  1. probably the ones i put there, emmet.
  2. lukethexattentionwhore post in this thread
  3. it's definitely a hog on memory - mine generally uses about 100 megs all the time. i've got 4 gigs of ram, so it isn't an issue for me, but it might be for you.
  4. norton is what i use. it's very powerful, and it actually prevents malicious programs from being run by prescanning problematic programs, rather than letting them do something and then cleaning it up.
  5. classical is allowed. do your worst/best.
  6. childish gameplay, poor story. supposedly it picks up after the first disc, but i put five hours on it and was so incredibly annoyed by the main character's voice that i couldn't bear going any farther. i'd stay away unless you're a huge fan of japanese-style rpgs and can put up with it. i'm not a big fan of anime, so i'm not into it.
  7. i'm the one with a zillion posts on the pkmn forums, not her. she's only got like six.
  8. did no one mention that that p4 is a piece of crap and is probably choking on the higher cpu demands of larger HD content? seriously, get process explorer and watch your cpu get thrashed within five seconds of opening a full 720p or 1080p trailer, and you'll understand what i mean. the ram can't help, but i'm willing to bet that the biggest bottleneck will be in the cpu, not the ram.
  9. found it, i'm going to send it to you now through pm.
  10. sounds good. shoot me a wip when you've got it. sorry to hear that, stevo =( =( =(
  11. buy all cables at monoprice.com - they're by far the cheapest site i've ever found for that stuff, and they sell pretty good quality stuff, too. don't mind their terrible website =)
  12. hey, you're from buffalo? i grew up there, went to high school in clarence. where do you live?
  13. dvi's ALWAYS a better answer. the quality is like a hundred times better.
  14. and you get wasted with sentries built below the ground wherever you go. i really want to play earth defense force 2017 - i heard it was so bad it was awesome.
  15. mephesto? who is this nub?
  16. i had two bank accounts in college - one for essentials and one for saving. i had my work check (i worked in the library) split in half, with one half going each way. of course, selling what you're skilled at (computers and music, for me) is a good way to make money, too.
  17. this isn't a really old game, but i'd love to see freelancer updated with hd visuals and a true widescreen view. possibly the best balanced combination of gameplay and economics that i've ever managed to find in a space shooter. x3 was good, but it was too complex - freelancer was way easier to get into. i know it came out in 2004, but still =)
  18. i'll have to pick up a copy for my 'new' n64, this game looks pretty cool.
  19. i'm fairly sure i have something from you, miku. i'll check when i get home. also, LAOS dropped his claim. another track's open. i'd appreciate being able to hear some progress relatively soon, everyone.
  20. stretching out, it could theoretically be an issue with the 9600 internal fx card, since they've had issues of every kind during their short lifespan.
  21. seriously, it's worth putting in to get your own, really =)
  22. why are you so active here, then? roomie's system? that's how i started - i didn't own a 360 until last april, when i finally bought one.
  23. after taking almost the entire time the project was in progress. waiting on FOUR NOTES!
  24. shimmering generally points to an issue with the refresh rate, doesn't it? at least, if it's not the cable. wait, 21.5" monitor, and it's a 1920x1080 res? which one is that? i thought that you had to go past 22" to get a monitor with full hd resolution standard. if you're forcing it beyond standard res (probably 1680x1050, like my 22"), then the shimmering could be the monitor trying to update pixels that aren't there, or trying to keep up with a high refresh rate when it's not built for that res. phill, he's using a lappy with a secondary monitor attached, so there's only one cable.
