I like the sound I got with the gated distorted synth, serves as some kind of driving force. Upbeat tune, fit for a final boss, hope you enjoy it

Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?mrvvqambhojppgn Backup Link: Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbzZqgZiLBo One aspect I enjoy about a remix is how it can not only stir old memories but also how it can put them under a new light. When I was invited to contribute to the "Harmony of a Hunter" project, one of my goals was to produce a song that completely contrasted the style of the original song. I decided to choose one of the more recent popular tracks in the series, Samus vs. Rundas. To write such a contrasting piece, I decided to go with something I'd never done before: a piano solo. I'd always wanted to release a piano solo, but I was never too sure how to go about it. I would always put it off for a later date. With the newly set deadline of the 25th Anniversary and "Harmony of a Hunter", I sat down and began to work. I went through several iterations for the introduction. One version even sounded very similar to JigginJonT's "The Flooded Plain", a piece that was very influential to me. I ended up restructuring the first three chords of the original theme. At the beginning, I had included the second phrase of the battle in the arrangement. I could never quite get it to fit with the rest of the song. It just didn't work with the emotions of the rest of the song. I ended up with this little improvised part that I loved so much, that I decided to replace it in the final song. And there you have it. I present a song that's dedicated to the memory of Rundas. Enjoy.
  3. http://soundcloud.com/aires/space-invaders-thing-atari - Work On it 1 SourceThey lasered mah windows Fuck absynth l and massive eating the fucking cpu, I might not even finish this to when i get to the fast crazy part. and this is 38% done...........
  4. A lot of firsts in this one for me. First Vocal track. First use of vocoding. First synthesizer solo. First use of synthesized drums. It's nearly finished. I just need to tighten up the solo and vocal performance, and fix some balance issues. Mix: http://tindeck.com/listen/rbxx (sorry about the bummer of a title, haha) Latest: http://tindeck.com/listen/jibu Sources: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQTn45K4u44&feature=related Tell me what you think.
  5. Where Sheep Go When They Die http://tindeck.com/listen/bdol This was my entry for the first round of GRMRB 2011 http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=34694 The song is a remix of Sheep Man and Skull Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7H257n8y1s Any feedback is appreciated. Feedback on production is especially welcome!

  8. Ribbit! Y'know, I'm still quite excited about my first published mix \@/, and this time I've been messing with arab countries in general. I decided to make a peaceful, yet dancey mix, and thought I'd get some feedback. Follow the link: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=861 -> not available anymore http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=867 Source's the intro theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvg_zTUCSI0 I've got a problem with a few arab percussion elements. The ones panned to the right sound okay from the headphones, but turns to be quite loud if I change them for the monitor (in which the sound quality comes terribly low). Is it just my monitor or should I make some adjustments? Also, feel free to express some more crits if needed. ...And that's still a working title, that means "peace (be) upon your heart" if I'm not mistaken ;P
  9. This is my remix of the Mother 3 naming screen. Although there are very few parts in the song I did my very best and I liked the results. The ending product times just over 2:40. Prophecy's "Sweet Dream Lullaby" really inspired me to make this (my mix doesn't come close to reaching that level of awesome) and I think you can see how it influences the music. I hope you enjoy listening to it! Original - Begin (Remix) - http://tindeck.com/listen/tgzv

  11. Although I hate bison when his AI is cranked to max, I do like his theme song. Only thing is, that I dont know which genre to lead it towards. Either DnB, Breakbeat, Or maybe even both dunno. So I want you guy's opinion on which genre would work for it. Beware though. its around a 40 sec preview of what im working on, so you're gonna have to replay it. no kick, claps, snares, or high hats. just everything else cause i dont know which way to lean it toward. much help would be appreciated! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?q=hi&songID=10668163
  12. Long time no post here! Here's an orchestral, cinematic and (quite) dark version of Legend of Dragoon's "Crystal Palace". I'm afraid it may be too liberal, but I like the way it sounds. I really want to submit it, so feedback will be very appreciated! SoundCloud MediaFire Source: YouTube
