  1. This may not end up happening due to family issues, I'll know for sure by tomorrow night.
  2. This picture is about a year old, but nothing's changed - just visualise more trash and less light: Even the game boxes are in the exact same place.
  3. If you'd like, but I'm not requiring anyone to bring anything.
  4. I'm moving out soon, so this will be the last chance I get to throw a party. Plenty of food will be available, and I'm trying to make this as big as possible, so bring friends. What: Barbecue Where: My house in Timonium, MD. Just off of I-83 exit 25 (I'll give directions to my house via PM.) Also nearby to the Timonium, Timonium Business Park, and Lutherville light rail stops. When: Saturday, May 26th, 3pm until late. I have mattresses available. (Show up as early as noon though.) Who: Good question. So far there are 3 definite guests (plus myself), all personal friends. As far as community people go, that's what this thread is for. Possible: zircon pixietricks Bahamut Definite: Xerol (duh, I'm hosting the thing) As far as food goes I'm ensuring there's plenty to go around and then some; if there's many leftovers I might have another (smaller) one during a weekend in June. This is most likely the last BBQ I'll be hosting, although I may host a small one in July one evening during Otakon (if people are interested). EDIT: This event is also on Facebook.
  5. I will most likely not be coming unless there's something arranged OUTSIDE of the con (like a lunch downtown or something), I'll be living in Delaware by then and need all the cash I can get. However, I can at least provide some advice. There's a Holiday Inn in Timonium (about 15 miles north of downtown) which is about a 5 minute walk from two Light Rail stations. The Light Rail goes directly to the convention center (well, across the street, but pretty much directly) so if you buy a weekly pass (for around $7) you can save at least $200/night on a room. The rooms at the Holiday Inn are around $130-150 a night during that period, so anyone doing room sharing might want to look into that. Even at 2 to a room it's cheaper than downtown. Keep in mind that the Light Rail isn't a bullet train and makes lots of stops, so the only downside is you'll have to leave about an hour earlier than you normally would to get to things on time. Yahoo Travel Link - The picture is of downtown, the hotel itself is about 15 miles north of where that picture was taken. Plus you'll be a mile from my house so if I'm home that weekend we could have a cookout one evening.
  6. A sequel to the solo album5 and group effort of album6, album8 is 9 tracks of FL defaults and 3xOsc. So far, 2 tracks are done, and I'm going to be adding one track a day until it's finished.
  7. I can't make it tonight, my car's taillights don't work (and I got pulled over for it coming home last night, which is a whole story in itself). Pixie: I'll drop the coat off Sunday afternoon, probably some time between 12 and 2.
  8. Good/bad news: I didn't get the job. So I'm still available for the whole day, I just won't have any money.
  9. If I get this new job, I'll be working weekends from 7pm-really late, so I might be able to hang out for a few hours early on, but not after that.
  10. I've been waiting for one with an original theme for a while now, I might jump in on this. Question: FL7 comes with some new samples, are those allowed?
  11. Put me down for maybe. I've got several job interviews lined up and some of them are "flexible" schedules so I don't know for sure if I'll be free or not.
  12. It's in math.h. And for #3, I think it's in string.h, there's an atoi() function that does that for you. Alternately you can write your own, consider that a char is just a 1-byte integer, that holds the integer value of the appropriate ascii character.
  13. You can also make it use your system's synthesizer (or an external midi device, if you have one connected) for MIDI Out channels. Hit F10, pick the device you want to use (in the top box) and set it to port 0 (which is the default for midi out channels).
  14. I'm gonna drop out if I can't find time to play in the next few days or so, but with working 60-some hours a week, I doubt I'll ever have time.
  15. Except it's a really high ratio of useful/used space, and the only way that can happen is if the files are significantly smaller than the sector size. It doesn't really have anything to do with compression, except for certain specific cases (say a 32-bit bitmap that's 32x32, there's 4,096 bytes of data and then a 23-some byte header on top of that, meaning you're wasting over 4,000 bytes per file, so using PNG would save you at least 4k per file in this scenario (I think PNG is guaranteed to come out smaller than BMP at maximum compression)). A 4k cluster size is a good compromise, anything bigger and you'd see a LOT more wasted space (before my HD crash, I had about 150,000 files that were less than 1k in size; an 8k cluster size would've meant 600 megs of wasted space) but smaller cluster sizes slow down access times and on older machines limit the size of a single partition (although I think on current machines you can go up to something like a million TB with a 4k size) and for 99.999% of users you don't need to use anything else.
  16. Harddrives are set up into sectors, and if a file takes up any part of a sector, that entire sector "belongs" to that file. Generally that size is 4k (4,096 bytes) but it can be changed when you format the drive. (Check the size on disk of a shortcut to see the size on your drive.) So, any file less than 4k is going to take up 4k of disk space no matter how small it is, and if you have a folder full of 100 byte files, each of them is going to take up a really high amount of space, proportionally.
  17. When's the deadline for this? I just had to format again and it's probably going to be another few days until I get set up again.
  18. ^One of those was 4:33. Anyway, the PM explanation, explained: [01 February 20:50:28] Xerol: i'm retardedly stupid [01 February 20:50:46] Xerol: Sent to: the-almighty-tallest, vega12, Arek The Absoute, Atmuh [01 February 20:50:49] DarkCecil13: so we just pool like you said with all the people who actually played [01 February 20:50:53] Xerol: notice the lack of an L there [01 February 20:50:58] DarkCecil13: lol [01 February 20:51:17] Xerol: vb doesn't throw an error when you try to multi-PM and just one of the names doesn't exist [01 February 20:51:30] DarkCecil13: fucking retarded of vb So if you wanna play tonight, message me on Hamachi. I dunno if I can play tomorrow night or not.
  19. Would there be time to grab a bite to eat? I get off work a little after 5, and by the time I got down there it would be 6 and I wouldn't've had anything since morning. If not I'll just bag something.
  20. I just played DC, won 3-1, I have to get offline now and probably won't be back on until Tuesday. Maybe sooner if things work out better, I dunno.
  21. I thought I sent you a PM with the first batch of people, back last week, and you were never on AIM and didn't answer me in IRC. Lemme check about that PM.
  22. Same thing with Bren, can't contact him at all.
