Steam Trade Offers! Looks like you can send a pre-made trade offer to a friend, and they can choose to accept, decline, or counter-offer.

You don't have to be online or anything for it to work, even.

Hopefully this expands in the future to be allowed public, and to be able to browse open standing offers. Then I wouldn't have to add people to my friends list and actually talk to them. Talking to people is weird.

  5. We've released a mandatory update for TF2. The notes for the update are below. The new version is 1875461.

    -Eric

    --------------------------

    - Added Total War: Rome II "Romevision" promo for Mann vs. Machine mode

    - Updated the localization files

    Server updated and restarted.

Lyrai, that is an awesome list, and that is an awesome thing you did. Many thanks, I'll take a look at compiling a custom night setlist from that.

  6. Extend the "played recently" flag to last for several hours - days, even - and see if that works.

This is not a bad idea, if maybe slightly exaggerated. The "recent maps played" list is populated by the last x maps, not by time, but I see what you're saying. Setting it to 15-20 as opposed to 6(?) could really change things up.

Also, I totally agree with the idea of removing the backwards, rainy, snowy, upside down, inside out variations of existing maps. It's just redundant, unnecessary, and redundant.

On a side note, I'd like to see somewhat regular (weekly?) event nights at some point. I've tossed around the idea of just using admin override to make a set maplist of a bunch of customs, and just ignoring the rtv and mapvotes.

  7. Server Admins:

    Bahamut

    Bark

    Gamemaster

    Regular Admins:

    Brushfire

    ParanoidDrone

    phill

    Plus some others.

'Spose I should step in and clear this up.

Current admin list is as follows (in alphabetical order):

    Bahamut

    Bark

    Brushfire

    Darkesword

    FrostBite

    Gamemaster

    IJ

    kamikaze

    Jaswald

    ParanoidDrone

    phill

    SuperDSombrero

There are two 'tiers' of admin (Bahamut, Bark, Bark, Bark, Gamemaster, and Sombrero have ftp and rcon access), but for most intents and purposes, any of 'em will do.

two people were 1v1ing a little while ago, they got mad at me for being in the server while they were fighting and threatened to ban me

When i questioned how they were going to do that, one of them said "he's an admin"

Now, I'm pretty sure there's no admin for the OCR server named "Snowball"

he then a few moments later apologized to me for being a dick and wanted to trade me, tried to say 6 of my weapons was worth a sollemn vow and a couple crates. I'm no expert at the TF2 economy, but that just sounds like a bad deal all the way around.

If there are any other specific weapons you're after, let us know. I've got quite a few spares myself, and if I don't, I'm sure someone does. Hats and cosmetics will usually run you more, but most people on this server would be willing to hand out a few duplicates at little or no cost.

    Huuuuupdating now.

  12. Hm? It's set up so that arena maps pop up in the rotation just like normal ones.

Oh, woops. Yeah, my mistake. I was looking at the wrong file. Was looking at mapcycle.txt instead of maplist-voting.txt.

Should we take the arena maps off that list, though? It seems that only a few people are ever really interested in playing arena, and it tends to slow down the server a bit. They'd still be up for nomination, but they wouldn't pop up without being called for.

  13. Is it possible we could delete the arena maps off the server? Arena is where fun goes to die in TF2.

Maybe send a group of goons to the house of anyone who tries to vote for it anyway. You know, to make it long-lasting.

Arena maps are NOT on the standard mapcycle. Every time you see an arena map pop up on the vote, it means that someone specifically nominated it.

Every time we play on an arena map, it means a majority of everyone voted for it.

There are... ways... to make arena fun.

I always like reading your plugins, Powerlord. Not everyone properly writes things out clearly and neatly, and the cvars are sometimes just mystery settings. Proper documentation is always appreciated.

As for the plugin itself, I haven't decided what I think about that.

  14. An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

Added a new ConVar cl_first_person_uses_world_model to allow this mode to be used outside of VR mode

Disabled plug-ins that would allow users to connect to secure game servers even when -insecure is specified on the command line

Continued use of such plug-ins will risk your Steam account getting VAC banned

Added support for unloading the displayed URL when the user closes the info panel

Added ConVar sv_motd_unload_on_dismissal to allow server ops to control the default behavior of their MOTD

Fixed a client crash related to doing a changelevel while firing the Minigun

Fixed a bug where you could come out of a teleporter facing the wrong way in VR mode

Fixed a bug with custom fonts not loading for third party HUDs on Linux.

Improved performance and stability for the Linux version

Server updated and restarted. Currently assessing damage to addons and plugins.

    He's dead, Jim.

No wait just kidding, everything seems to be working fine.
