Cyril the Wolf
Aforementioned by Bahamut, Kamelot - Memento Mori: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNfEOwMZMmUSome chick I came across, Tarja - Die Alive: Tarja used to sing in Nightwish. Looks like she toned down the heavy for her solo stuff.
Darth Lime
My apologies if this band was said before. The Fucking Champs What's A Little Reign? Andres Segovia Interests Me Highly underrated band with insane guitar work. Reminds me of the Minibosses and Mega Man style music.
Cerrax
Not sure if they've been mentioned, but I've recently gotten into Mystic Prophecy. Some seriously epic power metal. Satanic Curses Rock The Night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBxLOImzeQE And no mention of The Sword yet? Seriously? The Sundering How Heavy This Axe
Chernabogue
Their two albums are awesome, trust me!
The Phalanx
I'm surprised no one mentioned Rotting Christ yet! Nemecic Athanati Este (personal favorite) Sorrowful Farewell My Sacred Path Aeternatus Thy Wings Thy Horns Thy Sin (aka final boss music) Daemons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r8QDT8yM7I Gaia Tellus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJtDZXFKNP4 Their newest album, AEALO, is a departure from their previous work; its very much different, and it took me several listens before I could really enjoy it. I don't consider this a bad thing, though--a band needs to experiment, not stagnate. Cerrax
I just found out (and subsequently geeking out) because Sabaton has announced their first tour in the United States! Definitely check them out if they're going to be near you! Me and Alexis will most likely be going to the West Springfield, VA show. http://www.sabaton.net/tour.html 40 : 1-Sabaton Uprising-Sabaton

Alas, I'll be at Parris Island, South Carolina by then - I live pretty close to Springfield. You two should take a trip down here for Blind Guardian's show on December 22 here . EmpyClaw
After checking through, I am fairly certain no one mentioned Unexpect. They do a lot of stuff that I would normally dislike in metal or music in general, but something about the cacophony of sound and utter madness draws me to their stuff. Though I've only really listened to their latest album. Here's my favourite song by Unexpect:

Megalomaniac Trees is my favorite song of theirs. Highly recommended. And great live band to boot.
