  1. Well I was just hoping by pointing it out, it would motivate the derailing parties to C&D all shenanigans pertaining to this thread
  2. Heh, I actually have an Ovation Celebrity, and while it did sound nice, the guitar was on the whole a pretty big piece of junk. I bought it new, and a couple years later (with minimal playing) the neck has actually separated from the plastic shell.
  3. You're doing it wrong then. *EDIT* I feel like I am qualified to say that FL Studio is sufficient to create music professionally with. And is not necessarily any better or worse than any other DAW on the market. The direction this thread has gone is a stupid one.
  4. I just want to say that my castle is coming along SWELL guys.
  5. I heard it will be. Also, the Nintendo Powerglove.
  6. Ssup guys, looking for a new bang-around acoustic guitar. Budget is around $300-500. I'm looking for something that I can drag around with me to gigs etc and not worry too much about it getting some love scars on it, but that still sounds good. Let's hear what you guys suggest. I'll still probably run down to Guitar Center and play around on a few, but I'm always curious to see what other people suggest. Also, if it matters, I'm looking for one with a pickup (and EQ/tuner) included.
  7. I am really excited about this new feature, I sit still at a desk way too much lately. http://gmail.com/motion
  8. It's good to see your recent mawwage hasn't got in the way of you making awesome music dude Congrats again! (on the hitch and the mix!)
  9. shamisen AND theramin? no way man, that is freaking rad I love some DJP funk, it's always got something fresh.
  10. FL Studio 10 is out. Go upgrade/buy it. DO EET NOW!!!! GET TO DA CHOPPA!
  11. Sure, you can edit the mix for your video all you want. Just provide the proper credit in the necessary places is all.

  13. You know, I always thought the song sucked, but I don't think it's worth all the bile that's been dispensed. I think everyone should simply read this article and then someone should just close the thread out honestly. I find that I think I agree with everything it says. http://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2011/03/the_fall_and_rise_of_rebecca_b.html
  14. Hey Ken, I left you some presents in your store room. *edit* btw, I found the button later lol
  15. me either, but it doesn't change my goal to live there one day
  16. Boo dramaramallamacomma beep boop turkey poop. And now for a change of subject. So I saw this image today, and I have decided that one of two things MUST happen. Either I will find and buy and live in this house, or else someone (probably not me, because after seeing the stuff on the OCR server you guys have done makes me feel just... not skilled enough haha) must replicate this structure EXACTLY in Minecraft. Behold the glory:
  17. Wow, didn't know Minecraft could spark so much dramarama *EDIT* To lighten the mood/tone, can we maybe just do like a screenshot contest or something? Post pictures of your most impressive MC structure/scenery or something.
  18. For AAA games the average that people get paid is typically between $900-1500 per minute, so naturally you probably won't get that from a small/indie studio. That being said, music is usually a pretty critical part of the game. It's important that you get paid fairly without devaluing your work to the dev, but also without scaring them off by trying to get $500 a minute or more if they're funding the project out of their own pockets or something. And never quote a price right up front, always try to get as much information about the game and music as you can, then evaluate it and get back to them quickly. Find out stuff like: -What kind of music they want -How much music they need -How long you have to work on it -How much control are they willing to give you on the music -What kind of game they're making -What platforms it will be distributed on -How much they'll be selling the game for and definitely ask -What their budget is for music I'm never a fan of people just straight up working for $50/minute or something for original music, because that's honestly like the equivalent of working at McDonalds for like $2 an hour when minimum wage is much higher. And what if you agree to $50 a minute for 10 minutes of music, and then the game goes and sells 150,000 copies. Suddenly a game that's making at LEAST $150,000 has only paid you $500 total for the music, and that's crap. So here's what I would generally recommend. Find out what they can afford to pay you now. If it's really super low, then tell them you'll work for that as long as they give you some sort of backend. You might have to negotiate how much, but at the very least you should ask for at least 5% of the sales or something. Also, ask if you can keep the rights to sell the game's soundtrack on your own if you want. Then you can throw it up on iTunes/Amazon, Bandcamp or wherever and any money you make on that is just extra $$$ in your pocket. Anyway, those are my $0.02, do with them what you will.
  19. I'm rebuilding the Cinderella castle (more or less) and I really need some blue wool for the roof. I've improvised with water for the time being, but I'd much prefer to use blocks, b/c using water this way is sort of a pain. And I haven't even really got to the difficult part yet. *EDIT* Danny hooked me up with some lapis lazuli, so I can properly get to the making the roof and stuff. Woo!
  20. Cakewalk also has lots of stuff on sale or free: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/category.aspx?categoryID=39&startpage=0
