Liontamer
I know there are several tools/apps out that allow one to extract YouTube and other videos. I wanted to know what the best one out there was that can extract the video without a quality loss, like if there were an HD version of a YouTube video, I could extract that at that original HD quality. Thanks for any insight!
Bahamut
Shouldn't this be in the Help & Newbies forum?
KyleJCrb
Are you doubting Larry's ability to post where he wants about whatever he wants?
Xenon Odyssey
If you're using Firefox, I use Download Helper. Sometimes it can get confusing if you have multiple tabs with YouTube videos on them because it makes a single list and the file names can be jumbled, but other than that, I've had no problems, and have a 1.5 GB folder of just videos I've ripped from YouTube and elsewhere. Wow. I kinda wish I'd known of this technology before some of my favourite Youtube videos got deleted...
Sinewav
I use a Firefox extention call NetVideoHunter. I'm not sure about the technical specifics, but I haven't noticed any quality loss on any videos. One of the cooler features is that it keeps a list of all the videos you've watched and you can go back and download them, even if you've navigated away from the page or closed the browser since then. José the Bronx Rican
Assuming the above mentioned apps work in the same way as www.keepvid.com (input the vid's URL and get regular and HQ download links), you'll get conversions of the original uploaded video. In the case of the HQ, it'll be an .mp4 video with AAC stereo audio. I haven't checked out HD yet.
