  1. Wow! Pretty creative processing.. No real repetition. I'm likin this. Very creative take on the original. GOOD JORB YES
  2. Percussion is indeed interesting, but thats as far as it goes. The rest is minimal and not very well arranged. Work on better leads and melody. NO
  3. This is pretty good, but that vocal clip at the end hits me the wrong way. I can get used to it though. Nice YES
  4. BAHAHAHA Very nice! Great original, but good way to take it on as well. YES
  5. Adding to what Vig already stated, this song offers nothing more than the original over trance beat. NO
  6. This is A. way too short (1:52) and B. midi rip all the way, save for the limiting drums and a few minor blips here and there. NO
  7. This was pretty damned repetitive. Please resubmit with more going on as I really liked the groove and concept. NO
  8. Piano is very flooded. Lower the release. Wow, theres actual harmony going on here. Lots of original material here. This is a real nice mix!!! Piano flood kills it though. Very annoying to hear those piano chords. Please resubmit with that flaw fixed and you get a YES from me. (Pm me about it) NO
  9. I know both songs involved. This song is quite relevant to both. Very nice rock here We already had a rock song similar to this, but this is quite different. It has the DD3 thing going . Its far more M&M than DD3 VERY NICE :) :) YES
  10. Rully like this idea. Jazz YES! Not real jazz, but close enough. Really like the ideas, but 2:23 is way too short. Make it a 4 minute song and up the sample quality if you can. NO
  11. Really cool ideas presented here, but as vig mentioned, the recording is rather poor. A. better recording. B. Work on doing 4 minutes instead of just 2. C. Work on getting the guitar on the same key as the bass for the beginning and end. NO
  12. Prettymuch the same as the original without much added. Nice synths. Thats about it... NO
  13. Really dig this, but like other trance song submissions, its almost exactly note for note with the original.. I'm pretty borderline on this one.. Unfortunately, the entire second half of the song was devoid of melody. Its also quite short for trance. Make longer, and work on the melodic aspect more. NO
  14. There is a bunch of confused notes here. Lots of off key progressions. Drumloop encompasses whole song. Very loud and instruments are way flooded. Good try, but make your own beats in the future, and work on key. NO
  15. This is an exact midi rip with high quality samples. NO OVERRIDE Original: http://www.zophar.net/zsnes/spc/cvania4.rar 09.spc and 03.SPC
  16. Wow, impressive. Its got everything I like in it. Good arrangement ability. Variation on theme. Soloing. Movement. No significant notation issues/key issues. Real crappy ending though.... Ugh... that... man... why did it have to end like that... I'm gonna try to find the author and see if he can fix the ending. If not, then its still YES
  17. Hmm, this song is indeed the exact same as the original with a few tiny additions - simple beat loop and a pitch bend. MMM counterpoint. Creative, but not very well done. This song desparately needs more variation. NO
  18. The piano's release is too great causing the notes to meld over eachother. Very week in the middle section. The harp leads don't even follow the strings correctly. This song does an excessive amount of repeating. Though there is variation, frankly it isn't very good. As for the rest of the song, its progressive layering. There isn't much changeup, just the layers turning on or off (and sometimes not fitting with eachother at all). The ending is rather weak. NO
  19. Yanni's right again. This is a composition of 4 second layer patterns that are progressively used or not used. This song is dying for a good lead. That would get an instant yes from me. As it stands, its extremely minimal and goes nowhere. Its very much an incomplete song to me. Its the background of a song missing the rest. Please do something with it and resubmit. NO
  20. Yanni is correct. This is exact with the original except in that its slowed down and in swing time. There isn't anything besides that one instrument playing and cruddy percussion. I know the concept is supposed to sound old-radio, but this site is about going forwards, not backwards. NO
  21. A real Baranowsky favorite of mine. This, like many of his pieces, I hear through its entire developement. At first, the sound quality wasn't all that sharp as his samples were pretty bland, but what hit me the most was that even with crappy samples the song still rocked. He broke right through that barrier with the right application of skill and technique. It was a nice advocate for the promotion of skill over sample quality, which is what I'm all about. And now... its the same song with much better samples, so a bonus Very nice.
  22. 1:50, extremely short. Make it longer and try for more variation. NO
  23. This is pretty much the original with a few touchups. The real problem is that hardly more than 2 instruments are ever going at once. Its extremely minimal. Samples are real good, ofcourse. No real percussion element going on. Relying on sample quality isn't enough to make the cut. Go for some rearrangement. NO
  24. Heheh.. lots of themes in here. a... LOT of themes. Its pretty much all the zero themes. I really like the arrangement qualities of this mix. The thing that kills it is the lead guitar sample. Its just nothing like a guitar (not exactly like a duck either, but right in between) There are some times that are rather flooded during this mix like at 2:38. The chords don't work with the lead. I would really like to see this done with a more fitting lead, though the arrangement itself shouldn't be touched much. Its pretty good. Really like the Triangles Samples killed the song as well as a few questionable notation issues. Watch those chords. Please resubmit with the above taken to heart! NO
  25. Drumloop + original melody= Please work on your own beats and try for some actually arrangement and variation on theme instead of note for note carbon copy. There was a little variation towards the beginning, but its gone now. NO
