  1. Hey everyone, I just finished another multitrack cover and I'd love for you to have a listen. Any comments or feedback always appreciated! This time it's 'Kraid's Lair' from the original Metroid: Cheers, hope you enjoy it!
  2. This isn't meant for posting on OCR or anything. Just a quick demo I threw together this evening, trying out a new violin VST update. Very rough still; gonna continue smoothing out the legatos and working on getting the sound I want. EDIT: Took the song down to work on it some more.
  3. Hi all. Been a nameless viewer here for years and just recently decided to start contributing after learning enough tricks to hold my own. This track is a remix of ME3's "Leaving Earth" and ME2's "Suicide Mission". A full explanation of the thoughts behind the mix can be seen in the description of the track in the link below: https://soundcloud.com/djgalvanization/save-the-earth-save-the-galaxy-mass-effect-remix Sources: Mass Effect 3 Soundtrack - Leaving Earth: http://youtu.be/KGHA9oO1Ybg Mass Effect 2 OST - Suicide Mission: http://youtu.be/VTsD2FjmLsw I submitted this track already for review as a potential OCRemix post, so we'll see if it gets picked up after the judges decide later on. I hope you all like it. The track is finished and I won't be making any changes to it, but I am posting here anyway because I would love to hear what both the casual listener and musically adept communities have to say about it, whether good or bad. Positive feedback is always welcome so I'll know I did something right, but I definitely am open to constructive criticism as well. I intend to apply what I learn from this to my future remixes/originals. Thanks in advance to all who post their opinions/criticisms. Cheers.
  4. Another finnished track from me among everything I've made. Was a while ago I posted anything here so I thought it was time with this one since I thought it turned out alright. Anyway, enjoy!
  5. Hey, this is Nostalgia. I'm looking for active VG remixing communities and found yall. Whoa, why was I not hip to this site. O.O Anyway, I'm new here so hi, and would love feedback on this remix I just finished. https://soundcloud.com/nostalgia/get-dizzy-preview-clip Hard to find good, nerdy feedback so if you get what's happening in this track let me know!! Much <3
  6. So I heard this awesome tune in Tomb Raider that was basically this ambient-dance track that was just this one riff repeated, yet not boring to listen to. This is my failed attempt at writing a track with a similar vibe https://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/club-hypnos
  7. I was happy and I did chill, happy music, enjoy https://soundcloud.com/videogamemaniac/flight-into-fantasy
  8. Just a short track I wrote to blow off some steam. https://soundcloud.com/kekopro/the-gum-tree
  9. Newest: https://soundcloud.com/slimy-4/a-brief-history-of-hyrule-1 I made an orchestral remix of mostly the intro and prologue song, but I also added in some variations of other songs. (Original: https://soundcloud.com/slimy-4/the-legend-of-zelda-a-link-to-the-past-remix-of-intro) After the fanfare-ish intro, It begins with a loose variation of the intro and Triforce theme before transitioning into the prologue music, the song then transitions into a variation of Agahnim's theme, symbolic of all the evil stuff he does in the prologue. Then it transitions into a (hopeful sounding?) variation of Zelda's theme, and ends with a snippet of the overworld theme. Just to sound heroic. Here are the sources: Opening: Agahnim's theme: Zelda's theme: (only used a seconds of these but here they are) Triforce theme: Overworld theme: Feedback would be appreciated!
  10. Sources: Marble Garden Zone: Azure Lake Zone: NEWEST VERSION (05/05/2014): https://app.box.com/s/3o469xr4mhysnv0dufwy Things I've touched up: - Kick and Snare on their own mixer channels. - Improved the snare sound, I think it sounds better and more snappy now. - Brought out the kick more. - Brought down the bass instrument just a hair. - Attempted to add a bit of bass and mid presence throughout. - Altered the attack of the fake FM brass slightly. - Keyboard has slightly more presence. - "Tinny" lead around 0:41 has unison voices added with some slight detune and very minor tweaks. - Overall EQ tweaks to tone down the higher frequencies. Link to Original Remix: https://soundcloud.com/jordan-reed/marble-clouds-in-azure-skies Alright, so here's a track I did recently in the SZRC! I was pretty happy with how this one turned out, but I'd like to get some opinions on the overall arrangement and production. Aside from the small fixes I mentioned, I haven't thought of anything else to touch up. But if something sticks out, let me know! Thanks!
