TGON Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 First off, I mean FULL OST albums not like Chrono Symphonic which was just some themes not the whole thing. So yeah, considering these are 2 of the most ReMixed OST's on the site why hasn't there been full albums of them yet?
zircon Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Actually, you answered your own question there at the end - those have been so heavily remixed that there is less motivation to do a remix project for them. What more could a remix project offer that we haven't already seen? That's the question that has to constantly be asked of any would-be project director, and it's considerably harder to answer for the thoroughly-remixed, massively-popular OSTs.
Kenogu Labz Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Those two are so massive that a project would really need direction before it can start. If I recall correctly, VotL, one of (if not the) largest OCR album to date took several years. It's quite a lot of work. Both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI are on that magnitude, in quality, if not quantity. Although I still say Final Fantasy VI could be made into a beautiful opera.
KyleJCrb Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 FF6 projects have actually been started several times, but they have stalled every time. I have 417 Chrono Trigger remixes in my collection, from various remix albums, doujins, and even just singles released around the web. As zircon said, Chrono Trigger has so many remixes that it's almost pointless to do a project.
The Damned Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Unless it the kingdom of Zeal theme, that can't be remixed enough.

Yeah FFVII is a very popular OST on this site and it still got an album D:
Mirby Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 DKC2 was remixed a lot [by Prot] but it still got an album. If this were to happen, we'd need a Mega Man 2 album. Disc 1: RM themes Disc 2: Wily Stage 1 Disc 3: The other songs
Bleck Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 no no no we need a 10 disc mega man classic album
HoratioGiovanni Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 What I wanna know is... Where's the Skies Of Arcadia remix project? I know there was one that sort of died out. That game has TONS of great music, and not many remixes here.
LuketheXjesse Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 WHY DOESN'T SHATTERHAND HAVE AN ALBUM YET
The Damned Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 no no nowe need a 10 disc mega man classic album Uhmmm... I wouldn't mind that, actually. But make it eleven discs, to include the Game Boy Mega Man games as well.
Gollgagh Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 WHY DOESN'T SHATTERHAND HAVE AN ALBUM YET this this this this
DCT Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 So is this the "what game deserves a remix project" thread?