  13. Some of you might've gotten an earlier version of this on IRC via ocrwip. Arrangement wise, this probably won't be that different, I just changed some of the synths and mixing of this. That said, though, here's Jewel of the Night, an electro house remix of Jewel Man's theme. Emerald Version <--Version 0.5137(Now on box.net!) Quartz Version. <-- Version 0.5(Actually finished, arrangement wise!) Jade Version<-- Version 0.49¯(Totally not finished, but close to it!) 14. Hello my fellow OCRemixing community! Here comes my GSC Game Corner Remix; they just keep getting better and better! You'll notice the tempo in this remix is much slower than the original; the purpose was to make it a bit more funky and catchy--to me, it just sounded cooler slower Alright, so for this one, I need your help and critique especially, because I am having a hard time choosing the better sound for my mix; one synth pad is making all the difference. I have here two versions of the same remix (made by Garageband '11.) The first remix was my original remix--as in, the way I originally created it, with an unadjusted Manori Stab Pad. Here the harmonies become a little bit less clear, but I feel that the intensity in this remix is amped by this certain adjustment--as in, it just sounds cooler to me. The second remix is my altered remix--as in, the Manori Stab Pad has been adjusted for more clarity (though for a few parts I altered the decay to bring back the "intensity" where I really needed it--IE, the ending, arpeggios, etc) While clarity increases for a good portion of the mix, I feel like the intensity took a little bit of a hit there. This is where you all come in. Please tell me which is better and why, what to fix, etc. This is one I really want to end up submitting the the OCRemix judging panel, and I really need some review to help me out. So I thank you all for your time; below, you will find the remixes Source: Original: http://www.box.net/shared/340159yv00 (More intensity) Altered: http://www.box.net/shared/2f101uoc4q (More clarity)
  15. http://soundcloud.com/aires/jun-sa1-my-cover Nothing serious, guitar playing is not that great ither (plus i did not play the exsact chords at the riff cause i was lazy XD) just testing to see if i got his tone and my result tone sounds BAD imo, im using the peavy amp sim revealver. I did not get the right mids a tube amp like the 5150/6505 gives off Here, http://www.mediafire.com/?5da46fqqd5rs2e6 (62 mb) And yes the bounced version is very diffrent from my version and i dont know why ableton did not let you have cymbals lmao XD. And yes again Bounced version has all ableton stuff, my version does too except for the reverb. Im using a jackson Dinky Dk2 with a Seymore Duncan TB - 4 on the bridge and stack singles on mid and neck but im using the TB-4 for this one, just like juns sonic guitar. source:
  16. http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=1203 0:08-0:48; 4:18-4:34. 1:03-2:24; 2:50-3:13 (there's source here, but the melody's just more obscure); 3:35-4:01. The rest is either chord progression from the sources or original writing, like the piano playing part. There's quite a big backstory for this, but, to sum it up, it's about diversity of love. I've treated instruments as if they were people with their respective genders, and I intentionally made them pair together a lot. The harp represents love. Further details will be explained when (or if ;P) this gets posted, but before I even send this, I'd like you to give some crits. LET'S GO FOR A SIMS REMIX GUYS \@/
  17. My first remix I believe I put up for review here was the G/S/C Champ battle, as it was the first theme I had every really remixed. I've come a LOOOOOOOONG way since then (it's been over a year), and felt the need to redo this in a more epic, melodic style. My common critique around here is to deviate from the form of the song, which I think I executed quite well. It's probably the piece I've worked the longest on, and the one that builds the most from beginning to end. So go ahead, give it a listen: I'll give the YouTube link as well as the archive site. 19. Hey, all, haven't posted something in a while. . . Anyway, I'm gonna start off by saying that I really don't know why there aren't any remixes from this game on this site. The music from this game is freaking awesome, I don't care what anybody thinks. lol And this is one of my favorites from the series, the Temporal Tower theme. Here is a link to the remix: Tower_in_Despair'>http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v1-TheGuitahHeroe- Tower_in_Despair Version 2: http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v2-TheGuitahHeroe-Tower_in_Despair Version 3: http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v3-TheGuitahHeroe-Tower_in_Despair Version 4: http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v4-TheGuitahHeroe-Tower_in_Despair Version 5: http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v5-TheGuitahHeroe-Tower_in_Despair Version 8: http://www.remixsite.org/remixes/201-v8-TheGuitahHeroe-Temporal_Despair And here's the source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn6yNpgjfP8 Feedback would be greatly appreciated -TGH
