  2. A while ago, I self-published my debut album, ORACLE. I don't think I ever shared it on here, so here's a link to one of the tracks, 'Exordium': https://bjoernkmusic.bandcamp.com/track/exordium-2 Genre-wise, this is a modern, guitar-centric metal album, with particular focus on riffs and atmosphere rather than wild leads and crazy technique. Think of Metallica's instrumental songs but with a djent-y soundscape and a pinch of prog. I'm also heavily (ha! pun!) influenced by other metal musicians from the YouTube space, such as Keith Merrow (Merrow, Conquering Dystopia, Alluvial) or Ola Englund (Feared, The Haunted). 'Exordium' is the single of the album, and I think it's a good way to start into it. It's fairly straight forward, in-you-face metal. The album gets a bit more progressive than that on tracks like Of Guilt and Catharsis. If you feel drawn to acts like Meshuggah or Periphery / Haunted Shores, you might want to give these a go as well. This whole project was a one-nerd-effort, from conception to final mixdown. Except for mastering, for which I was lucky enough to get Ermin Hamidovic from Systematic Productions (Architects, Periphery, Devin Townsend) on board. Conceptually, the album tackles themes of insecurity and depression, but also of struggle and overcoming. The album as a whole looks at the process of working through a life-altering event, with all its ups and downs. The individual tracks dig into the different stages of this process, as well as the emotions attached to that. To give you an idea, 'Premonitions' is informed by the looming feeling of something not being right that you sometimes get way before you consciously notice any actual problems / changes, while 'Exordium' tries to capture the almost manic determination that sometimes grabs a hold of ya when you realize the inevitability of a big event that is heading your way. But enough rambling, at the end of the day, I'd be much more interested to hear what YOU hear in the album. Of course, any and all feedback regarding songwriting, mixing etc. would be much appreciated - while this is my first foray into the scene, I'm not planning to leave it at that and there's so much to do and to improve I hope you give Exordium---and maybe even the entire album---a spin. The link above leads to Bandcamp, but it's up on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube) as well. Cheers!
  3. Hi everyone, One of my friends recently launched a new web-based game called TetraDefense (that I composed the music for ) - it's a sweet combination of Tetris and "tower defense" that will blow your mind. The game looks simple, but watch out...although the first couple levels are easy, they get harder in a hurry! In fact, I still haven't beaten all the levels :), but I bet some of you guys will do better than I did: http://www.tetradefense.com/ FYI, the music changes every 3 levels, so you don't get bored of listening to the same track. And if you get stuck, the "How To Play" link at the bottom left will probably help you (of course you should read that first, but who has time for that?) Let me know what you think - and by all means, let me know if you manage to beat all the levels! GLHF -ContinueTheEnd

  5. Hello all, Today I won't talk about music remix (like this very old one Chrono Trigger remix I made in BASIC on my Amstrad CPC) In my spare time, and Since the Global Game Jam 2015, I'm working a on an Action/Puzzle game called Cipher Pusher and I'd like to tell you about it. It's about blocks, vortexes & seafood. In big pixels. Cipher Pusher Cipher Pusher is a 2D top down Action/Puzzle game where you will have to push, carry, rotate, and connect some blocks! But wait you can also remote-push, multi-push several blocks at a time, perform chain reactions… to achieve even greater combos! You play as an astronaut without any weapon… and though you will have to dodge thousands of missiles, encounter hostile octopus-like lifeforms, experiment strange mechanisms to solve puzzles… If you're interested, watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBfcmLdEkQw Tech notes & Sound I'm coding this game in C++. And I'm also coding its engine, based on Allegro 5. And be relieved, I'm not doing the music & sound myself! I know that I'm not good at this, especially since my attempt at making remix. Plus I don't have either the experience nor the equipment !! I'm so glad to work with T.O.M.Avatars a.k.a S Dee & Dave during concerts. Here's his soundcloud and his website. Also, here are some GIFs : Steam Greenlight & spread the word I have great pleasure in launching its Steam Greenlight http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=655219474 ! If you liked the trailer, or my previous work, please go to Steam website and vote YES here! As you probably know, this is important because it will allow the game to get published. If you want to help much more, it's possible! You can help us by spreading the word ! • on Facebook : Share this post https://www.facebook.com/CipherPusher/posts/1337700546245272 • on Twitter : RT this tweet https://twitter.com/elbloco80/status/732541118806659073 Thanks A LOT for your time!

  7. Hello, fellow game music fans! ReMixer Peach here with a special game music soundtrack I wrote for a published indie game! It is available for listening on and SoundCloud, and we have plans for a physical album release. Game Description "Seraphim", a different kind of arcade shooter by Studio Ravenheart, is an indie title for the PlayStation Vita (Mobile), iOS, Android, Nook, Kindle, Windows Phone, and Blackberry. Taking place in an abstract celestial realm, you assume the role of a great otherworldly being known only as The Seraph, defending the worlds from invading constructs with blasts from your six mighty wings. Tracklist 1. Hail to the Seraph 2. Our Protector 3. Fragmented 4. Our Protector Empowered Hail to the Seraph This song features as the title menu, high score, and instructions theme, invoking the sound of imminent battle. It is a derivative of the song played when fighting against the incoming threats, played at a slightly slower pace for a different feeling. Our Protector This song features as the main theme, heard while fighting against the incoming threats. Borrowing some ideas from "Strength of a Thousand Men" by Two Steps from Hell, this piece shows influences from Super Smash Bros., Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, and perhaps some other game soundtracks. Fragmented This song features as the death/game over theme for version 1.1 of the game. Taking some cues from a minimalist piano piece—not written by me—found in version 1.0 of the game, this composition embraces both ambient and minimalist styles. A familiar melody plays for the final third of the song. Our Protector Empowered This song features while in the effect of one of several power-ups for version 2.0 of the game. With the temporary ability, the environment changes in appearance as a continuous dance beat plays. I originally wanted to use Vocaloid Prima for the standard version of Our Protector, but time did not allow it. Thankfully, the idea was implemented in this energised version of the song.
