  1. That's one way of going about it. You may find it easier to simply use the "LCD" display in the channel properties at the top right labeled "-fx-" and selecting an FX channel with that. That's how I go about it. Nasenmann's method is probably just as good, but I'm not used to it.
  2. I can usually understand thick English, but her phone apparently cannot. also: [beep boop]
  3. Not at all. Language barriers yay
  4. So kaijin basically you think zircon doesn't deserve to give out musical do's and don'ts? If you read his posts and disagree with them, why haven't you spoken up about this before instead of discussing this in the particular thread? edit: zircon beat me to it D:
  5. Yo Larry, CompoST 51 happened this week, you usually showcase a few of the good ones on your show, so I thought you might be interested There are a few excellent entries also. In other news, rememeber that important topic I needed to call in on? It's gotten even more important. I have a message for the entire scene that I think they need to hear. I hate being serious but I think this is necessary.
  6. Compy: Withholding knowledge is a bit selfish, no? There's nothing wrong with writing a tutorial, I think your "pseudo audio engineers" thought is really reaching. Yeesh! Everyone's been so pessimistic lately. Thank God zircon FINALLY wrote some new tutorials, and no doubt they're going to be able to help a lot of people.
  7. 'FL Syndrome' is a term coined for n00bs that have no idea what they're doing. You'll hear these kinds of songs all over VGMix and also some early OCR tunes. They're set apart by the use of default samples and 3xOSC , and more currently FL Slayer.
  8. That's Skaven though... You can't expect any of us to be that good I've gotten some OK sounds out of Slayer 2, myself. It's also very different from Slayer 1.5 [FL Slayer], it has a few more doodads and a generally different sound. But yeah, leave it to Skaven to turn shit into gold.
  9. There's not much I can tell you about FL Slayer other than it'll sound like crap no matter what if you ever want to make it sound like a guitar. ? There are no tutorials because everyone hates it.
  10. Anyone still interested in this? I'd like to see this project gain a little more popularity. I haven't been working on Whiz Kid as much though... I think I may just restart it because I don't like the funk style it turned into
  11. http://www.kvraudio.com/get/769.html Download the sfz .dll into whatever VST directory you set for FL Studio. Then go to Channels > add > more Refresh the list and sfz should show somewhere in red. Click the box next to it to add it to the list [it'll show up on the "add" dropdown menu now], then add sfz as a channel. You can load soundfonts this way. It doesn't work quite as well as the FL Soundfont Player, but it gets the job done.
  12. Larry next time you're on #ocremix I give you bumper ok?
  13. Any of the three can basically do everything. Try out some demos and see what's better for you. In my opinion, FL Studio is a bit more newbie-friendly than Sonar [cakewalk] or Cubase, but you may end up liking any of the three
  14. I'll take up some extra tracks if shit fails to get in [or gets thrown out]. Though I see we already have quite the lineup ready and willing if this happens.
  15. The midi shouldn't need tuning, I was saying the sample or synth needs tuning, since that was what may be off.
  16. The sample or synth itself could be out of tune. Find the middle C on a piano or something [like, not within fruityloops] and match up the pitch with C [because C is the "normal" pitch of a sample in FL].
  17. Just in case you don't know this: Change from "pattern" mode" to "song mode" by clicking the two lights next to the play button That way it plays the entire playlist instead of just the selected pattern. daa!
  18. More of the same isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, I have a Castlevania 2 cathedral organ solo over at VGMix, if you would be so kind as to check that out. Not really the best thing ever, but it does prove that there are people out there who don't do metal (: As for this song, I agree with everyone in the thread so far that it is indeed rockin'. Sticks a little close to the source material, though. Would really like to see what kind of originality Sixto could bring to some future remixes.
  19. Hahaha wow. I had this a long time ago, but I lost a lot of music in some big hard drive problem. This will be good for the guys who've lately wanted some good jazz [jazzy?] stuff on the site. While I'm not really a fan of sparse, abstract jazzy music [i'm too unsophisticated for it I guess], it's a clearly well-done, professional piece. Good job
  20. Funny show. I wanna hear an mp3 of myself and my giggley call
  21. maybe I should have said "emotive" instead of emotional...
  22. The Cello playing would have to be a lot better for me to use it. It's very flat, detuned and not at all emotional. Are you new to the instrument?
  23. That's ok. I have 2 other projects I need to make music for anyway I need to like, stop joining projects! it's addicting D:
