  1. Another piece I did for DoD, but unlike the last one (which was a mostly straightforward cover), this one is a mashup of 2 songs from the OST and has a much more original arrangement. Haven't submitted yet, but I think I may sometime soon. Let me know if there's some mix tweaks or anything else that could improve it before I do! Originals: Now, smashed and banged (smanged!) together and turnt to 11:
  2. This is just a tribute to one of the best songs i've heard on a video game, ever! Original song composed by Rob Hubbard, a genius composer and muscician, over the last 40 years. The song that i cover it's the one that appears on "Skate Or Die II" tittles theme stage for NES console Drums were made on "Guitar Pro 5" and edited on "Fruity Loops 7" with VST "EZDrummer MetalMachine" Guitars were recorded on "Vegas 11" trough BOSS GT10 pedalboard. Hope you enjoy it, and greetings from Argentina. Guidorch Link: Original song: Skate Or Die II - Tittle Theme
  3. This game has ZERO remixes! It is such a good game, and the music is memorable. Especially, the well.
  4. In what seems to be a misunderstanding of the usual OCR process, I already e-mailed this in (derp). But let's pretend I didn't! This is a somewhat doomy/sludgy metal take on this tune. I'm pretty happy with it all in all. Feel free to feedback away! Original: My hot take on it:
  5. Main part done. Still have some adjusting to do; breakdown might be re-written, gonna see if it grows on me. https://soundcloud.com/audiocolor/electric-seaweed-tmnt-nes-dam-remix-sample-wip/s-3yMaJ PS: Tried posting the embedded code, but I can't get it to come up... dontknow..
  6. Hi! This is probably my best cover out of eight that I have put up on Youtube and Spotify. Having hard time finding any kind of audience/community to share these so I figured this is the place where I can find some video game music fans that give opinions and hints! I try to be pretty faithful to the original arrangements and bulid my own stuff on top of that cos' it brings my piss to a boil when you have a metal remix of some tune and it's just filled with double kick and djent without anything to do with the original arrangment. So there's my modus operandi, enjoy! Original:
  7. I finished another one of my emulation style remixes. All sounds extracted from the original games as separate channels using sound emulation, then mixed together/distorted/stretched/manipulated. Sounds are from NES Castlevania 2, Super Castlevania 4, SNES Dracula X, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Super Metroid. Source:
  8. Hello. Made it long ago. What do you think? Source EDIT: Fixed source link. Sorry.
  9. I started working on this remix a few months ago, been on ice since then until this weekend. Damn it was a long time ago I could finish a song in just 2 days. So what do you think? Would it be something for the OCR community? Everyone loves the Zelda melodies, right? <3 //Glejs
  10. NES Version SNES Version
  11. YES ITS BEEN DONE A MILLION TIMES BUT... I wanted to have a go. Also Kenichi Matsubara is a beast.
  12. So a friend of mine challenged me to remix this theme in the Goa / Psy Trance style. Well, I like a challenge. So, here is my first attempt at Goa Trance. Looking for feedback on the style, sound, eqing, everything. I'm new to this genre (and this site), so let me have it. Thanks! Forgot to add that... UPDATE: Link updated. See post for more info. UPDATE 2: Did a lot of fleshing out and some EQing. UPDATE 3: Added some more goodies and did a final master. I feel it's ready for submission. UPDATE 4: Did a complete redo of the mixing. I had to change some instruments to make things blend well. UPDATE 5: Fixed some stuff (the bassline most noticeably)and did another mastering attempt. I think it's ready to submit. FINAL UPDATE: Alright, so I did a final master and sent it off to be judged. Phew, I hope they enjoy it!
  13. Hello to all the amazing Ocremix comunity, My name is Carlo Francesco Lopez and i wanna share with you my latest recording. Its a medley of Double Dragon 3 for the NES. Cheers!! lml
  14. Updated contra music and match the progression of the song to about how far I can make it now without the code. Getting old now :p
  15. Hi, So I think the arrangement is close to done, but I need some advice on mixing. https://t.co/nbwZ1I6gc7 I'm kind of new to audio production, so I'm really open to any advice at all. I know there are places where I need to do something, but I'm not sure what. Thanks, I hope I'm doing this right. I'm kind of shy.
