  1. ok so we have a tracklist to represent the sections of the overall project and here's what we've come up with

STORY SECTION: GAME AND SONG TITLE: LINK TO ORIGINAL SONG

Intro - Kirby Super Star - Mt. Dedede http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/11Mt.Dedede.spc

Journey to Paradise - Donkey Kong Country 2 - Hot Head Bop http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/dkc2lava.spc

The Temptress - Chrono Cross - Ancient Dragon's Fort http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/ChronoCross124AncientDragonsFort.psf

Rejection and Defeat - Ninja Gaiden - Ken Hayabusa's Sword http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/NG1-Intro2-KenHayabusasSword.spc

The Wise Man - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Kaepora Gaebora http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/LoZ-OoT_20_Kepora_Geboras_Theme.miniusf

Battle vs. The Council - Castlevania 4 - Theme of Simon http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/01.SPC

    Victory! - Waverace 64 - Main Title http://hemophiliac.googlepages.com/01-MainTitle.miniusf

from here what we need are some people to pick up the tracks to arrange and some people to work on lyrics with them to create-win. remember that the story will be reflected in the lyrics and will tell the story throughout the course of the tracks.

oops sorry, forgot to put the links to the original songs before :/

  2. I guess you'll be using a 96kbps mp3 for that one just to make the 6MB limit.

actually i think we've decided to do this as multiple songs, rather then a long medly.

also back to the genre idea, since it's multiple songs; i'm going to leave the individual sound of each track to it's arranger. i originally liked the idea of a classic rock sound, but i think it'd be cool no matter what we get.

  3. ok so here's a general idea of the story:

a young boy is on a journey to paradise, however; to get there he must cross a vast landscape (kind to be decided). along the way he is drawn astray of his goal by a temptress. entering this paradise only comes by a certain manner, and she teaches him the wrong way to enter. so he arrives only to find himself rejected by a council from entering so he leaves defeated.

so our protagonist begins his long journey home.

on the first night of travel, he rests, and during this rest he dreams. he dreams of his older sister telling him he cannot give up. waking up he feels the strength of his sister's resolution and not wanting to disappoint her(for she was the inital reason for leaving for paradise).

with a new strength, our protagonist heads for paradise once again, but gets lost. in his wandering he stumbles upon a mirage/illusion...wherein he finds a wise sage. this sage teaches him the true way to gain access to paradise and the right way to get there.

off the hero goes to paradise, and reaches it that next evening. he gains acceptance through the first gates, but then encounters the council who denied him the first time. wishing to prove his worth he shows them everything he has (insert epic guitar here :D)

ending story resolution open for discussion. :D

  4. ok so me and sammyg are working on the story right now, and we thought it'd be good to get people's opinions on this...

we want to know if you all would like the story to be about OCR and references to it, or would you rather have it be original?

currently we have an idea set for a story, but as far as specifics goes, this will be the deciding factor in which direction it turns, so: thoughts?

  5. Bundeslang said in his comments:

"Hemophiliac - Beautiful beginning, I really get that 100 years ago feeling. The built-up from the song and all the sections are great. The voice is a bit too powerfull, but only a little."

k but wait let's look again...hmm this is unusual.

"Rich Douglas - Beautiful beginning, I really get that 100 years ago feeling. The built-up from the song and all the sections are great. The voice is a bit too powerfull, but only a little."

not like this matters but it bugs me that this is repeated twice, what's the deal? heck he couldn't be talking about my piece in that comment, i mean...what voice?

  6. two things i noticed whilst taking a quick lookthru of the new version.

    under number 3...Acceptable source material

"Sound effects alone are not considered music, and submissions consisting of them will not be accepted."

i assume this means that the whole "remix" would be entirely made of sound effects ala the counterstrike remixes that were removed long ago, not only because there was no music in the games but because these were all sound effects. maybe it would help to clarify this with adding entire to the sentence?

    under number 4...Arrangement

"3. The source material must be identifiable and dominant.

    * Arrangement must not completely modify the source material beyond recognition.

    * The amount of arranged source material must be substantial enough to be recognized."

do the two bullets need to be there, they seem redundant? or am i just not clear to the difference between them?

just a couple things that caught my eye. everything else seems much better then the previous version.

  7. i just checked this for what i usually do and unfortunately i found no option for starcraft.

however, in warcraft3/tft i can go into regedit and edit the "resheight" and "reswidth" info to fit the right resolution i use (1440x900) which is not native in war3/tft normally.

i just checked the same thing for starcraft and couldn't find anything that seemed to be any parameters for resolution. sorry.

  8. I remember reading that Video Games based on movies are allowed to be remixed ONLY if the game itself has its own original soundtrack. So for example, goldeneye was permitted because of its soundtrack.

no no, you've got it backwards, OP had asked about remixes of music from the movies itself.

also to op: did you even go to animeremix? if you had you would've discovered it's not just anime to be remixed. read around there.

  9. I can't see anything out of the ordinary there...and if the problem was there, wouldn't it sound messed up in the project file? Because it sounds fine before I export it. Ugh, I don't know...I finished the song today, and I discovered another problem spot. I had copied the percussion from the problem area and pasted it in another place. The drums don't drop out until the middle of the new problem spot, though...

    Some things to note:

    -Tried exporting to .wav...same result.

-The exporting thing says the song is 3:17, but it actually comes out to be 2:59 (no idea if this means anything).

length being 2:59 when it says 3:17...do you have tempo changes in your song? if you do then FL can't get the right total time of the track...it only gives you what the song would be at based on the first tempo in the song.

also in the section you are referring to dropping out...is it very heavy on your cpu? sometimes samples just drop out for weird reasons when your ram or cpu is maxed out.
