  1. I'm on my way to fix it. You didn't state the number on the NSF, which made things a little confusing at first. No worries though, let's hope this will be the last blunder this PRC faces >.>
  2. The People's Remix Competition 106 PRCv5-2 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! We didn't face the best of starts for season 5, I must admit, but in the midst of it all Nutritious came to the fore to provide the winning track for the Star Fox related compo. We both apologise for the delay for PRC106 though, as it turns out that he doesn't come online during the weekends. Regardless, he provided a source tune a few hours ago and we're ready to get PRC106 started. Not long after he sent me the source tune, I actually sat down and played the game myself. Seemed really unusual and I dig it, and I'm no sports person! O_o Cyber Stadium Series: Base Wars - Game Theme MP3 | NSF (track 1) OK. Who's ready to try and shoot for a home run in this round? And who's ready to suck so bad they get a strikeout? GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your image to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by NEXT TUESDAY, November 6th at 4:59 am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.
  3. Bah, that didn't do the PRC any favors >.> Oh well... Whichever happens, who escaped from Aquas alive? And who was left to sink with the rest of Slippy Toad's dignity? Total number of mixes - 2 Total number of votes - 5 Highest possible score - 10 (weak!) The winner for PRC105 is Nutritious with 9 points! Well done again, amigo. It was a short turnout but you managed to pull through to make the PRC all worthwhile. You know the drill when it comes to picking the source tune - you send me a PM with your choice and I'll have it up when I receive it. I expect you to have it ready by 12 noon EST tomorrow though. So, this may not have been the best of starts to the new PRC season, but I'm sure something will perk up. I'll see you all next time.
  4. I never realised ThaSauce had downtime, AGAIN. o_O (Thanks for the heads up.) Regardless, due to that I might add an extra 12 hours to the deadline if anything.
  5. OD, THAT'S why I worked on the MIDI for this one as I knew some people could have some trouble with that. Oh well... anyway, we got enough for a voting stage. Sorry if I wasn't there 4 hours ago; seems as if my net connection this morning was all fried up. But enough about that:- It's time to cast your vote. On the ThaSauce competition page (see the first post for the link), you select your choice between the two entries and make a reasoning on it. The contestants don't need to vote this time around as their votes will not make a difference to the final tabulation. The winner of PRC103 (DZComposer) has a vote that counts twice. You have until Friday, October 26th at 4:59AM EST to cast your decision. The winner gets to choose the source tune for PRC106! Chickenwarlord - I'm Amanda's Ex Nutritious - To Those Who Fly
  6. I know you'd have something, but it would annoy me (and to some extent DZComposer) that the sole entry in the entire competition could end up being "WIP level" or something like that. I see it to be a disappointment.
  7. I can't believe this. I put so much effort into creating a MIDI for this one, so it makes the input really shallow. I'll extend this by 48 hours on the hope that we can get more input that way.
  8. The People's Remix Competition 105 PRCv5-1 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! And here's an extended welcome of course, to PRC's fifth year in business. We've seen so many changes over the past 48 months it's amazing, I give you all that now. I'm sure we'll see some fresh and involving advancements coming as we go through yet another season of the competition, and to be frank, we already have something fresh lined up in terms of remix material. But before we get to it, let's recap PRC103 - we had some Mario Kart GBA material to tackle. Pretty ordinary, huh? What we weren't expecting though was DZComposer having a stab at the contest, and though it was his first time, this veteran OCRemixer came to the top with some nice marching band work. And now, we go onto PRC105's source tune. Given that both of his OCR submissions are from this exact same series there's no surprise there, but what IS kind of amazing though is that this is PRC's first ever Nintendo DS source tune! Star Fox Command - Amanda's Theme MIDI | MP3 Man, this brings back memories of the wait of getting that title, and other things in life leaving there to be a six-week delay between purchasing it and actually playing it for the first time. I feel kinda sheepish o_O but anyway... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your image to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by NEXT SUNDAY, October 21st at 4:59 am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. The winner of PRC103 isn't allowed to take part, but their votes will be doubled. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.
