  1. Okay folks, so tomorrow (Sunday April 12 2009) at 3pm EST I'm going to hold the first PUNCHFEST. A vg music arrangement competition. We're going to be doing it on IRC, channel #punchfest on irc.esper.net. You can enter the channel at any time, but sooner is always better since there will be fantastic antics had. etc etc EVERYONE who enters must compete. Anyone can make music very easily! Quality doesn't matter, just have fun. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- noob - "But snappleman I don't have $10,000 worth of expensive shit to make music on!!" http://famitracker.shoodot.net/ - five minutes to learn, srsly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF WE'RE GONNA PLAY THIS GAME, WE NEED SOME RULES - Theme will be announced the night before. This way you can pick your song. DON'T START WORKING ON IT. - You will have 6 hours to complete your song once we start. Do whatever you want once the thing starts, but when the 6 hour time limit is up (9pm est) you must have submitted something. - You can use anything you want musically. Live instruments, just MIDI, trackers. Just make sure you submit an MP3 file of whatever it is you did. - No minimum song length requirement. - Submission is not anonymous, I mean we're all in that damn IRC channel so we know who's entering anyway.... Judging and Winning - This is more for the sake of improving our abilities to get ideas down than it is to win, but we will collectively pick 3 winners every time. You might even get a PRIZE! That's it. Come in and let's ROCK! TOMORROWS THEME IS: Nintendo DS games! (NO PORTS OF GAMES FROM OTHER CONSOLES) Now choose your songs and wait patiently to ROCK THE FUCK OUT!! P.S. Fuck Easter, this is more important
  2. FUCK. YES. Dynamite Headdy fucking rocks!
  3. I use my DS-10 in my remixes, it's great <3
  4. Well, Cubase is my favourite for everything, and if you're gonna be multitracking then you can't do any better as far as I'm concerned. If by "acquire" you mean illegally download, then you should reconsider seeing as this will be the last piece of help you get from this place.
  5. Thanks! And yes, Jungle Hard will be on the next reel.
  6. That's the problem with the quantity over quality outlook a lot of people seem to have these days when starting projects. This could have very well been cut down to one disc of really good material. The production varies so much from song to song that it just seems like a DoD and not a cohesive album. Still, there's a couple great tracks in here.
  7. Why? It's fucking menu music. Dude, just do the songs people WANT to hear. This mega disc whole soundtrack pluggery is pointless.
  8. I have a pair of the old rokits, they're great. Though, I really miss the KRK V-series... the V8s were my fave of all the monitors.
  9. Well, of course it was gonna come out, that was never the question
  10. I'll say it again, bad idea to open with your strongest track.
  11. Hahahahah, four years, that's just fucked up.
  12. I've been following this project for about 5 years now.
  13. This could come out tomorrow and it still wouldn't be worth the wait (Hell this could have come out 3 years ago and STILL wouldn't have been worth the wait...)
  14. I used to talk to the personality known as GrayLightning for hours daily. Kept hassling him for a photo of himself or ANYTHING. He said he was gonna send me photos of himself when he finally got to the studio in Nebraska. Never heard from him again. He probably just got tired of dealing with all our bullshit and moved on. I mean, if you guys remember, every single problem with the judges panel or OCR in general put him in the center because everyone thought of him as honest and impartial. What if he just got tired of that shit? Or what if the remixer who was using that fake persona got tired of that shit? Either way, could have been Binnie or Prot.
  15. That's a matter of your guitar neck needing straightening. You should be taking it to a luthier for a setup every year (preferably every 6 months). A standard tuneup/setup shouldn't cost you more than $25-40 and it's well worth it. If it was electric I'd advise you do set up the action yourself, but for an acoustic I'd take it to a pro. Just look for guitar techs in your area (if all else fails just go to guitar center.... )
  16. I've been using Cubase 4 for about a year now, and I'm completely happy with it, I'm upgrading to Cubase 5 this month, if it does half of what it claims it can do, then I don't foresee myself needing another DAW for at least 5 years.
  17. Right now the only thing Reaper fails at is MIDI, but its VST support and audio capabilities are utmost
