  1. Yeah, I hope PRC100 gets down okay. The only issue is that I'm a little short on a prize for the winner(s), but other than that we're on form. Nice to see you again, Caleb
  2. The mixing stage was over, and now let's vote. Here's what you need to do - Sign up at ThaSauce if you haven't done so already. At the page for PRC99, select your three preferences and rank them from first to third (Contestants don't need to place their own work in). Write a reasoning to elaborate on your decision. Click "submit vote" and get a birthday present for yours truly by Tuesday (heh jk). You have until Tuesday, July 31st at 5:59AM EST to vote. Because of the special conditions for PRC100, the winner will choose the source for PRC101! Andy Jayne - Silver Tainted Rock Chickenwarlord - Ivory Surfer Hylian Lemon - Smaller Silver Surfer Nutritious - Ride the Sky
  3. OK, thanks for letting me know about that. I had to extend the deadline by about an hour to wait for you, and I'm glad you chipped in. We will begin the voting stage in 45 minutes.
  4. I'm still willing to wait, Andy. If you still have problems uploading it yourself, you can still email it to me and I'll give it a go in uploading it.
  5. Well, even though we have a healthy number for the voting stage, I'm still willing to wait for Andy. A file upload error shouldn't really cost anyone a chance for the PRC wooden spoon.
  6. Whoa, how did that happen? I wonder what the size limit for submissions are at C:TS anyway. I can still help you out, Andy. If you're worried about there not being enough time for a re-encoding, you can send the MP3 to me via the usual email address, I'll give it a go, and hopefully you should be good to do with a PRC entry.
  7. Larry, I know you're a judge and all, but you're not supposed to post qualitive commentary in the thread until after the voting stage is done and dusted. It's there to prevent any bias/anti-bias during the voting stage, that's all.
  8. The winner of this round should be able to choose PRC101's source tune. I have plans for PRC100 when it comes to the structure, though I am still stumped on what to reward the winners and who to consult for a source tune. On that latter point, if that fails I might even pick something myself, given that I'm going to turn 21 assuming the PRC gets launched on that day.
  9. Nice work Lemon I approve of its use for supporting PRC. Odds are I might even borrow some elements of its construction for when I make the banner on Douli's page, if I ever get around to making ANY from PRC88 and upwards.
  10. The People's Remix Competition 99 PRCv4-21 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC98's Zelda-related competition had the potential to gather attention like its Hylian predecessors, but two entries didn't make it suffice. Regardless, Tensei-San took the win with his first attempt at the competition - a good sized 50s-style incarnation. We're almost at PRC100, which will be major when it comes towards the format. For now, let's wrap up the double figures with some Tim and Geoff Follin action. This tune has previously been used before as the source tune for the recent Dwelling of Duels 'Tornado of Solos', but I don't see anything wrong with it being a PRC tune, right? Silver Surfer - Level Theme 1 NSF (track 1) | MIDI | MP3 I suppose this source tune is fair given the Fantastic Four movie sequel's gathered steam at the Box Office recently. But enough speculation... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted at the Compo ThaSauce link by NEXT SATURDAY, July 28th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. Alternatively, you can also email your submissions over to submission@doulifee.com, though it would also help if you put forward a reminder in the thread. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.
  11. Well it doesn't matter if you want to go for Decap Attack again if you ever win, as long as the source tune for that round (Inventory) is not the source tune. Don't worry about it
  12. I haven't seen reelmojo online in ages but yeah, he DEFINITELY needs to keep checking in. PRC was his baby after all; I'm just the adoptive mother. There is something special that I have in mind for PRC100, I can assure you. All I'm missing is a source tune and who to get it from. I failed at getting one from Nineko since he thinks he didn't deserve to give a source tune after the PRC76 fiasco (Decap Attack), so who knows where I should go next, lol. And yes, you send the source tune to my PM box. The sooner it's there, the better prepared I'd be for the next PRC
  13. Oyeah, I should have thought about that. X_x Sorry about that. If you want to repost your response to each other's works in the thread, you can do that. Anyway, we have results coming through. Who can lift the Master Sword for the longest period of time? Total number of mixes: 2 Total number of votes: 5 Highest possible score: 10 (how generally pathetic, lol) Our winner by an unanimous vote is Tensei-San with 10 points! Another first victory and another unanimous vote for two weeks running. Well done Tensei-San; you've managed to put forth a good effort for your first try at PRC. I suppose now you'll need informing on what kind of source tune to pick for for the next contest. What you should do is go for any kind of source tune, as long as it hasn't been covered on OCR yet (site projects don't count). It can be anything from the most ridiculously obscure (possibly one of your fave C64 games that no one else has ever played, if you have any) to those from a popular game (e.g. Sonic 1 boss). Let me know your choice as soon as possible. Thank you very much and I should see you again tomorrow for PRC99.
  14. I'm sorry, but if either of you two voted, then your votes will have to be erased. When a contestant votes, they will automatically share first place with the first place entry that they vote for. Since they're not allowed to vote for themselves, that cancels their vote out in a two-mix situation and they do absolutely nothing to the final rankings.
