This is for whoever is looking for a decent piano module. It's a VSTi plug-in , not a soundfont (sorry for posting it in a sample/soundfont thread ). It's around 7 megs ( and that's just for the piano). It's a multi-sampled 4 front piano module. It also consumes very little CPU , and it's free!. Here's where you can find it: http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/597.html I know it's not a soundfont, but some host applications support VST as well as soundfonts , so it might still come in handy.

But then you wouldn't get the desired loudness. And frequencies that would have clipped will still sound muddy/fizzy , but just be less present , right?

Compression.Limiting. Normalizing. Parametric equalization. Master volume if all else fails , which is almost never the case. It's all in the way you tweak your levels. Insted of boosting frequencies you want , you can cut the ones you don't want , then bring everything back to unity gain. Tweak each channel seperately. Give each instrument it's own effects channel. Never , ever , ever let that bar thing flash red. *Summons Xelebes/Compyfox or equivalent in hopes that they can offer more extensive help*

Maybe this was already mentioned before ( I haven't had the chance to read all 80-somethin pages ) but my hardest boss of all time was Maya from ParasiteEve in the Chrysler Building.

I enjoyed it. It has the whole island thing going. I like the panning in the intro percussion. At first I thought the shakers were too far , but then I noticed how well it blended with what followed. It's something that I can listen to on a regular basis . BTW-ScorchioHeldForRansom, your font color's killing my eyes.

I have a quick question . When exporting a wav file from Fruity Loops , what would be the best bitrate and depth to convert with? Also , what would be the best sampler interpolation to render a wav between Linear , 6-point hermite or the other available options. I would assume that more is better , but does it really make that much a difference? THX in advance.

I think it's cute. Even for hip-hop ( if you can call it that..).

I think it's swell. Excellent variation with the piano solo. Would have enjoyed some ambient features like choir vocals or a string ensemble but as a stand-alone piano remix , it works very well. It almost made me cry Klutz now has some competition..

I enjoy most of Project X's mixes. The only negative aspect about their work is the guitars. A little less presence(or top end) and some better amp modeling would be nice.

Buddy, for a 'decent' electric guitar you could pay anywhere from 500$-4000$ (US). If you're REALLY interested in an elecric guitar , I would suggest either a Shecter Diamond Series A7 7-string (Great for that low-end Korn-ish tone) or an ESP LTD7 (same as Stephen Carpenter from Deftones). I'd personally go for the LTD7 (excellent humbuckers) cuz the Shecter (even though the sound is beautiful) is p r e t t y heavyweight(not good for live shows). Check out their web pages or visit your local retailer for more accurate specs on these (and many other) fine stringed instruments. BTW, you should have posted this as a new topic in ReMixing101, it would been answered faster and (probably) by someone with more info then what I can give you.
