L.T.W.
Unveiled 4 days ago at CES2009 or I think this is so cool, Im definitely buying one when it comes out. Retail price is supposed to be 80 to 100 bucks. Also Square-Enix and the creators of this thing (NeuroSky) are working together to create games controlled with your mind (http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/10/09/square-enix-teams-up-with-neurosky-for-mind-control-gaming)
RoeTaKa
Man I could do that all day. Wonder if it would work as a funky lie detector? You could even make one that makes popcorn!
zircon
Boooo. Last year I was working with a team of Drexel students who created a device that translated neurofeedback into game control data. It was pretty damn cool. For example, to manipulate a manhole cover in the game you actually had to concentrate in real life. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2008/08/games-brain-sig.html In other words, a bunch of students developed and implemented this exact technology independently a year ago. Lame.
SoulinEther
Man, what if you have ADHD and you get this as a gift? I wonder, then, if this could actually help you learn how to concentrate and focus.

Zephyr
I've actually used that sort of thing at a science center a few years ago, there was a puck on a table, and you'd compete against someone else's level of brain activity to try move the puck across tho their side of the table. It was a competition to see who could concentrate more. Not new, but seems like a really cool idea anyways.

The more you concentrate, the faster your car goes. but you can be thinking about anything. the wave of the future? right here. http://emotiv.com/ http://emotiv.com/INDS_2/inds_2_3.html edit: an actual game designed for it. http://emotiv.com/INDS_1/inds_1.html i plan to buy one of these things ASAP. Sinewav
What do you mean? megalols. Man, what if you have ADHD and you get this as a gift?I wonder, then, if this could actually help you learn how to concentrate and focus. Actually, it would depend on the type of ADHD you have. A lot of the time, it's not so much an issue with not being able to concentrate, as much as it's an issue where your brain goes into overdrive and you can't control it. Of course that's an oversimplification, but I wouldn't be too surprised if some people with ADHD were actually better at this game than most people. SoulinEther
but I wouldn't be too surprised if some people with ADHD were actually better at this game than most people. We'll have to see, I guess. GATHER THE ADHD'D MASSES AND STRAP THEM INTO THIS THING. STAT!
