This is another attempt at this tune. I sampled myself for the flute parts (I don't get much quiet time to do takes for live playing), and used a guitar vst for the electric guitar parts. There's a couple synth leads that I used, and I tried to automate some of the parameters on them, instead of using LFO's. When I submitted an earlier version to the panel, one of the judges correctly deduced that I was changing the instrumentation based on a new party member joining. I still went for that idea, but I hope this is a more cohesive attempt. Thanks ahead of time for feedback! https://drive.google.com/file/d/12RzSRUmYVmmZt_xJZiobUkFDBG3hmOk9/view?usp=sharing

Not sure if it is possible to post this remix here because it's a fan game, but might as well. Loved giving the original a new nature-esque coat of paint, as well as making it feel more complete (with a constructive beginning and end - sort of an adventure in a way). Probably my favourite remix produced so far. Thx in advance to whoever listens. Kindest regards, Metris

After taking some time off from making music to develop a new mixing style and get used to my new Yamaha MSP 3 professional studio monitors (which are perhaps some of the most accurate and faithful studio monitors in the world, and definitely professional tools for mixing and sound engineering), I'm back on track with a nice remix of the "Superman" soundtrack originally composed by the punk rock and ska punk band Goldfinger. The original track, on which I based this remix, became quite famous with the Playstation game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (also called "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding" in some countries). And since I really digged this song when I played the game as a teenager, I decided to use my new mixing skills and my new professional studio tools to create a kinda worthy remix of this track. Since this remix is basically my first major music project mixed on my new Yamaha MSP 3 studio monitors, and I think it's one of my best tracks with a much more advanced and professional mixing style, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. So, I put a lot of time, effort, passion and inner fire into the new composition of this remix, and I really had a lot of fun creating it with my own musical style, which in this case consists of a nice alternation of ambient soundscapes, heavy rock parts and some casual jazzy lines. For more information about the creation of my remix, check out the upload description of the YouTube link. And here is the content. 2. ready for review Legend of Dragoon - Highway to Helena
Kat posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
It's been a long while since I did any serious work, so here we go - a remix of Boss Battle 2 from Legend of Dragoon. While the last couple of Dragoon arrangements I did shifted the genre quite a bit, this time I decided to lean heavily into the original mood. I think it's largely finished, but there are still some things I'd like to touch up. Enjoy, and any feedback is welcome! And here's the original source: -
2. ready for review Hurry! - Final Fantasy VII Remix
doffu posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
A synthwave rendition of Hurry! by Nobuo Uematsu, featured in the game Final Fantasy VII. This is my remix. This is the original song for reference. My arrangement is done on synthesizer. I kept the same BPM to give the same overall timing but manipulated the beat into an electronic/synthwave style. I also introduced many new instruments, micro-rhythms, and timbres.-

2. ready for review Celeste - First Steps (Metris Remix)
Metris posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hi everyone! This is the first remix I've ever worked on, so I wanted to base it on a track I love. That happened to be First Steps from Celeste (an incredible game). The atmosphere it creates when opening the player to the game is immaculate. And the retro tuning of the instrumentation I adore. When developing it, I wanted to somewhat modernize it whilst retaining the emotional and atmospheric beats of First Steps as a whole. Hope y'all enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/metris-77761303/celeste-first-steps-metris-remix -

EDIT: Added SoundCloud link to the finished version. I've been on a Italo Disco binge and wanted to interpret a video game tune in that style. I chose Never More from Persona 4 because it's one of my favourite tracks ever. Basically I took the tune as is, rearranged it in Italo Disco style and used sounds from the 80's era: LinnDrum, Roland Juno, DX7 etc. It's still missing the outro and some production elements but as far as the arrangement and instrumentation goes I'm happy with it. I tried to steal as much inspiration as I could from classic tunes from bands like Modern Talking. Here's the original

Here's my slow version of Chemical Plant Zone. Everything is programmed/recorded live in my keyboard and the main melody is performed live ontop of the prerecorded and arranged track. I would appreciate some input before i send it up on Overclocked. This is the speed i currently can play the song in, should i speed it up with software or let it be like it is?

Main part done. Still have some adjusting to do; breakdown might be re-written, gonna see if it grows on me. PS: Tried posting the embedded code, but I can't get it to come up... dontknow..

This is something I put together recently, and I thought I would post it here. I have a couple things I would like feedback on. Number one, I'm not sure on the balance and reverb on the SID lead, and I'm also not sure how others will like "the 80's threw up in here" kind of thing I have going on. I personally like it, not sure if others will. Thanks for feedback ahead of time!:) Edit: I made a couple of adjustments. Looking4BuddiesMasterWAV.wav

Hey everyone! In this rendition I went for a kinda doo wop 50's style, drew some inspiration from Sleep Walk. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lo-NqgZHhAImrFf-OEJf53tQp6eY-u8C/view?usp=sharing Hope you like it! Please let me know what you think, comment on the production, arrangements, etc! Thank you

Hey guys! Here's my version of Krooks March from Donkey Kong Country 2 (aka the Castle Theme from that game). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pLEhWwtJ301pH9aVGFXS-8dOZE92DqX0/view?usp=sharing My goal was to make a metal cover of this and since the song itself is very symphonic this turned out like a mixture of Dream Theater with Iron Maiden. Hope you like it! Please let me know what you think, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

2. ready for review Chrono Cross - Sailing ~ Another World
H36T posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I recently completed a piece and have decided I liked it enough that maybe I could make it a submission here at OC Remix. Just not sure where to work on, add, or if I should keep it as is. As it is now I'm happy with it. -
I'm satisfied with this, but I wanna make sure I didn't screw up and not catch it, so I'm poasting it here (never mind my spelling, I like toast!). https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1093989 I'll be editing this poast for a YouTube embed when the video publishes tomorrow evening... Edit: Jesus Christ. Okay, I just listened to it sober. Well, my writing is good (always is when I'm drunk), but I screwed up so bad on the mixing and transitions. Wow, I need to fix this. Edit 2: this and the next poast are the same link. I replaced the audio file in the page.

Hi folks! Working on making a version of Chrono Trigger's "Guardia Millennial Fair" that sounds like it's taking place at night, rather than during the day. Hoping to get feedback on: Whether this feels okay to submit — it's short, and uses a layer of samples from Splice to bring in ✨ vibes ✨ How's the instrumentation? Anything clashing, or any parts need improvement? How's the mix? Anything too loud or too quiet? Does the panning seem okay? Appreciate any and all feedback!