  9. Nope, I clearly stated 3:30PM EST. Oddly enough, ThaSauce's PST time system is going to take some while to get used to >.>
  10. Okay, NOW we can cease the competition. Are you all ready for the results and so forth? Total number of mixes - 4 Total number of votes - 6 Highest possible score - 18 Nario received an unanimous last place decision with 5 points. Chickenwarlord upgraded from wooden to metal spoon for third place with 10 points. TheoConfidor got his just desserts for criticising R:TS (just kidding) and achived second place with 12 points. And the winner by another unanimous decision is Alex Smith with 18 points! Nice job, Alex; I'm assuming this is your first PRC win, and a really well timed one at that. As soon as Garian and co hear about the result, they will promptly place it to the R:TS track listings. As I said it may not be much, but I hope it will be of a big aid to you. The delayed start for the voting means that PRC105 will be delayed as well by 24 hours, but not to worry. When it does come around, I am really sure that everyone will be appreciative of the trials of PRC's fifth season, wherever they could go.
  11. Yikes, the PRC isn't over yet! I misread the finishing time for GMT instead of EST! Man, I feel as bad as you for mixing up times, Alex.
  12. Okay, so I was a little side-tracked. It turns out that my brother passed his driving test today, so it seems as if a last-minute meal out was in order. O.o Anyway... So yes, that means that the mixing stage is over. It's time to get to the voting stage. Visit the Competition Link at ThaSauce and fill out the form on the bottom of the page - pick out three mixes and place them from first to third, with a reasoning on your choice. Contestants don't need to place their own works in, as they will automatically get three points for themselves if they vote. You have until Friday, October 12th at 3:30PM EST to cast your vote. The winner gets the promise of a free arbiter's pass to Remix: ThaSauce! Alex Smith - Funky Johnny Chickenwarlord - Arrogance Nario - An Otherworld Awaits Robo Gang Johnny TheoConfidor - Open Mic Night
  13. ThaSauce is generally okay, though if anything it operates at Pacific time (8 hours behind us). We appreciate your prompt chipping of your entry, so expect the polls to open in 40 minutes from now. Also, I still need a PRC105 source tune from DZComposer, though I'm sure that'll come in due time O_o
  14. Alex, Ben is right. We have already had about 11 days to remix this. You're not going paranoid, the competition could actually end in half an hour, though do I expect to have to wait for you as well?
  15. There are 26 PRCs a year (52 weeks divided by the two week duration for each contest). This has been going on for four years now; 26 x 4 = 104. Et viola.
  16. The People's Remix Competition 104 PRCv4-26 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! And this is it peeps, we are at the fourth anniversary! Man, I wonder what reelmojo would think if he saw this compo lasting so long. So yes, having had an entire season under my belt, I can see that PRC faced so many changes in the past year, firstly with the compo preservations (since PRC84 anyway) and the transition to new competition forums, secondly with a transition to using an applet at ThaSauce created by analoq, and thirdly with seeing so many new and old faces plowing on at the compo and providing some polished efforts over the past 12 months. And especially since we're looking at ThaSauce here, they will need an instant way of saying thanks for what they did to help give PRC a bit of a boost start back in May. And so, whoever wins PRC will get their mix an arbiter's pass to Remix: ThaSauce. It may not be much, but at least it's better than bragging rights There were no specifics on source tune provider though; Sir Nuts told me on MSN to go for the most remixed game, and the people on IRC last night clarified which game it was. You saw it coming, lol. Chrono Trigger - Robo Gang Johnny MIDI | MP3 | SPC Well, this is pretty amazing; in spite of it never getting released in PAL territories, it's the most popular game on OCR, so I find that an interesting accomplishment to begin with. And so, let's see if we can make good homage out of this one. Time to get the party poppers out... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your image to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by THE TUESDAY AFTER THE NEXT - October 9th at 4:59 am Eastern US Time. 17. Right, looks as if I had to break it. Oh well, at least we are now ready to advance to the end of it all - the RESULTS. Total number of votes - 7 Total number of mixes - 4 Highest possible score - 21 Chickenwarlord gets yet another last place wooden spoon with 6 points. Nutritous drifted his way to third place with 15 points. Hylian Lemon only just flew ahead to second place with 16 points. And the winner of PRC103 is DZComposer with 17 points! Well done Adan on your first attmept at PRC and a first subsequent win. It's not every day we see march corps around here, and you managed to deliver for the sake of pulling through as the victor. So, the next thing you need to do is to pick a source tune for PRC105 (yes, 104's anniversary edition is going as planned even though I'm not quite prepared for it yet). It can be anything, as long as the song isn't covered on OCR, whether it be a song from a game already covered (e.g. Starfox 64 Zoness) or one from a game not covered yet (e.g. Starfox Command - Krystal's theme). Site projects aren't counted, so tracks like the ending theme for Donkey Kong Country are still fair game. Hurry up with the source tune - you only have until October 12th. And so, as we are about to leave another PRC season behind, the anniversary is starting to swing by. Check back tomorrow to see it in action.
