  1. New link the other one didnt work lol This is my first remix in a long time so it might as well be my first. Im only working with the fl studio demo so it was rushed and didnt want anything to happen to it. Any feedback would be appreciated so I can get better at this.
  2. So, here's my newest project. It's a rock remix of DK Island Swing from Donkey Kong Country. I know the guitar solo is shit right now, I'm going to work more on that later, as well as figure out an actual ending. I'm just wondering what your opinions are on the mixing, arrangement, basically everything else. 3. Trying something new for a change and figured I'd come here for some critique since people here might actually have an inkling on the theory behind '80 electropop. Not to mention any mastering tips I can pick up. Let me know what you guys think. I might have used too much reverb in some areas.
  4. A lot of this mix came about from experimenting with different rhythm and pad samples from Evolve: Mutations in the Komplete pack. Enjoy! http://soundcloud.com/jordanrooben/chozo-ruins-v-1 Version 2: http://soundcloud.com/jordanrooben/chozo-ruins-v-2 Version 3: http://soundcloud.com/jordanrooben/chozo-ruins-version-3
  5. Hi guys I have been working on this remix for some time and I would love any kind of feedback. This is the first WIP I made if you can be bothered with it. http://soundcloud.com/kammo64/golden-sun-venus-light-house This is the latest remix which I feel is much improved. http://soundcloud.com/kammo64/golden-sun-venus-light-house-1 Let me know what you think
  6. Hello there guys once again! Another project up and going. Tell me what do you think and of course, enjoy! https://dl.dropbox.com/u/817678/dune1o.mp3 BadLiZ
  7. Recently I started a new attempt to this one first remix for me http://soundcloud.com/colth/colth-raptor-call-of-the
  8. I've been working on this on and off (mostly off) since I first conceived it back in 2007 or so. (Yes, I'm lazy.) http://soundcloud.com/jesse-ingram/jilost-castlevania-bloody To do: * put the organ solo from Dracula X/Rondo of Blood right where the mix "ends" currently, complete with guitar solo over top and original chords following * follow that up with the prologue/epilogue version from Legacy of Darkness for the "big finish" * modify the guitar work in the first solo section to sound a little more like a real guitar player might do it (more variation in note length, more pitch bends/hammer-ons/pull-offs, etc.) * change the drums in the section immediately following the first solo to match those in the intro to the Bloodlines/Haunted Castle version rather than the current lifeless ride cymbal from Dawn of Sorrow * clean up the mixing/balance issues (been struggling with this since I first started) Three questions: 1. Given it's meant to be "complete", are anyone's favorite element(s) of some game version missing? 2. Is the arrangement pretty solid as it is (once I finish the To Do) or should I do more with it? 3. Once I finish the To Do, would this meet OCR standards? (I'm not as worried about this one, as I plan to release it on my own regardless; I'm just curious about releasing it here, too.) And finally: Yes, it will sound a bit "MIDI-ish." That was the idea. I figured if Konami could get away with releasing an entire series of albums containing Konami remixes done solely with the SC-8850, an ambitious fan can certainly get away with releasing a few SC-8850 Konami remixes of his own (and possibly even doing better than Konami themselves), right?
  9. Hey guys. Kuolema gave me some MIDI files to play with and then I made this out of them. Apparently the source is a Legend of Mana track, but... er, look. I've never heard it. Which song is this supposed to be? Yes. I have effectively remixed a track I've never even heard. I am a genius. http://soundcloud.com/tobosaurus/jesus-christ-that-tree-has-a
  10. http://soundcloud.com/yannick-jason/dnb-wip Something I got an idea for today. Any thoughts?
  11. Source: The Sword of Doubt Most Recent (v2): Gears of Alexandria Earlier Versions: Version 1 This is the result of me messing around a few years ago; I picked it up today and tinkered with it, and fleshed it out some more. I'm aware it's currently very rough around the edges. As always, it'll need a lot of balancing and mixing work. And I'm still stuck compositionally on where to go from here... anyway, I'd mostly like to know if this even sounds promising, because I can't quite tell if I want to keep working on it at this point or not. Cheers!
  12. What's up! I'm currently in progress of my first remix EP. Thought I could get some constructive feedback from you guys! I'm experimenting with punk, ska, breakcore, and chiptune elements. It's heavy and super happy at the same time. Enjoy! Link:http://soundcloud.com/blen1/bubble-wars-bubble-bobble
  13. Check this out! I made this in about 3 days! Thanks to Andrew Aversa for composing the song and to Jillian for singing it! The vocal samples were provided with FL Studio 9+. https://www.box.com/s/ia83487mrnitg7dc3n1y (WIP) I made some of the Zebra2 patches again. xD i.e. The wind, some pads, the effects at each bar during some verses (it's hard to explain; maybe it's like when an LFO is really quick, and an envelope is applied to gradually decrease its speed. Like at 0:51 and 1:16), the basses, and some others. zircon made the leads during the instrumental sections, the white noise hit patch, and one of the pads I layered in the breakdown section, among others. EDIT: Ultimately it's not finished, and I'm going back to fix up stuff later. It's close, though.
