  1. Aren't shredders only made for paper? I never seen one that was big enough to shove a guitar through it.
  2. I like it. Nice melodies and acoustic sounds.
  3. Nasenmann, if I was to say that I want a keyboard with seven zillion sounds; possibly all the sounds and tones in the world, would that defy your theory? I really hope not, because to me, that would be the best thing in the world. I have been restricted in terms of the sounds I could use all my life (using my generic keyboards, using midi sounds on computers), and though I'm still able to make it pretty fun, I've ALWAYS felt that it would be much funner if I could experiment with more sounds (since that would mean there'd be more chances of finding more sounds closer to my tastes, and also lead to more unique experiences). I can't see how having access to 10+ different types of keyboards with different types of sounds/effects instead of just 1 or 2 to be a bad thing. It would lead to more pleasant options to choose from. But this is coming from a guy who thinks Sawtooth Lead (081) is the coolest midi sound.
  4. Who cares. Like Yoozer said, why withhold relevant information from people just because someone's thirst for knowledge is quenched? This is a forum, lots of people visit this place to read and exchange ideas. Discussions of various topics can be interesting to many people.
  5. You can buy stereo microphones (one receiver on each side). You'd be surprised if you just look around stores similar to the ones I've mentioned above.
  6. I bought a portable voice recorder for $80 and it works great, and it fits easily in my pocket (no one even knows it's there). They sell them at just about all Electronics/Computer stores around here (Future Shop, Best Buy, Staples, etc.). They even have some for cheaper too, and alot of mp3 players have built-in voice recorders too. You don't need any special way to send files to your computer, just make sure it has a headphone jack and you can send everything playing to your computer's line-in jack with a simple $3-$5 audio cable. you know that's not such a bad idea...... but what hardware would I need? You don't need anything except a good microphone. Even Sound Recorder can handle the rest.
  7. Woah, I just found the old keyboard my parents bought for me in 1989 on Ebay too... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7375568546&category=47081 http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-39166758-teclado-casio-ct-638-58-otimooo-_JM Haha, I wouldn't recommend buying this one, but here's a sample of what the instruments sound like (I always loved the twinkly SynthEnds ones).
  8. Yeah. I bought my keyboard at Radio Shack for $299 around 1998, and I still use it for just about everything. Now it's selling for $50 on Ebay. Interesting. I think it's pretty fun. If you want to hear how it sounds, I guess you could check out some of my PRC entries (PRCv2-7, ORC32, PRCv2-28, ORC19), or just PM me for some samples.
  9. Probably. Seems to me like old laptops featured alot of things that most newer ones don't. Ever since they started issuing Pentium 3s and 4s, it's been almost impossible for me to even find a laptop with a line-in jack. I've usually ended up finding one after alot of searching, but I'd say only about 1 in 10 laptops nowadays even include that. Thanks for the midi advice Yoozer, I think. I'm using Anvil Studios, Cakewalk Pro Audio, FLStudios 6, Reason 2.5, errr.... and some stuff like that. edit: This "installing the drivers" stuff is what's pissing me off. It never seems to work right. Why can't it detect my USB device correctly? Windows is gay.
  10. I never really "got" how to hook up midi to my laptop. I have a USB midi cable and installed the drivers, but haven't really figured out how to detect what's coming from my midi cable while playing/transfering notes from my keyboard. Doesn't seem to recognize anything when I press Record and stuff, though I'm not even sure if that's what I'm supposed to be doing. Meh (goes back to recording everything to the line-in jack with Sound Recorder). I was able to add some more that have their own instruments, like this one. I'm sure there's probably more out there.
  11. Fixed! (Your 'size 0' tags were on the wrong side bro... I was about to add you to my spam filter)
  12. http://doulifee.com/prc/PrcSong/prc1/PRC1_MythrilNazgul_-_DespairandDread.ogg Maybe we can make a little game out of this...
  13. Are your other 1570 posts as uninformed and idiotic as this one? Definately. You have the Chokster guarantee that your IQ will drop by atleast 10 points after reading each of my posts.
  14. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll start making a sample so you can determine if I qualify. This is going to keep me busy for the rest of the day. edit: Argh. Nevermind my post, keep this track open. I have so many visions for this song, I would love to turn it into the most powerful and emotional thing I've ever made, but I hate signing up for things before I'm finished. That's just the way I am, I guess, I'm better at being secretive until something I do is released. Anyway, I just tried playing this song again on my keyboard for fun, and it turned into one of the most psychotic music experiences I've felt in a long time, so thanks for reminding me how awesome this song is! Haha.
  15. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll start making a sample so you can determine if I qualify. This is going to keep me busy for the rest of the day. P.S. Your ORC38 midi reminds me of quite a few interesting Doom tracks, including that one. Cool stuff.
  16. I have the opposite problem. I keep working and getting more and more money, and have no idea what to do with it. I'm already happy with what I have.
  17. Haha. I don't know, Headgehog Heaven seems ok to me. I don't mind the name Project Chaos, but was thinking a thread title like "Sonic: Project Chaos" would have made more sense and get more people aware; like they have for Doom, Kirby, Dragon Warrior, etc. I didn't know about Chaos Emeralds, I don't read magazines on games when I play them, but alot of games have chaos; so I'd still say it's not a very distinctive title. Most games are about shooting things and blowing things/people up (eg. chaos), so that would only narrow it down to like a million games... right? Sounds like a fun project anyway, can I expect to hear alot of people causing havoc and blowing instruments up in the tracklist? Nice name BTW Rexy. What happends when I run your program? Can I add it to the ascii menu in my batch file?
  18. Why isn't "Sonic" part of the thread title? Who actually associates "Project Chaos" with Sonic automatically? Anyone who likes Sonic probably won't even realize that this thread has anything to do with the game. Though I guess if you're trying to keep the project a secret, this could be a good idea.
  19. Even in a compliment, I dislike you. No problem. What does this have to do with anything though? I was talking about your piano music.
  20. Cool. Just noticed this thread. It's too bad someone already took "Shawn's Got the Shotgun", that's always been one of my favorites. Heh. I think it will be especially interesting to see what EvilHorde does with "The Dave D. Taylor Blues". I guess I could take level 2 or level 4. Not sure which one would a better idea. Level 4 has always struck me as one of the weirdest Doom songs ever, so it might be right up my alley, but on the other hand, to me Level 2 seems like something that would be alot of fun to expand upon; while still retaining the melodies and feel of the original to an extent. That Level 2 song is like a staple in my head from trying to beat that level on Nitemare mode so many times without using the saving feature. Well, I guess if someone decides to take one of those two choices, I can take the other. Or something. Seems like a blast to me.
  21. I usually dislike bladiator piano pieces, but I actually enjoyed this. In my opinion, this is definately a step up from your usual boring/non-inspirational piano crap.