  15. I don't mind advertisements. If anyone wanted to do that, feel free. Either way, the mixing stage has come to a close, and now it's time to do the voting. Here's what you need to do - Sign up there if you haven't done so already. Select which of the two mixes you prefer (obviously the contenders themselves can take a break from voting this week). Write a reasoning to elaborate on your decision. Click "submit vote" and have a happy French Independance Day... providing you didn't miss out last Saturday? You have until Thursday, July 19th at 4:59AM EST to vote. The winner gets to choose the source material for PRC99! Legibles - Chickenwarlord - Clumsy Thieves Tensei-San - Oracle of Shuffle Inellegibles - Hylian Lemon - Remember the Ember
  16. It's still not quite enough for a vote. Odds are we might roll this on for just one more day to get another entry or two in.
  17. You can either email the track to the submissions email on the first post, or you can upload it like a regular entry and I'll take care of the rest.
  18. Well I haven't seen anyone use the WIP forum in the past. Generally, people work on the mixes for PRC and plop them in the thread when they're done, and once the contest is over they could improve on it for the future if they want. By that, I wouldn't advise using the WIP forums for seeking for feedback on your work, though there's nothing wrong with sending private messages to people who could help you out or contacting them over AIM or MSN or whatever.
  19. Yes you can Sometimes I do that to help encourage some source tunes I picked in the past (and by sometimes, I mean only twice, lol).

Legibles - Chickenwarlord - Clumsy Thieves Tensei-San - Oracle of Shuffle Inellegibles - Hylian Lemon - Remember the Ember The People's Remix Competition 98 PRCv4-20 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC97's Pokemon-related contest had an amusing turnout as a result, and from all this we faced a first win from Hylian Lemon who came forth with something rhapsodic in order to take the prize. We are still with the Gameboy in this PRC, and we're going from one popular game franchise to another as well. I bet 50 rupees that we'll get four or more entries on this one; what do you think? Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages - Crescent Moon Island GBS (track 4) | MIDI | MP3 I think we faced enough weirdness when it comes to Zelda coverage through The Music of My Groin, so I'm hoping this compo will go by pretty "normally"... or so I think. Come on, it's Zelda; what do we expect? GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. 21. Voting time is over! I see there's been some quiet yet quantitive voting. Let's see what we can make of the final result. Total number of mixes: 3 Total number of voters: 10 Highest possible score: 30 Deductive Dave swung his way into third place with 14 points. Nutritious just about edged his way into second place with 19 points. And the winner by an unanimous decision is Hylian Lemon with 30 points! Congratulations, Lemon (do I call you that?). You've scored your first PRC victory, and now it's fair that I instruct you on what happens next. What you need to do now is to choose a source material for PRC98 - it can be any song, as long as it hasn't been covered on OCRemix yet (though you CAN do tracks that aren't covered in the official roster of remixes but ARE covered in site projects). Once you've made a decision, send me a PM and I'll start making preparations for the next contest. Thanks very much for your time, everyone. I'll see you again this coming Friday.
  22. The mixing stage is over! And now, it's time to go to the voting stage. All voting will take place at ThaSauce through here. This is what you need to do - Sign up there if you haven't done so already. Select three mixes and rank them from first to third. Write a reasoning to elaborate on your decision. Click "submit vote" and prepare a potential banner for "July is Also Power-Up Month" once again (hey, it can happen, right?) You have until Tuesday, July 3rd at 4:59AM EST to vote. The winner gets to choose the source material for PRC98! Deductive Dave - Tribal Silphs Hylian Lemon - Heroin Addict's Haunted Attic Nutritious - Trancemander
  23. Assuming we get a healthy number of entries by early next Saturday, the voting stage should start immediately after the mixing stage's deadline. I hope that answers your question

Deductive Dave - Tribal Silphs Hylian Lemon - Heroin Addict's Haunted Attic Nutritious - Trancemander The People's Remix Competition 97 PRCv4-19 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC96's BioMetal related compo ended up being the center of one of the compo's strangest competitions yet, and in the midst of all this strangeness, FiremanJoe took his first win with his own Pop Idol brand parody on the source tune. If that wasn't going to be strange enough, this PRC will take us to a game that practically ALL of us must have experienced at some point or other. Love it or hate it, we can't deny that it's a bestseller on the Gameboy, and with a remix project on the way for it as well, we can only wonder what this compo will bring. Still, when it comes to entries, I'm gonna catch 'em all! Pokemon - Silph Co. Red/Blue/Yellow: GBS (track 41) | MIDI | MP3 Fire Red/Leaf Green: GSF (library) | MP3 With that left aside, it's time we got to mixing. Last one to Indigo Plateau's a one-legged Charmander! 25. Chickenwarlord said this and I'll mimic him in return - don't count yourself out. Yes, the purpose of PRC is to recognise songs that haven't been remixed on OCR yet, but that's the thing really. That kind of scope could go around to just about any kind of song, whether it would be a song in a popular game that hasn't received remix coverage yet (e.g. Sonic 1's boss theme) or a song that was in a game that didn't get much attention by the Western gaming public, like the previous five or so (no offence to anyone who loved Rise of the Triad, but before PRC95 I never heard of that game o.O). In other news, the PRC archives at Doulifee's site has been updated. Now I need to get to work on those banners if I can; as I said I haven't done one since 87 >.>
