  1. Except Baccano's got a second season with more eps coming out. And yeah, FMA is a long series. Let's try to stay on topic people. This is not generic-anime-recommendation thread. This is specifically for short series. Let's try to not recommend anything over 24-26 episodes (and even that is pushing it).
  2. We do have an anime thread, so you really should post there... http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14009 On the other hand, this is kind of a specific topic, so I'll let it slide. I'm thinking about killing the Anime thread though, it's just too general. Anyway, check out Black Lagoon. It's 26 episodes, but it's a whole bunch of smaller arcs thrown together without a huge overarching plotline. You can stop after any of the story arcs (though I don't know why you'd want to, it's very good).
  3. The synths in this song are terribly generic, thin and buzzy. There's no depth to the soundscape, no balance between elements. There's also this really weird polyrhythm triplet-vs.-16th-16th-8th going on that doesn't really work. The percussion is very repetitive and generic. Not a fan of the sampled the original game audio the way it's used here; nothing about the instrumental is really locking with the vocals. It's just a lot of syncopated lines with her randomly coming in and out. Not feeling this one at all. NO
  4. No favorites threads allowed. Also, if you're new, post an intro in the newbies forum. And cut the "lordly" attitude. This isn't an RP forum. Welcome to OCR. Locked.
  5. Okay, what? Are you really suggesting they pony up for tons of KILLER ANTS?
  6. Gregor Samsa turned into a cockroach.
  7. Just want to address this: I played trumpet for 8 years in school and played a lot of jazz in high school. I don't perform anymore (haven't done so in 6-7 years), but I do come out of a kind of instrumentalist mindset when it comes to composing. Regardless, thanks for the kind words.
  8. Fixed. The method works in theory, but in practice you'll end up with a lot of weird artifacts.
  9. You can play any of my posted mixes. Just click my sig for my OCR profile.
  10. Sorry, but I just wanted to address this. Piano roll is far more intuitive than staff notation. It's so much easier to visualize intervals and relationships between notes because, well, they're staring you in the face. I can see that a chord is minor by just looking at it, instead of reading what the notes actually are and figuring out where they fall in the diatonic scale (I realize of course that to a trained person, the time saved is a matter of a few seconds, but still). By the same token, when you're composing, you're less likely to confine yourself to the diatonic scale. I hate the term accidental, because it makes it seem like you wrote something you weren't supposed to write. Music can sound a lot more interesting when you branch out from just the 8 notes in a scale.
  11. Moved to the appropriate forum. Try to post things in the right place. We have helpful forum descriptions and titles for each specific section of the forums.
  12. Aaaand none of this really has to do with OCR at all. I don't know why we're distributing botnets and posting information and crap about it here. Lock. Nintendo meant for OoT to be in 3D. If you don't like that, go play ALttP, MC, or 4S.
  13. I love the bit at the end with the "screw the next generation" attitude. RIGHT ON.
  14. Just wanna jump in here and say that this is exactly how people should be asking for help with their amateur game projects: posting information, screenshots, functioning demos, etc. All too often we see posts that are like "hay im workin on a game i dont have nething done yet but i need musix RITE NOW." Pretty neat looking. I'd do music but I don't have any time (and am also greedy).
  15. It still doesn't work even when you spell everything right.
  16. Who's complaining? I'm just answering your question. Descent is not as popular as Sonic or Zelda. More people have played those games than they have Descent. That's just a fact. I'm sure it still has a decent following. A lot of old games still do. I don't get why you're getting defensive. It's not like I'm talking crap about Descent or anything. I'm just giving you a reason why it's not remixed as much here on OCR. We encourage remixes from every platform, but in case you haven't noticed, most of the music here is console-centric, because more people played games on consoles when they were kids than they did on PCs. It's just a result of people's nostalgia. And to be perfectly honest, I really dislike when someone posts a "Why aren't there remixes from <GAME>?!" thread. Can't you people just read the guidelines and post a normal request instead of turning your request into an indignant complaint about artists' song selection? How hard is it to just title your thread "Descent ReMixes Please?" People will remix what they want to remix. If they want to remix Descent, then more power to them. The game had a good soundtrack. But seriously, we can do without the feigned bewilderment.