  20. Source: My take: http://tindeck.com/listen/twgi Hello Everyone, I'm new here. Last Sunday I found out about this place and started obsessively listening to all of the remixes I could find. During the time I spent looking around, I realized that one of my favorite games, Disgaea 2, had received no love and no requests. I must have been in a problem-solving kind of mood, because after some research as to the expectations for a remix, I immediately started cranking this track out. The reason I chose this particular piece to remix is because anyone who has played Disgaea 2 as long as I have knows that to get to level 9999 (yes, it's possible and AMAZINGLY rewarding), it takes a lot of time in the Item World. I basically know the tune by heart from all of the hours I've poured into it, and it's a fairly good track to remix, so why not? I called the track "No Fear" because the item world seems very simple and easy at first--you breeze right through it--but when you get to level 100 and you're staring a level 2 Item God in the face, it's pretty darn scary. I'm already very proud of it. However, I'm also very critical of it, so I'm just going to mention some of the things that I don't like. What I know how to fix: -It's too short. The ending is lame anyway,so I'm planning to add another part, possibly spiraling out a little more from the source material to make some scary soundscapes, a la Devlab by Devin Townsend. It's called No Fear, after all. One idea I had was to use some material from other tracks from Disgaea for the ending. -The guitar work is sloppy and the doubled octave part is out of tune. I'm not the most competent guitar player, but I'm slowly getting better. Most likely I'm going to redo the guitar parts for that middle section altogether. -The drum beat at the beginning of the "metal section" is lame. I was thinking I would try out a different type of beat, maybe on the toms instead of the more straight ahead rock beat with the hi-hat that I have now. Any suggestions for alternative rhythm section endeavors I could try would be appreciated. -The arpeggiated bass sounds ugly. I'm currently tweaking it every chance I get to see if I can make it sound any better. That's more that I'm struggling to gain a mastery over Massive than a serious issue, I think. What I need help with: -The big thing that comes to mind is production on the drums. I know that my acoustic drum set sounds amazing when you're in the room with it. I just can't seem to get the eq levels right. The bass drum in particular sounds too "thumpy" to me, and I wish I knew how to give it more punch without overpowering the mix. Also, the snare sounds just a little bit dull compared to how colorful and powerful it sounds in real life. Once again, all of the eqing I tried just resulted in clipping or overpowering the mix. I really could use some advice in this area. -Any other production suggestions would be nice as well. I'm new to a lot of the concepts involved in production. I did some EQ and panning work on the rest of the tracks, but I have done no compression and I think it sounds fine. Who knows? I might be wrong. That's all I can think of at the moment. Enjoy! EDIT: Latest version:
  21. i wan to try doing techno now but not sure im doing it right heres the song am i doing it right???
  22. Just an alt. rock thing. It's pretty much finished but I'd like input on it. I don't usually ask for input.. but here I am! The game itself is not in the OCR archives, so I suppose that needs to be changed, eh? The lyrics are... I dunno, they may seem vapid, but I needed to write them when I wrote them. Don't hate. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-JnR-wTIxg Mix: http://cyril.arnoldascher.com/rock/seenthroughwip2.mp3 Lyrics: Baby you're the only one I got inside The walls that I put up around me Seen through, the barriers I make for you But its hard for me to let go I gotta tell you that I can't be the perfect one Its hard for me, but I know that you'll stay around Seen through, the stupid things I say and do Thank God I know that you won't let go You know... You know you're the only one for me I know you see only the best in me you know you're the only one for me Baby you're the only one I got inside The walls that I put up around me Seen through, the barriers I make for you Now its hard for me to let go Baby I won't let you go Baby I won't let you go Baby I'll see this through
  23. So, it's been awhile since I've posted (been pretty busy), but here's the Castle Theme from Super Mario World in a dubstep/hip-hop interpretation. I have a few questions: How do I get the drums to sound "thicker"? EQ, maximizer, stereo, what? Does anyone have any links to drum composition tutorials? I can hack out a passable drum beat in ReDrum, but here, I'm using a couple of mixed-around drum loops. Any EQ/mastering things you noticed while listening to it? Is it too quiet? Original: Thanks, OCR.
  24. ok guys! I've redone almost all leads: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%2...-%20Final2.mp3 1. Piano now has a arpeggio layer underneath to sound more natural 2. Both sax re-recorded to sound as human as possible (believe me, I really tried hard to make it sound real) 3. Flute sample replaced with the one with less vibration (also added some breath effects to make it sound more real) 4. Some chords progression re-written. I hope you guys have no complains this time. I really want to move on to VROOM project after this. So, submission worthy? Source(s) Bayonetta: After Burner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY78laSGops
