I know there are several tools/apps out that allow one to extract YouTube and other videos. I wanted to know what the best one out there was that can extract the video without a quality loss, like if there were an HD version of a YouTube video, I could extract that at that original HD quality. Thanks for any insight!

If you're using Firefox, I use Download Helper. {...} I've had no problems, and have a 1.5 GB folder of just videos I've ripped from YouTube and elsewhere.

Wow. I kinda wish I'd known of this technology before some of my favourite Youtube videos got deleted...

I use a Firefox extention call NetVideoHunter. I'm not sure about the technical specifics, but I haven't noticed any quality loss on any videos. One of the cooler features is that it keeps a list of all the videos you've watched and you can go back and download them, even if you've navigated away from the page or closed the browser since then.