  16. Hi, I'm really inspired by the many talented individuals of this community. I'm going to start sharing my work. Just drawings I've done for fun, or maybe local contests...actually only one contest. Hopefully I can figure out how to upload the files. I was afraid of this. I don't know how to upload attachments. Anyone who can help? http://fav.me/dbx9f0z So, I have a link to a drawing I uploaded to my newly created deviant art page. This drawing was for a submissio to the Graphic novel contest for san jose public library in California. I used it for the cover, with some lettering for title. I used a pencil, just a yellow number 2, and then a few gray tone Copic markers to provide contour and tone. No color allowed. I think I used a Copic liner pen for the inking. A bit of white paint for highlights in eye. You can probably see my mistake, whereI misplaced/forgot to place my mole on correct side of face. Using my face was the easiestway to get a cover illustration done, because the interior pages were so time consuming, and it was a last minute project. I'm very much into procrastinating. Hi. I wanted to say that I will be scanning some more of my drawings and what not pretty soon. I just wanted you all to know that my ugly face isn't the only thing I have to show off. ...heh heh heh. I will get the short story I did for the 2012 SJPL graphic novel contest up on this post. I actually placed 3rd for that one, and that was literally done the night before. I worked on that thing until about 5 in the morning, then had to get to work the same morning at my crappy job at Safeway. Ugh. But, honestly, the endorphins or whatever that were released from the creative process kept me going all day! So, I think by Saturday January 30, I should have quite a few more pages up. Please, feel free to leave comments. Even if you want to just troll. I don't mind. I know my own personal worth, I'm on my own journey. Thanks. Hi. I found a drawing of Klay Thompson I did about a year ago. Photo was online, and I was feeling like "i need to force myself to draw" at that point in time. Kinda like how I feel now. This was just pencil on some sketch pad, maybe regular copy paper? Just something quick, for exercise. I would really appreciate if anyone that views this post would let me know if these links and images are actually viewable to you. Thanks
  17. Yoshi Mushroom A First attempt at an OC style remix. Hard to find game, and even harder to find any reference (midi, wav, gameplay). My friend is going for a world record attempt on twitch, and this song got stuck in my head.
  18. I'd like to submit my recording and arrangement of the final theme from The Adventures of Lolo. It's a kick-ass tune and I've arranged all of the original notes to be played live on the piano. So, in that regard it's extremely conservative. Performing all three voices live and accurately is, I think, innovative. I would like some feedback on the recording quality and mix. I used three mics - 2 Octava 012s in facing left and right inside the piano and a Rode NT5 just outside the piano facing the strings. There is some light compression and reverb. Here is a video of the recording - And here is my version - Thanks for watching and for any feedback! Rob
  19. Hello! I made cover for the Smurfs NES soundtrack. Song is "Flight on a Stork" (Act 05). I wanted to lift up this awesome theme with strings and distortion guitar :D. Feedback is appreciated! Here is the Cover: Here is the Original:
  20. I've been working on a new EP with lots of chiptune elements that will be releasing in December. I thought I'd share a little sample of it. The EP will be a mix of chiptune elements, acoustic piano pieces, ambient electronic music and analog synths. Hope you guys like it! I'll be updating pretty regularly on my channel as we head to release. Hope you all are having a great day!
  21. Any other Mega Man enthusiasts play this yet or make any levels? It's pretty awesome how you can mix and match assets from MM1-6 in all sorts of weird ways. Hopefully they keep adding new stuff to it.
  22. I made a medley of all of the stage music from the NES Ninja Gaiden 2. Since this isn't a remix but a medley, I figured it didn't belong in the remixes forum. It's also almost 15 minutes long!
  23. Hi. It been a long time that I work on a remix track. You'll find here WIP Double Dragon 2 intro maint theme with an orchestral arrangment. I have to fix a lot of things but you'll probably see where I want to go. Original source. Arrangment.
  24. Hi all. I arranged the Heat Man theme from the NES classic Mega Man 2 for 3 classical guitars. Enjoy. By the way, I'm new on OCR and didn't find a topic specifically for instrumental covers. If one exists please let me know and I will re-post. EM
