  1. CursedByFire: I'll talk to bahamut and we'll decide whther we want you to do the album art sometime in the next few days. In the meantime, please don't post further ideas here -- send them to me and/or bahamut. We want the album art to be a surprise when the project comes out.
  2. So I've started doing my planches on rings instead of p-bars or pommel horse; they're definitely harder, and I'm noticing huge improvements in the stability of my planches and malteses already. Haven't been doing crosses enough this week, so I did a bunch today, and I'll probably do a bunch more before I leave tonight.
  3. NASTIA AND SHAWN!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! lowercase
  4. It's not dead; it was never alive to begin with. The project was an april fools joke that keeps getting bumped for some unknown reason.
  5. That would be me and bahamut. We haven't settled on a title or anything yet. Do you have a portfolio we can take a look at?
  6. Here's a cut version of the track "The Battle" from Gladiator: http://www.geoffreytaucer.com/randomstuff/Battle.mp3 Thoughts?
  7. What was the difference in scores? (I didn't stay up to check the final results) Alicia's falls cost the team 1.6. If China won by more than that, they would have won anyway.
  8. I've been slacking off way too much on flexibility. FOr awhile, my splits were getting close, but I'm losing them again. I'll have to work harder on that. My planches, malteses, and crosses continue to improve. My inverted cross is inconsistent, but not bad when I hit it.
  9. GOOOO SASHAAAAAAAAAA ARTEMEV SAVES THE DAY! USA BRONZE! That was fucking intense.
  10. I think it's completely fair for us to ask for proof of solid progress on the game before writing something for it.
  11. Holy shit, did you see Artemev's pommel horse routine last night? That was beautiful. And Spring's high bar routine was insane.
  12. I will of course be watching gymnastics closely. Men's gymnastics won't be particularly suspenseful, at least not in the team competition. China will win the Team Gold. Chen Yibing will win Gold on rings, Xiao Qin on pommel horse, and Li Xiaopeng on p-bars. Floor, highbar, and vault are still up in the air, I guess. The women's side, however, will probably be very close, between China and the US.
  13. Aside from an amazing vault workout on tuesday, this hasn't been a very good week for me. Haven't been getting enough sleep, and my training has suffered as a result. I'm taking the day off tomorrow to try to catch up on all the sleep I've missed. EDIT: Check this out. Chen Yibing's new rings routine. His first skill is un-fucking-believable. PNKHe4UkaMc
  14. We're talking about girls between 7 and 9 years old. Of course cutesy is done a lot. These are all far too mature for any of my girls. Some of these would work well for a college gymnast, but the oldest girl I need routine music for right now is 12. These aren't quite energetic enough for a routine. They would work well for dance, but not for tumbling. Been awhile since I've heard any of these. I'll take a look. Audio fidelity: the first three are two mellow, but I'll run Rikku's theme by the other coaches. Might be a little too fast-paced, but we'll see what everybody else thinks.
  15. It's that time of year again, the time when I need to find music for my girls to do their floor routines to. I'll take suggestions from you guys if you have them, and if I end up using music that you wrote/arranged, I'll do my best to get a video of the routine and send it your way. One main requirement: NO VOCALS. None at all. Not even oohs and aahs. Here's what I'm looking for: 1. Orchestral + electronic beat. Think along the lines of the theme from MGS. 2. Cute, bouncy music. Think Marry Poppins (in fact if you can tell me where to find non-vocals versions of the music from mary poppins, that would be great) 3. Disney movie music, or music in that style. And I mean old disney, not shitty hannah montanna shitty disney pop. Aladdin, Jungle Book, etc. If anybody can tell me where to find non-vocal versions of disney music (that isn't just a shitty midi render), I would greatly appreciate it.
  16. I did, but it was on a bad day, so it didn't look as good as I'd like it to. I'm going to film again sometime soon, and hopefully get a good clean routine where I hit all the strength holds.
  17. I'll be sharing a room with ToN. Haven't decided yet if we're going to add anybody else.
  18. AHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!! Had an amazing vault workout this morning; for the first time, I STUCK a couple of Tsukahara double-backs. I've done them before, but always landed on my face, but today I stuck two of them on my feet. Then, after taking a break, started working on yurchenkos -- a fairly new vault for me -- and I'm making HUGE progress on those. My hope is to eventually be able to twist the yurchenko, preferably at least a doublefull. Right now, I'm basically feeling completely invincible, which means I should probably call it a day before I do something idiotic. For reference, here's a Tsuk double back: qXw2vQLXUGw And here's a Yurchenko: qDWenQcyOV0
  19. Toejammin' Dunno kokoro that well, but I'd love to do just about anything from Xenogears, Chrono Cross, or Chrono Trigger. It would be great if we could throw together a full celtic ensemble. (I'm hoping Darangen, Level 99, and Luiza will all show up again this year, so we can do more acoustic jammin' like the last couple years.)
  20. Having a pretty decent last couple of days. Last week, I couldn't hit planches to save my life, and now all of a sudden my planches are amazing. Did a couple of decent rings routines today (actually held my maltese -- it was a little high, but I definitely held it), and my dismounts seem to be getting better (wish I had rings over a pit at my gym -- that would make things much easier). Did some ab and back work, which I need to do more of; I've been spending almost all my time on arms and shoulders, and not enough on core strength.
  21. I will be bringing at least one, possibly two electric guitars (both off-limits for use when I'm not in the room). Probably bring irish whistles, but I'll most likely carry those with me rather than leave them at jamspace. I also may bring a wah-wah pedal, a tweak fuzz pedal, and a modded tubescreamer (the tweak fuzz can be public, but the rest I don't want anybody using while I'm not there) SO, I say we jam to toejam and earl and magus again. And perhaps mystic cave from sonic 2 as well (that song makes me wish I played bass)
