HalcyonSpirit
Do you guys play on Insane? Cause somethin' tells me you don't play on insane. o_o I NEEEEDS my un-nerfed Tesla Cannon. It's the only thing that made me not look like a noob. Yes, I play on Insane. And if I could put together a halfway-competent team, I'd have finished the campaign on Insane by now. I think the Tesla Cannon's purpose in the support role is even more exemplified when used on Insane than any other difficulty. There's not nearly as much need for the stunning/slowing effect the Tesla Cannon has when used on the lower difficulty levels. On Insane, it's practically a requirement on some missions that at least one person has a Tesla Cannon so the team can get through intact. I'm still looking for a team. Anyone up for it? Brandon Strader
I can join yer TEAM, but without my Tesla Cannon, it's going to be FF Central and I don't mean final fantasy.
Monobrow
Played this on insane with two other people... holy hell haha... This game is great, I wish they would add more levels... Also where the hell is that nuclear explosion? :J
Fishy
I've been looking at the editor, they've made it very easy to make your own levels. Took me under an hour to learn to make a working lit corridor with some weldable and keylocked doors. Really all there is left to learn is making working objectives (which can't be too hard) and learning to not suck at geometry. The rest is patience. I'm sure anyone with any HL2 or Left4Dead editor skills could pump out a campaign fairly quickly.

I haven't used it, but as I understand, the editor is completely different from the standard Hammer editor... for one, it's tile-based. It is exactly like Hammer with new AS specific entities etc. No idea what you mean by "tile" based. The existing campaign is way too complex to be tile-based. The existing campaign is way too complex to be tile-based. I assumed this because the game page for Alien Swarm on Steam says "Tile-based map generation tool." Tile-based would be placing pre-created tiles together to form a map. Or so I assumed.
Darklink42
Anyone else having trouble running the offline mode? It works, but it lags up something terrible, and I have no idea why. I'm running a fairly decent computer without a lot of background programs, but when the action starts picking up, it freezes for about 5-15 secs at a time. I'd like to play online, but I want to make sure it will work properly first.
Mr. Bottle Rocket
just got this, it's pretty funstuff.
Powerlord
Steam was having some huge problems earlier today. Shouldn't affect offline mode, but... As for what I mean by Steam having huge problems... you couldn't join any games.
Darklink42
I figured it out, it was the multicore rendering which was freaking the game out so badly. Had a fun round on normal online, I'll try to catch some of you guys online if I can.

Or so I assumed. Sorry, you're right there is one but it's bloody hard to find. It's an 'experimental' in-game SDK. You have to enable a load of cheats in game for it to come up, and then you can export your (fairly simple) level to Hammer to fix it up. I'll give it a go later
