This mix is very catchy, and while slightly repetitive at times it keeps things going. I really enjoy the overall style of this mix, and like Saunders said it sounds like the ending theme to a game.
Good job.
Edit: HOLY SHITBALLS, you mean this mix is off the Hero Garden? I've been itching to hear a mix of it forever, and here it was under my nose.

I like this. Very original and dream-like.
I'm not sure how close it is to the original melody though... The Earthbound .RSN doesn't have anything named "A Flash of Memory", and while this does seem vaguely familiar, I can't put my finger on it. Still very good though.
EDIT: Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the intro and ending is Tessie's theme, but the meat of the mix is a different track.

Yup, this song has a real nice feel about it. Short 'n sweet. Catchy too.

Ehm... Sorry to ruin the thread, but...

We don't really need request threads for individual sig makers...

I kinda like this. Sounds just like the title says it is.
You've put some nice, ambient instruments in here. They have that sort of "fantasy" feeling to them. Cool, but you could've built on it a bit faster.
-
Hmm... No reviews... I guess I'll take this one up.
Nines has did his job here, though he could've done it a bit better. Good track to listen to when you're too busy to notice how uneventful it is. Mreh.

Yeah, pretty much what everyone else has said. This mix has a great feel to it. Great guitars and percussion, and the constant noise in the background [guitar on constant reverb?] is very atmospheric.
-
Not bad. Fast and loud, but not something you sit down and listen intently to. Works good as background music for posting on forums.
I definately like the style, and the repetitiveness doesn't bother me much. The main sequence almost sounds like it's coming from all my speakers at the same time, subwoofer included. Nice reverb you put on it too, and the other sounds do their job at keeping this mix too repetitive.
Though, considering that I'm deaf in one ear, my judgement probably won't be as good as that of other people, but you can probably trust me when I say I like it.
EDIT: Nice sig, by the way.

Heh, the intro vocoder reminds me of this one scene from Scary Movie 3... Anyway. I really like this mix, and I like all of your other mixes too, I just didn't realize it until I sorted my playlist by artist.
This has a nice, electronic feel to it. A good download for anyone who likes this kind of stuff.

Even though I've never played this, I had the great fortune of having this appear first on my playlist after shuffling it [and thus just now heard it all the way through for the first time], and I would just like to say that this is truly beautiful.
The intro piano sounds almost watery... Quite enough to wet anyone's pants to,
and the sounds that accompany it are just amazing. The climax is breathtaking, with the bells, violin and quiet bass... This is definately the kind of mix where you just stop whatever you're doing to look at your playlist thinking, "What is this? This is some of the best music I've heard! Whoever made this had better be rich within the next five years, or I am going to stab someone."
In short, excellent job. It's certainly one of my favorites.

Real awesome, professional jazz here. Perfect execution.
Whenever I was younger I had always thought of jazz as being boring, uneventful music; but after listening to several jazz pieces on this site [i.e. AmIEvil's Battle Rocks, and Mazedude's Trippin' on Snails], I learned that jazz was the complete opposite of that. Now I'm interested in getting a lot more jazz...

Thank you Brilliance Redux. And yes, I did mean SIG. I'm not to familiar with tech terms right now. I think I'll stick with the Vash sig for right now.
That's an avatar, not a sig.

Meh, I don't really think it's Brilliance's fault that she got flamed in UnMod. It's more because people there tend to overreact to women being open about their gender and their love for porn. They're just paranoid there.

hi, I'm a noob to this site and remixing in general. yay
Welcome.
Welcome.Well, I'm new. So Hi.I'm not all that new to remixes. I think I'm going to play the cello to some final fantasy song, eventually. That'll be my new project.
Greetings everyone. ** bows in respect ** My name is Shannon, but you can call me by my intended "japanese" nickname, "Shen." I have been visiting OCR since October 2003 and have finally decided to register. I've enjoyed all of the remixes that I've heard (mainly the Street Fighter ones) and would like to get into the remix scene in the future. I'm also interested in making my own video game(s).I hope you don't mind me staying awhile. Thanks for any replies. ** bows in respect, again **
Welcome.

Ah, I really like this. Nice, laid-back jazz. Excellent quality on the performance and recording. I kind of like how everything else behind the sax seems a bit hushed, putting the sax up-front, except for around 3:00-ish where the percussion wakes you up.
Good job on this mix. Definately a keeper.

