Hey people! Tis been a long time since I've replied to this thread! I've been busy workin on my songs! Anyway, I've been getting work from everyone, and it's starting to sound better and better! I'm very impressed by how many of you have stepped up and are delivering the goods Eon, that cover looks fantastic! A suggestion though, you should soften the lines on Sonic and Knuckles, blend em into the background a bit, have them in there, but be more subtle. And shit, project Chaos is sounding pretty damn cool. Who knows, we might keep it as the title.

Sorry to say, you'll be terribly dissapointed.

House my friend! It's about time you showed up on OCR. Congrats on making it in here! As for the song, I think it's scrumtralescent! Excellent fusion of styles and sounds. Your guitar playing is furious! Many people here don't really realise how good this man really is. I mean, you hear the track, and you say "Man, that sounds alot like the original." we'll, the only reason alot of the other arrangements of this song sound different, is cuz the players can't play the original at full speed. There's some complicated shit here. house just makes it all look (and sound) completely natural. As for beefs I got, I still say the rain soundeffects sound strange and make the back of my head feel funny. I also think the rhythm guitar tone could have been crunchier. But aside from that, this is pure housethegrate. Every element gives off your style, from the way you play your leads (excellent, by the way), to the lightly processed dfh1... I enjoy this daily, it's great! Now let me go get a towel to clean all this shit off my nose.

Nope. If the WIPs we get both show promise, then the song is locked with both people working on it. It means that there can be no more competing for that track.

It means that there are no more people allowed to chose that track. By the end of this coming week, I hope to have all of the tracks closed off.

Everything will be settled down by mid-late next week. After I get all the WIPs, I'll set final people to the tracks, then the REAL project will start. My goal is to have as few people competing as possible, so that we can narrow it down and not have people wasting their time on tracks they most likely wont win anyway. (may sound a little harsh, but I was never known to be a softee )

HAVE YOUR WIPS READY BY THIS SUNDAY! THe next deadline is coming up. People who don't have any work at this point get kicked off the project. I should also have another good update by then, so check back with this thread! And don't worry about making something epic and spectacular by this weekend. All we want to hear is SOME progress. And most importantly, DO NOT POST FINISHED WORK HERE! Finished work ONLY goes to KFC and I.

Yes, and that's why it took me so long to change the compilation system like that. Voting and teamwork are not the same. We don't want teamwork in voting, that's how the wrong songs get voted on. Friends vote for friends, vote for friends vote for friends blah blah blah. It's more fair to everyone this way.

Also, I'm thinking of something else we might want to consider. I personally would not mind having two of the same song back to back. Meaning, if two competing songs are both REALLY great, why not just use both? There are professional arrangement albums out there which have 2 or 3 versions of the more popular songs on the OST. Why can't we do the same?

As for the people deciding, the people don't know shit. They vote on the most wrong reasons for a song. They'll see Kanjika has 4 mixes on the album, SomeAsshole49 has only one. They'll more likely vote for SomeAsshole49 because of pity, not quality. This has happened in the past, and is prone to happen again. I mean, the decisions by KFC and I wont be 100% final, if there's a strong enough demand for it, we'll hold a vote for a song we've already decided on. But for now, it's all on a non-voting basis.

yes it sucks! Let the people decide what remixes are on the project...i think it would be cool if anyone (any legitimate forum member)could vote for any number of songs. If the people dont decide what mixes are on the project whats the point of releasing this? i dont see how not voting would help quality either. Not voting will help quality cuz I'm a stricter judge of music than almost anyone here at OCR, and even VGmix.

Well, like I said, alot of people wont like it, but it's the best way. With past projects, some of the more experianced musicians, and OCR Judges, felt that a song or two might be better for the album, but, since the popular vote was in favor of the other song, the album had to suffer. There's no way I'm gonna let someones popularity govern how the music for this project will end up. One of the ideas was making the voting "blind", but that would mean that: A) Only me and KFC could get the songs. Killing the teamwork factor. No guarantee that people wont send their songs to friends, killing the annonymity. There's no way to have a 100% fair vote.

I hope everyone has noticed the update I made to the main post. There will be a new method of compiling the finished tracks (different from old projects), so make sure to read that first post often.
