Great news for fans of Shadowman (The Acclaim game, not the comic.)

So guys I am proud to announce something I have been most excited about for the past fornight or so.

For those of you who remember, Shadowman was a PS1, N64 and Dreamcast game about Mike Le'Roi and his quest through Deadside and Liveside as a voodoo good, who's mission was to stop the apocalypse.

Well it seems there has been some news out of the Shadowman world from the members of Acclaim who worked on the game. I am in some sort of contact with Tim Haywood, the man behind the score who wrote the entire Shadowman soundtrack by himself, as he described it as "dark ambient with an african twist." Tim has recently been working on a sequel to the Shadowman games in the form of a fan fiction book, however he has also revealed that he is going to re-record the entire soundtrack with better quality, new sounds with some extentions. There will be an album and perhaps a DVD from the people who made the game to say where their paths led them and also with production notes about the making of the album.

I hope like myself you guys are as happy as I am. You can find the updates in the link below and the production notes he has made so far.

Here is the introductory post:

I made a decision this weekend to revisit the Shadowman Score. I've not written anything in the past few years and creatively I wanted to get back to writing DARK AMBIENT music again, it seemed only sensible to revisit Shadowman again because of my love for that creative world, the concept themes, and story telling were a culmination of exceptional creative talent , and I wish to honour that legacy with a music tribute.

This Dairy will chart the progress of the work, starting with the plan, but also giving background into the processes I take, the equipment I use, and the inspirations behind the content.

Keeping in mind the following question is directed with a tonality of respect and, despite its wording, is not meant to be considered rude at all, just curious in response to the way it is described but..... What exactly is your point to do so?

I suppose it would serve a purpose for us as we can always use more industry insight on production - name dropping, techniques used, maybe even more. But apart from that I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Shadowman is not the most memorable game from a gaming era that is not very memorable anyway, although I reread about it just two days ago as I perused my old magazines.

I'm just not sure exactly what this topic means to serve.

Meteo its pretty much directed to fans.

basically it's enlightening them after some years of practically dead silence some sweet is coming out of it. In this case a remastered edition of the soundtrack from the game along with some extra notes on the composers

Nonetheless I'm looking forward to it as the game was fun for me. (had the n64 version)

I played this.

As a game, it was strictly average, but the world it took place in was powerfully realized, in my opinion. Tracked down the PC version not quite a year ago; all things considered, it's aged pretty well.

As someone who has several tracks from the game on his hard drive, I am interested in seeing where this goes.

Shadowman was one of my favourite games as the PS1 era is my era, thats when I started gaming and its ironic just how much I still have from that era. Over 200 games, numerous accessories and two consoles.

To avoid digression, this topic was aimed at the people who enjoyed Shadowman as one of the more memorable aspects was the music. Just listen to the song in this link in this post and you'll understand why I am excited.
