  1. we've been busy hating the Toronto Maple Leafs
  2. Awesome how zircon makes things work seamlessly one into another. The orchestral elements are bolt fit in the electronica background. There isn't one point in the song where I can "hear" a transition; yeah it's that flowing. The synth in the intro reminds me of Screamer 2, which is a good thing. This ReMix has the evil and dramatic element of orchestral electronica and teh grewve that makes it a winner IMHO. Thanks and congratulations. Only gripe is the guitar; could've been cooler with a real one
  3. Great show, fo' sure, foo. Stop the rap hate, begin the rap flood. A mixture of old-school rap with old-school gaming is a sure win. Quality work with fluid lyrics and that cool black-sounding vibe. Launch all zig
  4. Certainly not the strongest evidence to stand on but with that and no arguments to the contrary, I felt I had good enough reason to justify being lazy and not changing the way I've pronounced it for all these years . Thanks for the criticism and glad you enjoyed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be FLAM-EE just because there are 2 consecutive Ms in the word ?
  5. Shit. I'm definitely in love with that song and I haven't even played fucking Earthbound. The ideas and solo, although weird and dissonant, have an awesome flowing quality. Definitely a keeper, this needs more love.
  6. hmmm.... not my intention, and you know it
  7. so we can't drop out without feeling guilty anymore ?
  8. they will, assuming you're ready to solo your ass off thanks
  9. That would be extremely appreciated. Since I'm doing the Final Destination mix, I would like the voice acting in the scene just before the final battle if that's possible (I don't even know if there's one). Thanks in advance.
  10. If anybody could find any ToS wav samples (I heard it had excellent voice acting, and I'm pretty interested in that), it would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  11. correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there two remaining songs ? Aviators and The Law of Battle ?
  12. it would be easier to download the midi from here I think http://www.fantasyanime.com/legacy/top_music.htm just download the Tales of Phantasia midi music collection I meant two synth parts, not necessarily two distinct synths. It's just that to introduce the song more smoothly, I'd recommned not introducing the bass and lead part together.
  13. Your transition at :11 is bad because its non existant. Start by making one . The beginning is nice, but I would hold a string chord for the tonal ambience. I suppose this use of slayer is passable, but as always, an actual synth would sound much fuller and more interesting. Good start, keep working at it. Well since there are gonna be many live instruments in this project, I might suggest the use of an actual guitar. It's true the transition is bad; you have to lengthen this intro and add something to link it to the actual song (snare roll, strings arpeggio ? hmmmm), and definitely add a crash cymbal when all starts. In the intro I head a bass synth and a lead one starting together, and that's kinda brutal. You could fade in that bass synth and then start with the lead one, or start with the lead one alone and then add the bass one, depending on what kind of feeling you want. Also, I think the idea of 5/8 is mighty cool but doesn't fit the intro well, because there are no drums and it feels just off. Perhaps doing this bit in 6/8 would be better? anyways that's just me. Cool bass groove, cool time signature, cool strings samples: this looks very promising. I'm a sucker for odd times so you got me there. I might suggest adding velocities to the hi-hat though because it sounds very much artificial as is. Maybe adding some very quiet 16th notes to the 8th note pulse would be cool, I dunno, it's your song. And maybe you've thought of that already since it's a baby WIP. Oh well... Hot shit so far. Soraya and I could both record answering guitar parts
  14. oh yeah, the talking bits were taken from the game. I was just pointing out that the vocals were recorded in Da Basemunt™ in response to djp's description.
  15. thanks y'all for the reviews. Just to clear things up a bit, the female vocals were recorded in my basement by a soprano singer called Leonie who happens to be a very good friend of mine (of, if you want, a really good friend of mine who happens to be a soprano singer). They weren't sampled or anything, and all the gear I had was my Shure SM57 and Behringer UB802.
  16. I could give it a shot; I mean playing da guit4rz
  17. Huh ? I wanted to do something quite different. In fact, I wanted to a a long progressive song to end the album. But if it's not the last song I'll prolly do the fast metal shit
  18. j00 r the pwnt. Very nice drum programming, extremely nice harmonization and pretty cool soloing too. It's a shame the guitar sounds unprofessional due to lack of equipment. Everything sounds very smooth both rhythmically and harmonically and well... it just WORKS, even though it's pretty complex. Credit is even more deserved given the transmogrification of the original implied here. I have some minor gripes, but I already told you that in the WIP forums. All in all, greatness. The "yeah" during the drum "solo" at the end is an instant classic
  19. where do I look if I wanna buy pro sounding drum'n bass samples ? I know EastWest do some on a sample CD, but that's all I was about to find on Google.
