PRC100: It's a Swingin' Web-spinnin' Celebration! (Spider-Man / X-Men) [RESULTS]
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Yeah, the way I see it is that once the contest is over, I will open up the PRC100 post at ThaSauce as if the contest was still going on, and then everyone can submit their entries (or if three people contribute I could submit the other and edit the name field when doing so). The scores will be inputted with no problem, though the votes would be given a transfer to Douli's server given that I feel that I would face the same situation when trying to host the mixes at TS all over again. -

I don't even know if I can find any willing volunteers to be honest. It was hard enough just trying to push through the servers every way possible to try and go beyond one entry online, but in the end, it'll be less hassle to just stick with the OCR PM method. -

Ah, Doulifee; I know you might have been a little angered by the positions of the web files, but the big issue for me was whether your FTP server would be fast enough to get the entries up ready for voting. Sorry if I disturbed you with the move; if I see you on MSN tonight we'll discuss it. The tags have been fixed, however ThaSauce STILL won't let me host more than one entry, even if I use different accounts (must be an IP restriction system, I see; nice work analoq ). I suppose PMs will have to be used for the source of this competition. I'm also willing to add an extra day to the voting to make up for this early hassle. -

Strange, most people said that they didn't tag the Artist field. I'll look into it; it's hard enough trying to host these tracks on ThaSauce anyway, at least at this rate. [EDIT: okay, even if I DO mess around with the artist field, it looks as if ALL operations have to take place outside ThaSauce for this one competition. Not even renaming artist fields at ThaSauce would let me host more than one entry as "Anonymous PRC Contestant". This is getting a little awkward if you know what I mean. o_O] -

Right, the entries are online. However, due to issues with ThaSauce's flood control at the moment, the first few hours of the voting stage will run a little differently. What you should do is listen to the entries and then if you don't wish to wait for the voting to be ready at ThaSauce, you can send me a PM with your vote (the ballot will be added once the vote servers come online). You just pick out three tracks and rank them from first to third. The contestants don't need to put their own entry in as they automatically get a first place vote. You have until Saturday, August 18th at 4:59am EST to submit your vote. If Larry digs the winner's work, they might get acceptance onto Dirge for the Follin. Okay, we've got a good number of entries. I'll be sure to get everything ready in the next couple of hours or so. [EDIT: Well dang. There's some issues relating to flood protection, so unless I find another web host in the next 30 minutes the voting stage might be delayed.] -
PRC100: It's a Swingin' Web-spinnin' Celebration! (Spider-Man / X-Men) [RESULTS]
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
With a few hours to go, we only have one entry. Even if more people chip in and we have enough for a voting stage in time for the actual deadline, I'm not going to be there to set it up anyway due to being out of town for most of tomorrow. An extra 24 hours has been added to the alotted time, so make sure you use it well. -

How would I guess you'd say something like that? That's one of the reasons why I opted for an Anonymous contest this time around, heh. Just out of question, whatif the winning track is one that you would refuse to put on the project? What do you think should I give the winner other than "bragging rights", per se? Thanks for the birthday wishes for yesterday all -
The People's Remix Competition 100 PRCv4-22 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! It's anniversary time once again. Before I start though, who would have thought I'd start a PRC on my birthday? And odder than that, who would have thought I'd kick off PRC100 when I turn 21? But enough about the festiveness for now. For this special PRC event we have a few tricks up our sleeves. I don't have the fundings for any PRC memorabilia at the moment, but we do however have prize potential outside of that. And when there's prizes, there's a twist and a cracking source tune. We will get to the twist when we get to the rules; for now, our source tune provider for PRC100 is from one of OverClocked Remix's senior judges and the bearer of the most colorful pubefro around - Larry "Liontamer" Oji. Are you ready for your source, ladies and gents? Because THIS is what you will be working with. Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge - Spider-Man's Stage MIDI | MP3 | SPC Now what is all this in aid of? Well, I still need confirmation from Larry on whether he's willing to or not, but odds are if you do really well with your track, he might even put you on Dirge of the Follin. It might be seen as a definite prize for the winner, but I still need more thought on that. What I DO have thought on however, is that for one PRC only, this will be an ANONYMOUS CONTEST! That means that the music needs to do all the talking if you need to get up there, and there's two weeks to do it in, so what are you waiting for? And now, I leave you to it. Start using your Spider-senses, people. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or song length, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be emailed to submission@doulifee.com by TUESDAY, AUGUST 14th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. I will upload all entries that are submitted at the Compo ThaSauce link under the artist name "Anonymous PRC Contestant", and will reveal the artists once the contest is over. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.

