So after my labtop decided to crap out I haven't been able to touch FL Studio at all. Since I'm at my parents for the weekend, though, I'd figure I'd try something new on their computer until I could get back to all the other unfinished stuff that's on that crappy acer labtop. So yah, I have until Monday night to finish this. Let's hope it gets done. My friend and co-artist Synx and I decided to make a song together inspired by "The Legendary Hero" from Wind Waker. As soon as the song was done, the E3 trailer for The Wind Waker HD was released. Taking a break from the gazillion things I have to do and covering one of my favorite tracks by TMV. The other is Wax Simulacra, coming soon after this one's done, and I don't really plan on covering anything else unless something comes up, but this has been a ton of fun so far!! It's definitely quite an exercise in chip soundscaping and flair, and I'm learning a ton by studying the phrasing of the original Cover WIP -
Current WiP: https://soundcloud.com/mc-final-sigma/take-you-to-the-moon-draft Rukunetsu - instrumental (which you can find here) MC Final Sigma - rapping vocals Hey everybody, MC Final Sigma here experimenting with a new style of rap for me on one of Rukunetsu's excellent beats. The instrumental is a remix of Brenda Lee's 1963 cover of Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon." Since the beat is already totally legit, what I'd really like feedback on is the vocals. In particular: 1) I know next to nothing about vocal mastering, so pointers would be appreciated (I'm using Audacity for this), and 2) Since this is a weird, sort of inhuman delivery, some friends have suggested that it might sound good with a robot voice filter of some sort. Again, I'm not sure how to do that or even what type of robot voice might sound good. Any ideas? Otherwise, general feedback would be appreciated! Thanks! -

Anyhow, this track is actually a lot harder to remix than it seemed before I dug into it lol. That pad that the original composer used has a LOT more depth than all of my pads combined haha...but I tried to compensate through other means (like strings combined with pads =p) Also my piano sampo is sounding a little mouldy compared to the source tunes too ug. The transition halfway through is pretty iffy at best and is definitely gonna be on my editing radar. I'm sure there are other things to point out that I may want to change. So yeah please give it a listen and send some feedback.

I'm more than happy to hear critical feedback if one might have suggestions, gripes, or moments in which you find yourself cringing during these two remixes I'm working on below. These are also posted right now under the 'remix requests' forum, so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules posting something duplicitous here. Hi all, Fresh off my first GDC, I met a few of the heavy hitters around these parts and would love to start meeting/collaborating with all of you. My full time gig is teaching audio production here in Austin, but I'm trying to write more these days, and this site seems like a good place to help push myself a bit. Anyway, on to the tunes... This is a work-in-progress of an Earthbound track I worked up the other day, featuring the cues Dr. Andonuts Lab, Bed and Breakfast, and Because I Love You. I'm not very experienced (yet!) in the chiptune/techno vibe, but for now sticking to what I know. While the arrangement doesn't differ vastly from the original, the instrumentation does -- and I hope to communicate a lot of the emotions felt while playing this game. Easily one of my all-time faves.
