Zach
So I'm abit rusty on my theory. I have some chords here, I just dont know what key they belong to. Anyone help me out? The chords are: A# Ab Ab7+ Bb7+ Bb9 C C# D# D#7 Db Db7+ Eb F Gb Thanks!
Rozovian
C# major or Bb (A#) minor. I'm not touching the augumented chords, tho.
Moseph
Are these from a song? It's hard to tell anything, really, out of context like this because you have a bunch of enharmonic spellings of the same things (e.g. D-sharp vs. E-flat), which generally don't occur within the same key. Just going by chord spellings, I'd guess probably D-flat major/C-sharp major or B-flat minor/A-sharp minor like Rozovian said. Rozovian, the augmented chords are probably just modified dominants (V) and secondary dominants (V of ... ), although you can't really say anything for sure out of context. AngelCityOutlaw
You're using all capital letters. Which indicates all Major chords and that's why I think you have chords from a few different keys goin' on.
Kidd Cabbage
You're using all capital letters. Which indicates all Major chords and that's why I think you have chords from a few different keys goin' on. Not in contemporary theory. And I don't think Telemann was using 7(#5) chords very frequently.
Zach
Thanks for the help. Heres the song:
LuIzA
I seriously need to start studying theory again... particularly contemporary theory.
Gario
Let's see... it sounds like some simple harmonies, to me. It's in Eb Major and this is the roman numeral analysis of the chord structure. (V)- I (EbM)-IV (AbM)-ii (fm)-VII (DdM)(Primare Mixture)-V (BbM)-I (EbM)... (only got up to ~0:40, 'cause I don't have the time for the full analysis atm). The 7ths & 9ths are simple decorations, as well as the chromatic passing notes (there are no real augmented chords in this song that I hear - it all sounds like passing notes to me). Hopefully that gives someone a springboard to analyse the track in it's entirety.
Dissidia
You should get/use the chord wheel it's made for this.
