  1. Did a decent amount of flexibility and maltese work today, but for the most part took it easy. I did much heavier cross strength yesterday than I've been doing, so my shoulders were pretty much fried today. Tomorrow will be a mega hardcore day. In the morning I'll be doing rings strength, trampoline, and perhaps some tumbling and vaulting. In the afternoon, I'm gonna try to do full competetive routines on all three of my events (I don't have a specific routine yet on floor, so I'll just try to do my five biggest tumbling passes in under 70 seconds -- the maximum time allowed for a routine). And then I'll do some more rings strength. I'm getting ever closer to getting my splits all the way down, but these last couple inches are proving to be a real battle.

  4. Got a pretty decent workout today. Did one rings routine minus the holds, did both of my vaults once, and went through all my hardest passes on floor (and landed two new moves I hadn't done before). Did a fair amount of strength and flexibility work as well.
  5. I fully intend to jam once again to Toejam Jammin' and Magus's theme. And Toejam would definitely benefit from a good bassist (we didn't have anybody on bass last year)

  13. I will hopefully be recording a video of my rings routine tomorrow.
  14. Worked pretty hard today. Had a light workout in the morning, then beat the shit out of my entire upper-body in the afternoon. 30 bulgarian dips and 30 narrow-elbowed dips on rings, 50 inverted rowers with a narrow grip and 50 with a wide grip. A total of a minute and a half in stretch band-assisted cross, and several pullouts. I also started working on a straight body, straight arm press to handstand on rings. I work all day tomorrow, with only a brief break, but I'm going to try to film a rings routine during that break.

  16. You can take me off the maybe list; unfortunately, there's no way I can possibly make it this year. It's the same weekend as a gymnastics clinic that I will be attending with my team.

  18. Got unexpectedly called into work today, so I didn't get much done. Still managed to get in a minimal amount of cross work and other shoulder strength. Also did a bit fo flexibility with my girls. I've started working towards an azarian (backward roll to cross). I think I'm still a ways off from getting it, though.

  20. OK, yesterday, I got to all three of the events I'm competing. Several full routines on rings, all my biggest passes on floor (don't actually have a routine yet -- I'm waiting for the new code of points to come out, so I can figure out what I need to work on to get maximum value out of my routine), and got in a few good vaults. Also, I've selected the first meet I will (hopefully) be competing in this season. It will be in Orlando, FL the weekend of January 23-25. Anybody interested in a Florida meetup? I'd love to have some support in the audience.
  21. I'd never watched Avatar up to now, but I watched most of the movie, and fucking loved it. Soundtrack was brilliant.
  22. This is the second time zircon's posted a pic of his studio with Jill under the desk, and yet again, my mind immediately went south. Anyway, I'll get pix/vids of my studio sometime soon.

EDIT: getting back to the subject, I'm working on a mix of "Bloody Tears" from Castlevania 2, and I've never even heard the original.
  24. Took the morning off, then went in and did several full rings routines, from beginning to end, with all the strength holds. Here's my routine (which I will try to film sometime in the near future): Back uprise to piked iron cross Press to maltese Lift to planche (still working on this part) Forward roll, back uprise to straddle planche Press to inverted cross (need to work on holding this) Drop forward, back uprise to L-support Pike press handstand Gaint to handstand Double layout dismount (needs work; I can get enough rotation, I just need to work on straightening it out to a full layout position)
