  12. wow... excellent. Everything I look for in a remix. Its all there. The judges tend to have higher standards for piano mixes since our piano-arrangement population at OCR is so damned good. This song does not wane in the presence of the others. Its well done. Good job. YES
  13. Ending kinda annoyed me, but this is indeed a solid rearrangement. Good mastering, Good everything. Very enjoyable. Could have used better drumwork. Like I said, ending is weak. YES
  14. Aside from the drumloops (original or not) this song is exactly the same as the original. Interesting ideas, but after all this is a rearrangement/remix site. Not a original+drumloop site (or so we're trying to make it) NO
  15. This song is quite short and very similar (if not the same) to the original. It has a simple beat over it, but no variation, no real rearrangement, no improvements over the original. Furthermore, its quite short and has no real ending. Work on length, variation, and a real ending. NO
  16. Hehe, nice garage activity beat there. Like everything about the percussion. Love the arrangement as well. Changes up quite a bit. Variation on everything. Skills shining through here Nothing to say bad about this one, so YES
  17. Hehe, listened to this one a few times over. Very much like the style. Good arrangement skill. And then.... It takes what it has and repeats some 50 more times. It can easily make one go insane without any procautions. I could imagine this being used in quite an effective form of torture - tie someone down to a bed and repeat this in their ears for 3-4 hours. They'll tell you everything you want to know. Seriously though. Go for more arrangement and less repeating. A key change or something. Please NO
  18. Very Well done. Very cool. Got me laughing. I much enjoyed it. TOO SHORT. I'm sorry, but 1:06 doesn't much cut it as a real song. Go for more length and please resubmit. I liked it. NO
  19. Hmm. There is very little arrangement going on here. Simply original over drumloops. You'll have to do more than that to get on this site. Sorry. NO
  20. Repetitive and similar to the original. However there is a good deal of originality. I'm sorta torn here. Until I can think of a good reason not to, this gets a YES
  21. Hmm... that lead is really ugly. Song has movement though. Repeating a lot though. Please go for more change up. It really doesn't NEED to repeat 4 times to be called a song. You might wanna go for a different lead as well. The chosen is .. quite.. ugly. Kinda ruins the song. NO
  22. at 1:15 and up, its pretty much an nfs rip. Go for more than 'nes with drumloop'. NO
  23. Yea, I know its better than Rob Saunder's version. Nevertheless, its rather identical with the original. Need more of a 'remix' and less of a 'genre change'. There are some volume mastering issues. Around 1:20 and up, the lead is way loud and everything else is flooded out. Work on the mastering and the arrangement quality. Also, go for a better ending. The ending is quite... bad. NO
  24. Hmm... intro is exact with the original. Not a good sign. At :30 still note for note... Chords same, guitar, flutes, piano.......... exact exact. SPC rip. Not cool. NO OVERRIDE
  25. I have no issue with the use of vocals here. Its quite creatively done. Changeups are real nice. Lots of cool drumwork and arrangement. Lots of variation. Issue I have is that most of the song is off key; Expecially the vocals in relation to the rest. Its hard to avoid when using vocals in this nature, I know. Still its a pretty big issue. Please fix the key issues and resubmit. NO EDIT: Changing my vote to a YES after careful reconsideration. It is apparent to me now (though the key issues are still very relevant) that there is really no way to pull off this kind of song with those vocals and not have any flaws. The chorus is singing in exact chords. To prevent key issues, the chords must always be matched about the vocals. This prevents Treth from doing much. He couldn't have done any of the stuff in this song for sure were he trying to keep the key. To deny the talent and creativity of this mix based on sheer lack of ability is quite ridiculous, and not really fair.