PRC99: A Follin-Radd Comic Adaptation (Silver Surfer) [RESULTS]
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Time's up! Now, who got out of Mephisto's grasp alive? It's time we braced ourselves for the final conclusion. Total number of votes - 12 Total number of mixes - 4 Highest possible score: 36 Chickenwarlord received another last place wooden spoon with 3 points. Andy Jayne rocked his way to third place with 22 points. Nutritious rode onto second place with 26 points. And the winner of PRC99 is Hylian Lemon with 30 points! Well done on your second PRC win, Ben. You've managed to pull through some intense competition to get this far. Now all you got to do now is figure out a source tune for PRC101. Hurry up, you only have 17 days PRC100 will begin in an hour at the least. I hope you're all ready for what's there, fokes. Be there or be square! -

Suggestions would have been cool, though somehow I'm more leaning in the direction of a prize relating to PRC100's source material, assuming that the source provider would give the green light on it. We'll find out when we start it off at 7AM EST tomorrow. For now, let's go go go - 10 hours remain until THIS PRC's voting stage comes to a close. -

Yeah, I hope PRC100 gets down okay. The only issue is that I'm a little short on a prize for the winner(s), but other than that we're on form. Nice to see you again, Caleb -

The mixing stage was over, and now let's vote. Here's what you need to do - Sign up at ThaSauce if you haven't done so already. At the page for PRC99, select your three preferences and rank them from first to third (Contestants don't need to place their own work in). Write a reasoning to elaborate on your decision. Click "submit vote" and get a birthday present for yours truly by Tuesday (heh jk). You have until Tuesday, July 31st at 5:59AM EST to vote. Because of the special conditions for PRC100, the winner will choose the source for PRC101! OK, thanks for letting me know about that. I had to extend the deadline by about an hour to wait for you, and I'm glad you chipped in. We will begin the voting stage in 45 minutes. -

Well, even though we have a healthy number for the voting stage, I'm still willing to wait for Andy. A file upload error shouldn't really cost anyone a chance for the PRC wooden spoon. -

Whoa, how did that happen? I wonder what the size limit for submissions are at C:TS anyway. I can still help you out, Andy. If you're worried about there not being enough time for a re-encoding, you can send the MP3 to me via the usual email address, I'll give it a go, and hopefully you should be good to do with a PRC entry. -

Larry, I know you're a judge and all, but you're not supposed to post qualitive commentary in the thread until after the voting stage is done and dusted. It's there to prevent any bias/anti-bias during the voting stage, that's all. -

The winner of this round should be able to choose PRC101's source tune. I have plans for PRC100 when it comes to the structure, though I am still stumped on what to reward the winners and who to consult for a source tune. On that latter point, if that fails I might even pick something myself, given that I'm going to turn 21 assuming the PRC gets launched on that day. -

Nice work Lemon I approve of its use for supporting PRC. Odds are I might even borrow some elements of its construction for when I make the banner on Douli's page, if I ever get around to making ANY from PRC88 and upwards. -
The People's Remix Competition 99 PRCv4-21 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC98's Zelda-related competition had the potential to gather attention like its Hylian predecessors, but two entries didn't make it suffice. Regardless, Tensei-San took the win with his first attempt at the competition - a good sized 50s-style incarnation. We're almost at PRC100, which will be major when it comes towards the format. For now, let's wrap up the double figures with some Tim and Geoff Follin action. This tune has previously been used before as the source tune for the recent Dwelling of Duels 'Tornado of Solos', but I don't see anything wrong with it being a PRC tune, right? Silver Surfer - Level Theme 1 NSF (track 1) | MIDI | MP3 I suppose this source tune is fair given the Fantastic Four movie sequel's gathered steam at the Box Office recently. But enough speculation... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted at the Compo ThaSauce link by NEXT SATURDAY, July 28th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. Alternatively, you can also email your submissions over to submission@doulifee.com, though it would also help if you put forward a reminder in the thread. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! PRC98: Time is a Hylian's Virtue (Zelda: Oracle of Ages)

Well it doesn't matter if you want to go for Decap Attack again if you ever win, as long as the source tune for that round (Inventory) is not the source tune. Don't worry about it -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
I haven't seen reelmojo online in ages but yeah, he DEFINITELY needs to keep checking in. PRC was his baby after all; I'm just the adoptive mother. There is something special that I have in mind for PRC100, I can assure you. All I'm missing is a source tune and who to get it from. I failed at getting one from Nineko since he thinks he didn't deserve to give a source tune after the PRC76 fiasco (Decap Attack), so who knows where I should go next, lol. And yes, you send the source tune to my PM box. The sooner it's there, the better prepared I'd be for the next PRC -

Oyeah, I should have thought about that. X_x Sorry about that. If you want to repost your response to each other's works in the thread, you can do that. Anyway, we have results coming through. Who can lift the Master Sword for the longest period of time? Total number of mixes: 2 Total number of votes: 5 Highest possible score: 10 (how generally pathetic, lol) Our winner by an unanimous vote is Tensei-San with 10 points! Another first victory and another unanimous vote for two weeks running. Well done Tensei-San; you've managed to put forth a good effort for your first try at PRC. I suppose now you'll need informing on what kind of source tune to pick for for the next contest. What you should do is go for any kind of source tune, as long as it hasn't been covered on OCR yet (site projects don't count). It can be anything from the most ridiculously obscure (possibly one of your fave C64 games that no one else has ever played, if you have any) to those from a popular game (e.g. Sonic 1 boss). Let me know your choice as soon as possible. Thank you very much and I should see you again tomorrow for PRC99. -
PRC98: Time is a Hylian's Virtue (Zelda: Oracle of Ages)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
I'm sorry, but if either of you two voted, then your votes will have to be erased. When a contestant votes, they will automatically share first place with the first place entry that they vote for. Since they're not allowed to vote for themselves, that cancels their vote out in a two-mix situation and they do absolutely nothing to the final rankings.
