And another one!

This time, the source is from Donkey Kong Country 3 "Kastle Kaos" theme.

You can check out the original song in MIDI format on VGMusic.com. This is the exact page: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/index-af.html (You'll need to scroll down a bit to find it)

And here it is in mp3 format: http://www.fileupyours.com/view/215432/KRool.mp3

The style of this mix is similar to my first "The Delay" mix from DKC2 which can be found here: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01546/.

This is only the intro so, there isn't much to it yet.

Now, for the WIP:

Can't wait to hear this finished. Big fan of your first Delay, this sounds like it could be even better. Really like the violin-esque riffs that kick in around 0:17. How about bringing more variety to those later in the song? The mix of techno and piano in the middle is a big strong point for me as well; would love to hear more of the same. Great stuff so far!

Love what you have so far. Are you planning to use any of those low resonating sounds from the original? They have that very throaty static sound which might be good somewhere in there. I very much like the mellow out feel of this from the original, and to me, a counter with those low sounds would complement it nicely. Just my opinions. Great work

Always a pleasure to hear your work, Blue Magic.

Very nicely layered instrumentation. I dig the rhythm and split audio synth.

I guess this isn't worth much as a critique, as I think it's great... Looking forward to more updates!

i agree. and imho, especially with the second piano patch, it feels like it's missing some punch. it's like the transients are over-compressed or it's been treated with a really wide band pass.. i don't know exactly how to say it, but listen to AeroZ's 'Turning Terrors' for 20 seconds then come back to this, and you can really hear the missing registers.

obviously this is a tiny complaint, and that's only because there's nothing else to complain about. it's awesome so far--great groove, excellent pacing, etc. i'm looking forward to hearing more of it.

I got it, but it took a few tries.

I'm listening to this new mix. It sounds to me a lot like the old in all the areas I liked. I maintain what I said about wanting some low parts, but still love what you have.

Again, the length is an issue. Some trance stuff is really good at a slow type build with almost no material. You're jumps right into the melody from the original. You may be able to sort of draw this out longer by only playing part of the melody over the chords. I like what you've got, don't get me wrong. But it's less than 2 minutes long :-(

Hope this helps