  14. http://soundcloud.com/swifthom/have-you-raised-ur-low H.Y.R.U.L.E... Yeah. it's yet another Zelda remix ( ).To be honest I was just messing around with drum sequences and this sort of came to me. Don't know if it's got potential to go anywhere but though I'd share what i've done. (This is in no way at all connected to any other projects i'm involved with )

  16. Hey, so Some years ago I was faced with the unique challenge of scoring an RPG project for the first time in my life. My partner for this project, a Canadian gamer named Troy, helped me to craft some truly memorable tunes. What I have here is a chronicle of our efforts toward the final boss theme, the fight against the great dragon ADIRA and the demon king BELIAS. I hope you like the sound of our work. Please do tell if you find it interesting. http://soundcloud.com/dmguillotine/sets/adira-a-final-boss-battle-in/ -Dave G.
  17. This is more of a "cover" I didn't deviate much from the source material, it's not finished it's only about halfway done. Though I added some of my own parts... they sound like they work. Also I need advice on how to mix for orchestra and how to add realism. Also how do you guys input staccato/rhythm sections... mine's kinda sloppy on a count of me doing it manually. Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHFj7Ap4bcw
  18. This is my work in progress remaking metal tune I wrote four years back. http://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/metal-wip Doubt I will finish it.
  19. http://soundcloud.com/zachary-essey/not-named-yet This is an original composition of mine. I want to know what you guys think.
  20. Requiem for a Damaged Spirit - submission version - 10-31-12 Hi everyone! I didn't start this with the intention of making a Requiem of Spirit remix, or any remix for that matter. It began as an experiment, using my favorite new playtoys (Omnisphere and my Damage drum library), to see if I could create an enormous soundscape, with some sounds close-up and some very distant. I came up with a drum and bass groove that I Iiked one evening, and the next morning I awoke with the six notes of Requiem playing over it in my head in a rather unique way. So I sat down at the computer and this just flowed out. Requiem of Spirit leads Link to the Desert Colossus in OoT. It was only after my mix was complete that I realized that all that industrial clanking in the first half is an excellent reference to the Lanayru Desert in Skyward Sword. So, that's cool. This song makes me feel emotional... it is haunting and even a bit disturbing when I listen to it. It starts out fairly badass and electronic, then morphs into something softer and more orchestral, with the Damage drums bridging the sections. The song could tell the story of someone who has made some bad decisions in life, but as time goes on he realizes his mistakes but wonders if it is too late to change his ways... I plan to submit this soon. Thanks in advance for any comments, and I hope you enjoy this track. (track will remain "private" until I submit it) edit: oops... I darn-near forgot to post the awesome .edit again: changing to WIP as I am adding another solo and doing some tweaks.
  21. This is actually a remake of a cover I made last year that was featured on Capcom's official blog a while ago. I've only decided to post it on these forums now because I'm planning on uploading this to my channel as a celebration for 150 subscribers and 1 year of activity, so feedback would be brilliant! I'm planning on adding another section of extra original interpretation as well.

  23. Hello there. Err... Nice weather we're having.... Isn't it? I'm not good at starting these. So let's get on with it. Shall we? So, I decided a good way to help me improve, Is to start a song project. As I progress through the project, I hope to become more skilled, and in the end, Have a complete song that turns out good. On to the actual song. Now, I tried to think of what to do for my first project, and while I was messing around practicing, and trying some new things out, I decided I may as well do a song from the first game I ever played. Sonic 3D Blast, On The SEGA Saturn. I figured the best way to start making music would be a song from the first game I played. And what better way to start something then with the last level... Right? I though about which Act to do. In the end though, I couldn't make up my mind. So I figured why not do both as one song. Right now, I haven't made a version with both together, Only separate pieces. That is the next step. Before I start though, I want to try and get some feedback, See what people like, or dislike, what is wrong, and so forth. After a little bit of feedback, I'll start to work on the first version of the final version. Hopefully I can get a solid enough track, And be able to refine it from then on. Enough Rambling, And let's get to the actual tracks. Let me know what you think: Act 1: http://soundcloud.com/xumtosis/panic-puppet-zone-act-1 Act 2: http://soundcloud.com/xumtosis/panic-puppet-zone-act-2-version-2-wip If you want you can check the older versions I have up, And let me know if I'm actually improving. They should be the first two tracks I uploaded. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: I now have a very rough outline of both Acts together. It's for concept proof more then anything. So forgive the lack of any transition. Here it is: http://soundcloud.com/xumtosis/panic-puppet-zone-act-1-2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: Went back a step, In order to do a bit more refining. Only have Act 1 right now, But I should have Act 2 soon. I'll add it below when I get it done. Let me know what you think. http://soundcloud.com/xumtosis/panic-puppet-zone-act-1-3 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, Thanks for taking the time to read through my ramblings. Any feedback is appreciated.
