Arcubalis
The Eminence Symphony Orchestra has just announced that they've recorded a two-disc album celebrating the music for Blizzard Entertainment. We've got an interview with Eminence director Hiroaki Yura about the project, their collaboration with the composers and the guest arrangers (including Kow Otani and Go Shiina), and the possibility of another Echoes of War album in the future. Additional photos and track list are included! http://www.originalsoundversion.com/?p=881 Looks pretty sweet. Will anyone be picking this up? Shadow Wolf
Looks good, but it definitely needs more WC2 love. Another thing I'd like to know: On the WoW OST, track 2 is called "The Shaping of the World." That song is, in my opinion, the best song Blizzard has ever composed for any of their games. Don't ask me why, it just hit me that way. Thing is, it wasn't used in the game AT ALL. I've always wondered if anyone had any info on that. Was it composed just for the album, or what? Arcubalis
Haha, it's just like us to complain about what's missing, right? I agree. WC2 music is amazing. Martin Leung actually performed a WC2 arrangement at the BlizzCon VGL show (there's a review of the show somewhere on OSV), but yeah, hopefully they do another EOW album and have some WC2 stuff. Regarding WoW, the game has over 20 hours of music, so chances of you finding something seems pretty slim, haha. Wrath of the Lich King will have 7 hours of music by itself, bringing the total to over 27 hours. That's just nuts. EOW looks and sounds great. I've never been the biggest WoW fan, so the first disc isn't so exciting, but the rest of the stuff is awesome.
