HeWhoIsIAm - A Midi for ORC - MIDI __________________________________________________________________ Good luck everyone. Deadline 21st March Midnight US East Coast The contest is a monthly contest so the deadline is programmed to be the 3rd sunday of the month. Voting stage will follow till the 4th sunday of the month. Next context will start again the first of the next month. The Quick Rules Rundown Step 1 -Submission:- 1. Anyone can enter regardless of your remixing ability. 2. Filesize is limited to 8 meg. 3. You may only enter one piece. but can collab on a second one. 4. When you've finished your entry, post it in the compo tha sauce system. HERE. 5. You may submit your piece as a MIDI, MP3 or OGG file. Step 2 -Vote:- Voting will be done via Thasauce. Voting stage will last 1 week from the 21th to the 28th Midnight . Important:Don't vote for yourself (and in a case of a 1vs1 don't vote at all) About the comment: You are now allowed to comment anytime EXCEPT during the voting stage.. that mean that once a mix is posted, you can feedback it, until the submission process is over. Remixer are able to fix/enhance it until the deadline. The date in the PM/Email will be used to upload the most recent one. About a draw in the result: It happen sometime. I vote for myself, making myself look bad, or 2. I vote for you, possibly giving you the winning vote. I'm forced to vote, now, but don't do that again if there are only two places to vote for . Means that I vote for someone not myself, then if there's 2 entries I vote the other as first and not for myself. So, just leave the second place option empty. Gario Posted March 22, 2010 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Analoq, I know you shouldn't vote for yourself... but as both you and I know, you still can (oops, for me). I won't vote for myself, you should know that (we had a little talk about that earlier, remember? ). I'm just... confused as to why someone would vote on these when they can only vote for one person, is all, since if I don't vote now that would put me at an unfair advantage (and I'd have every right to do that - it'd be the exact same as voting for myself, score-wise). It's just illogical to do that to yourself, and the other person is set up with a minor moral dilemma, now. I guess giving critiques/comments/compliments is a reason to do it, but it does put me in a little bit of a strange place, now . I'm voting, so don't worry about any unfair score problems; I normally don't in this situation, for those reasons so if I didn't look back here Jerry would've been in a minor pickle, here (I see this compo being close enough that the single point would indeed have an effect on the outcome). Normally Doufi tells the contestants not to vote if there are only two people in it, so I'm used to that system (not to mention it's just safer for the contestants, overall). I was pretty sure somewhere in the rules it said that when you vote you get an amount of points equal to a first place vote, so (Assuming I didn't vote for myself - which I'm pretty sure is against the rules anyway) things remain the same. Thus, whether you vote or not, nothing has changed Ah, I just read the rules page (here: http://www.doulifee.com/prc/Orc/orcrules.php this isn't outdated is it?) in the middle of writing this, and apparently I only receive 3 points, while 1st place receives 4. And, since they're the rules I initally read, you can be sure I didn't vote for myself either. Sorry, I know it says when there are 2 entrants you have "No reason to vote", but I didn't think it meant "not supposed to vote" (Since last ORC HeWhoIsIam wanted people to vote, despite being the only entry, I assumed it was the same kinda principle - not needed, but perhaps appreciated) Eh, sorry about that, I'm an idiot </crazy ramble> And I don't mind if you don't vote, Gario. I don't mind who wins, I just do it for fun and to try and improve. And besides, I think you're the only person I've never heard/remixed a source from as of yet. Doulifée Posted March 22, 2010 Author Share Posted March 22, 2010 yeah, that the old voting system. my bad i forgot to change that too. old ORC voting was done via pm so it was easy to count and add point, now it's done via thasauce and that system is not implemented in the thasauce voting stuff. my bad. i must ads a "note vote for yourself" rules in there pronto. I did, don't worry - you see, the voting works like this: 1st gets 4 point, 2nd gets 2, 3rd gets 1, and if you vote you get a bonus 3 point. So, if you vote for me I get an extra point over you, instantly (4 points vs 3), so it would be unfair for you, in the long run. Only by a point, but with only two people that could make or break the competetion (I've been in two where that single point won/lost the ORC compo, already). Oh, and that's why I do it, too - compos are excellent at improving one's ability to work under a constraint. Gotten loads better due to things like this, myself. It's just a little awkward to vote like that, but I did so there's no problem, now on with our lives . And besides, I think you're the only person I've never heard/remixed a source from as of yet. l o l . Don't worry 'bout me, buddy ... wait, where is ORC 116? That was between R:TS periods, so I guess that compo is floating around, somewhere...Obviously I still want to win, but I'll survive, otherwise.
