  1. The arrangement is ok, but the tempo changes are not to my taste at all. There is a lot of variety in the mix, but the sounds are so General Midi soundset, and the percussion could be a lot more defined. NO
  2. Ok..... This just seems to jump from idea to idea, with really baaaaaaaaaaaad guitar samples. Sometimes it sound so bleh with all the different samples coming in at once, I can't pick out the individual notes, I can only hear grnh! grnh! grnh! Oh dear. I'll edit my post as a kind of retrospect when I download from Protricity's link. NO
  3. Well I thought the organ intro was very good, it set my expectations high... and then the guitar came in. Don't get me wrong, this remix is well arranged, but the guitar, it's so, soundfonty. It's probably just my taste, but if you have a dist/elec guitar, it sounds really bad when you don't use a real one, it doesn't have that feel to it at all. And how come there is the fret noise in there as well? NO.
  4. Hehehe, I am tie-breaker! I must say that the quality of instruments used here are impressive. There was one off-key part, and yes there were drumloops, but I thought the mix was enjoyable... Ok this is not good being the tie-breaker after all. You know what, I'm going to say YES.
  5. () Someone please tell me what the hell this is? I would go into detail about why I'm saying NO, but I don't think I need to, to be honest.
  6. Ok, now it's quiet, I'll submit a remix. Haven't submitted anything for a while now, so I'm going to submit something a little different: It's the Dam Dariam 'Love Again' Remix from DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). I recommend you listen to the original first. I took the original, parametric eq'ed out as much as I could to try and isolate the vocals, took ages to find the tempo, and then when the mix was finished, some more eq. Tell me what you think, I've never tried anything like this before. Don't say yes just 'cause I'm a judge! I vote YES, because it's different.
  7. I liked the strings a lot, and that guitar sound was nice as well. The weak link in this is the drums, which sound a bit low-key. They sound like some drum loops have just been slapped in, which is a shame considering the rest of the piece. The drum issue isn't major enough to discredit the rest of the mix, so I'll give this a YES
  8. Hmmm, let's see... Well that flute is very loud, and I think I can hear it reaching +0DB.... and over. I can hear it clipping. Not good. It did seem to drag on for a long time, and all those high frequencies have hurt my ears, there was nothing to balance it out on the low end. NO.
  9. Hmm, the percussion is kinda irritating, but I guess that's personal taste. It's nicely done, but I think the piano could do with some reverb or something, it's too raw, especially near the end. More importantly, the instruments' release is too much, they don't decay quickly enough, so when new notes come in it blends and then it goes all leeeaaarrggghhhh. This has potential, I'm gonna say NO, but you should revise it and re-submit.
  10. Wow, this changes a lot! Well the intro wasn't too bad, although there was a synth that came in at 0.19 that had a bit too much release. The changes took me a little by surprise at times, and at 2.09 when the piano came in, that transition could have been a lot smoother! However, there is good rhythm throughout, there is a very definite structure to it, it has been arranged nicely, and it is distinctive and original. YES.
  11. Wow this is slow. Oh it's an ambient track. This is very nicely done, well mixed, has enough variation, and has just the right amount of reverb. YES.
  12. Whoa!!!! Okaaaaaaaayyyyy...... This is Malcos, and I just did the post above. I wanted to quote Protricity, not be him!!!! Error! Error!
  13. Rhythm seems a little off, but that may be just because I'm only used to certain types of quantising. I really do like the groove and the chord structure of this. The bassline was good, the strings were excellent. I couldn't hear any off-key notes, but I must say that the percusssion completely spoils this for me. The cowbells in particular really are VERY annoying, it seems to get in the way of the other instruments. I hate to say NO, but I really think this mix could be soooo much greater if the percussion was re-worked. To the remixer, please re-do the drums without the cowbells and re-submit, as I would like to see this on OC.
  14. Ohh, very nicely done. Loud and hard-hitting, and the sounds are great. This could have gone straight past us IMO. YES
  15. Not a bad mix, nice variation, particularly on the percussion. Don't see why this shouldn't be posted. YES
  16. Not bad, but sounds suspiciously just like the TV version. I suppose that the series and the game themes are rather similar (ish). Quite short, could have been longer, and I'm not fond of the drums either. NO.
  17. Don't you just wish you could play piano like this? Superb. YES.
  18. Oh yes, very nice. I like, and I don't see (hear) any reason not to post. Very good use of effects, and it is very atmospheric and dynamic. Maybe it should have been a bit longer? Anyway, YES
  19. Nice effects, drum and synth work. While this does not sound as different from the original as it could have, it is still a good mix. YES.
  20. This is one of the best things we've ever judged. This is a YES without a doubt. Wonderful.
  21. Hmm, this is not different enough from the original. Oh look, Orkybash said something very similar to what I just typed. Anyway. NO
  22. I personally thought that the whole thing could have used a bit more reverb, but that's just me. I liked the pizz strings a lot in this one. YES
  23. I was enjoying this you know, and then it was finished. I'm not satisfied, I want more!!! This mix is painfully short. Please submit a longer version!
  24. Thank you Mr.Saunders! Well this is sweet and emotional and well done enough for me to say YES, although I always think that sound effects like 'seashore' should be a little more subtle.