I CAN INDETERMINE ANYTHING I DAMN WELL WANT, BITCH!
Also, 0>infinity.
-
Methinks OCR has more regulars than n00bs, seeing as how most n00bs have 0 posts, and 0*infinity=0. Therefore, the regs will always have more posts than the n00bs.
Actually, 0*infinity is an indeterminate: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Indeterminate.html
How can it be an indeterminate? There's no infinity to indetermine with, since anything*0=0.

I have come to the conclusion that most people skip over the posts that I make, (except for when I was one of two primary posters in a thread that has long since been deleted)Aww... Don't worry, I still love you Sigma. <3

I think Mythril mistakenly referred to me... Y'see, when I was 6, I was over my little brother in this plastic car I was riding, because I felt like being a jackass.
I gave him a bruise.
[Like this specific story, people will make up things that are completely fake sometimes, particularly in UnMod. Sarcasm is generally very convincing down there.]

Welcome to the OCR forums, Alex. It seems you're enjoying this place well enough. If you need some quality entertainment, be sure to give UnMod a visit. Once you go there, you never go back [to GenDisc, that is].

If you've found a mix you really like, be sure to give it some praise here. Try to explain what you liked about the song, what the mixer did right, ad what you think could be improved. It's always good to give advice along with giving the ReMixer one more reason to show off his ego, so a good review layout would be a lot like this post of mine[/ego]:
"Her Azure Eyes" Review]Ok, just started the song [which is nicely done] over:00:00 - Nice flute intro.
00:06 - Here come the synths.
00:12 - Here's where the trance comes in.
00:19 - You mixed the electronic trance beat perfectly with the flute. Starts going up from there.
00:34 - The flute still blends semalessly. I have to congratulate you on this.
00:59 - I like how you blended some electronic noises in the background there with the flute doing its own thing with the lower-paced melody.
01:04 - Here come the synths again.
01:12 - Perfectly placed break from the happy-go lucky melody...but it'll come back to haunt me...
01:24 - It's coming back from the break very fast, which is a good thing.
01:38 - You took out the flute there for a little bit and put a synth in its place flawlessly.
01:44 - Here comes the flute again.
01:56 - I like the underwater effect you put here.
02:09 - You aded more ambient electronic sounds with a few appearences from the flute.
02:22 - The flute's back as part of the main melody here.
02:48 - An electronic break from the happiness that's been building up. After that, most of the instruments from the song as a whole come back and build up to 03:26. After that, it's like some underwater percussion instrument leading the closing melody.
Overall, this is probably my favorite mix on OCR, even though I never played any games on any Sega system. Very, very happy. The flute is my favorite instrument in this mix.
Again, nicely done. 99%.
Admittedly, I could have elaborated more on the second-to-last paragraph, and the criticism of indicidual parts of this short song makes it seem a lot shorter than it is. I no longer use a rating system because you can't simply rank mixes, since they all have their own special thing that makes it original or great.
These forums are a lot like the WIP boards in that they help a remixer become better. Also remember to always be open-minded; even if you don't like the style a mixer used you can still review it if you think it's well-done for the genre. ESPECIALLY review a mix if it's in a genre you absolutely hate, yet you actually like it. That's because the mix is helping to open up your mind, and the mixers are always happy to hear that.

I'm a big fan of GL's work, and this mix is an excellent example of why.
I've never heard the original, but this is some very high-quality music. Excellent attention was given to percussion and reverb, and a perfect combination of instruments was chosen. This is my favorite of the remixes that have come out over the past few weeks, even surpassing the OCR4 redesign celebratory mixes. Of course, with the stuff that's been on the front page since the redesign, that says a lot about this mix.

One thing to note for Mozilla/FireFox users is that if you change network.http.sendRefererHeader to 0, you trade some functionality elsewhere (like on download sites that check to make sure there's no external linkage) for .jpg/.gif sigs hosted on Geoshitties & AngelFire to work properly.
I've had that set to 0 since... Well, sometime. But I still can't see images on my own site. It works in IE, though I can't get it to work in Firefox.

Personally, I don't care that this is repetitive. I like to put this as my background music when I'm playing Continuum, and it really fits into the game.
This remix is very upbeat, and has two pretty simplistic [though catchy] main chiptunes [i guess that's what you call them] accompanied mostly by a reverberating techno background.
I'd have to say that minimalism is underrated in music sometimes, and this is a good example of that. Definately worth a listen.
