  1. s'good to know someone cares =). btw, check your oms for the link.
  2. make the whole song a little quieter, get your dynamic range in there, then normalize later with a wave editor like Audacity or CoolEdit.
  3. supabump. that said, when's the website gonna be updated?
  4. this is the first post i've ever seen of this fag that's almost nice and relevant. i think that Jesus will be coming back soon, now.
  5. holy shit, a two year old thread ressurected. basically, clipping comes from the audio being too loud. if it's clipping on everything (headphones as well as 2 speaker setup) and it just sounds distorted, turn it down. in general, when a mix gets clipping, just turn the damn thing down a few notches and you'll be fine.
  6. i'd like to be in on this project in some regard. i'm offering services with sax or bass. plus, i'd like to be one of the listed mixers, if possible.
  7. you can purchase the lifetime free upgrades for like 30 bucks, man, through the website.
  8. Nonetheless, ReCycle is used on a regular basis, particularly in the sampling industry. It is the ideal program for taking raw WAV data and turning it into usable grooves which can then be sold. If you already HAVE a loop or a groove, and it's just for your own personal use, then chances are no, ReCycle will probably not be just what you need because often times you will be doing more with the groove then just chopping it. But for purely doing that (and for doing it well), ReCycle comes out on top. Prophet; it's only $200, actually, and it's as low as $100 with an educational discount. i checked propellorheads.se, but that discount would be really nice. REEEEEALY nice. now, how does the standalone beatslicer that FL offers on their site (BeatSlicer or BeatQuantizer) compare to ReCycle?
  9. Yeah, ReCycle is 249$ US. i'll look into some of the other vsti slicers that you've mentioned, though. oh, and compyfox, for gods sake...it's not like i'm insulting you or something. i made it clear the reason i posted a seperate topic - to get more feedback than what i'd get in a sample request thread (since, after all, i'm talking about purchasing some pricey software). starting a thread about possibly purchasing a rather expensive piece of software isn't that uncommon, or wrong...especially when you want some solid opinions from solid mixers (which I got). depending on what i see with those other vsti's, i might purchase them. but like sgx said, i don't like an extra program for just slicing...especially when it's not my sole source for creating music, like some guys who are bigger into d'n'b than i am.
  10. well, since i'm not having fun doing all the re-arranging in Reason, like i could in FL, i'd like to do some messing with the slice pattern and the like, if possible. sgx, have you used ReCycle? what's your opinion, for doing arrangement...should I stick with rex files or should i purchase a standalone?
  11. when was the last time i mentioned i love this guys work?
  12. i use reason, so I can't use vsts, right? as for kvr, I had no idea that they had standalone programs as well. my bad.
  13. brilliant. i'm an idiot. thanks.
  14. so, what do you guys recommend as a cheap/free beatslicer? when I get FL6, i'll have a decent one, but Dr. Rex is driving me up a fricking wall. I'd like one that can render outside of any specific mixing program, if possible.
  15. well, i'll still do a remix of bottle grotto for myself at some point...but there's nothing to remix but a series of tritones. i'm not gonna get anything tonal out of that. besides, stone is broken all the time...and i honestly don't remember writing that post anyways
  16. so...i've got a dumb questions...that should be simple but i can't seem to find the answer. how do you change the name of a sequencer track that was created without being linked to a synthesizer or mixer? y'know, so it doesn't say 'new track 9' or something?
  17. actually, i just discovered that there isn't any melodic content in bottle grotto to speak of at all. so, richard's villa is looking like what we might do.
  18. PriZm will be helping me on my moody orchestral/rock influenced piece, fyi. we'll be doing bottle grotto. you can write that in stone.
  19. so, i want to re-arrange a song by a Christian worship artist named Chris Tomlin. he's pretty popular among christian light rock nowadays. in order to publish the song, how do i go about getting copyright data - like, how do i make sure i don't get arrested? do i email the company, do i just distribute it freely...what do i do?
  20. I like PriZm. I might give him a ring about this Bottle Grotto thing...i'm having some trouble with it.
  21. soundclick may suck, but i jsut got that downloaded in 2 seconds. not a bad server. if i may offer forth some advice, the piano in the very beginning is too bassy, in my opinion, and could use some velocity work. good groove, though. edit - also, i've got some severe distortion on my end cause it's too loud. just turn it down a little or something, please.
  22. so, when are we planning on this project to be done? mixers, how much longer? i can't wait to hear this project completed.
  23. i'm looking hard at bottle grotto, but don't quote me at that.