  11. Hi there, Here is a tune of Commander Keen 6 on guitar (the theme is "Security Center"): Enjoy, and feel free to make comments, I'm listening to them
  12. Heh, I started doodling 'round with my guitar today and just had to record this piece: [see the YouTube link in the other post] It's still completely unmixed and I was thinking of adding some sytnh... maybe chiptunes.
  13. I've started planning out my work times to be more productive and increase my creative speed. For this track, I set the instrumentation and wrote a little less than the first half in a couple hours one night, and then finished it up in a few hours last night. It started off like a ship select theme for a shoot 'em up game, but now I can't decide if that would be more fitting or if it'd work better as game over/high score input music. Not that it matters, this isn't being used for anything in particular, it was just a scribble that I forced myself to finish to jumpstart my output after a couple nights of being unproductive. All thoughts/criticisms welcomed Go Get 'Em, Ace!
  14. New remix release! Had it uploaded and hidden on soundcloud for a long while, waiting until my album release to share it. Essentially a bonus track. It's a remix of several GoldenEye themes - Surface, Caverns, and multiplayer especially. "After Hour Martini (shaken remix)" https://soundcloud.com/solesignal/after-hour-martini-shaken Live Kickstarter for the full album, "Coming Up Aces". Support appreciated! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1069234859/sole-signal-coming-up-aces-album-release
  15. https://soundcloud.com/slimy-4/adventure-through-lavender-town-update-1 (Outdated: https://soundcloud.com/slimy-4/adventure-through-lavender-town-wip-pokemon-remix https://soundcloud.com/slimy-4/adventure-through-lavender-town-update) Tried to tell a bit of a story with this one. I started the song with feelings the player might have emerging from the "Cave-of-Can't-See-Anything", then on the short road to Lavender Town. It then transitions into the Lavender Town theme itself, before ending on a triumphant sounding remix of the Route 12 theme. Many of the more original sounding bits (that drag the song on for over 8 minutes) are variations of the Lavender Town and Route 12 melodies, or vaguely inspired from them. Here are the original source tunes: Route 10+12: Lavender Town: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ_0JY2-3FU Feedback would be appreciated!
  16. Hey guys. I have a dilemma. Not sure if this should be considered a remix to DKC2 or not. I definitely took the melody and bass and stuff from the Bayou Boogie track, but the second half definitely doesn't draw from it at all, but that's how the change up sounded in my head. If it can be considered a remix, then I'll probably sub it, if not, then I'll just post it as a track, I don't know how to label it lol. Aside from that, have a listen and let me know what you guys think, whether you just express if you like it or not, or if you have some constructive criticism. I'm treating it as finished, and I'm not sure if I'll go back and edit, but any constructive criticism you provide will be considered for future productions. Have a listen and hope you enjoy =D: Remix

  19. OK, here's the finished thing. Still not sure about the mixing, but it's Amiga Day so I should release it really... https://soundcloud.com/binster/xenon-remix
  20. Hi guys, I want to share my piano cover of Nobuo Uematsu's master piece "those who fight" with you. It was a very hard piece to play without errors, but after much practice i'm proud to show the result. Comments are highly appreciated (good and bad)! http://youtu.be/RDH-VFBxS4U

  24. Hello chaps, it's been a very long time since I posted anything in the workshop so I'm hoping this goes down well. This source is from the latest PRC and I had a lot of fun with it. I'm looking for qualitative comments and suggestions on improvement. I'm not naive enough to expect this to be submitted as a mix, however if it was possible... *EDIT* Added source track and putting up for Mod Review Source: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mvf6y1575t4a1gv/Purge%20the%20Xeno.mp3