  18. Whichever happens, we have a THREE WAY TIE and the voting will end in 40 minutes (ignore the ThaSauce timer, it seems to be operating on Pacific time for some reason). Who's going to get in and separate them?
  19. How the Hell is he doing that? I thought ThaSauce has got the votes safely guarded O.o
  20. Well, a part of Russia IS in Eastern Europe, but I was looking more at the Scandinavian regions (Norway, Sweden, Finland etc). I don't know which region in Russia Sleepy Emp is from though.
  21. D'oh, I swear someone in the PRC/ORC crowd was from North-Eastern Europe o_O() Now that I think of it, I think I got you mixed up with Cyan for some reason. Oh well...
  22. It's still being used for storage, at least until when VGMix3 comes out. At some point in the next month I will go back in there and clean it out, so trust me on that. Even now I'm currently in the progress of transferring all finished Dragon Quest project files to my computer, so I will have them ready to pass over to whomever would have the guts to take over the project. But anyway, I uploaded Nutritious's entry myself. I can't believe how frustrating that was, but either way, ThaSauce voting is online!
  23. I only did it that way so that we would give Nutritious a chance to host his entry on the servers. Oddly enough, given his scandinavian origins I thought he would have hosted it by now. Theo, I know that the shirts haven't come through. I have everything ready, but money was an issue for some time. The shirts will come, but it'll have to be after I get into employment and receive my first paycheck, which will at least be before the year is out.
  24. It looks as if ThaSauce is back online. Hylian Lemon and Nutritious, please upload your entries to the server ASAP. So yes, that means that the mixing stage is over. It's time to get to the voting stage. While we wait for Ben and Justin to send their finished works to ThaSauce, you will need to PM me your votes for the time being. Regardless, you will need to pick out three mixes and place them from first to third; ThaSauce requires a reasoning, so I won't be any different. Contestants don't need to place their own works in, as they will automatically get three points for themselves if they vote. The winner of PRC102 (TheoConfidor) gets their vote counted twice. You have until Tuesday, September 25th at 4:59AM EST to cast your vote. I still don't know what to do for prizes for PRC104 (hopefully not bragging rights), though suggestions would be nice. If the 4th Anniversary event DOES go down as planned, then the winner of PRC103 will choose the source material for PRC105! Chickenwarlord - Pocketsized Circuit DZComposer - Marching Through Sky Garden Hylian Lemon - I'll Blow Your House Down Nutritious - Good Night Racers
  25. I never knew that ThaSauce acted as one of the FF7 project mirrors; still this is weird, I never thought I'd see this happening to such a major information site. In the event that you can't get it through on ThaSauce, a direct link will have to suffice; I'll then do the old fashioned way of getting the entries on Doulifee's web server and receiving votes by means of PM, although taking in the current voting system to account.
