HoopyFrood
Ok I'm thinking of getting Borderlands while it's on sale but I don't know if i would enjoy it. I do like Torchlight and TF2 so I guess I would enjoy it. The other problem though is that I'm not sure it would run on my computer well enough to enjoy it. here are the stats: Celeron 900 2.2 GHz 4GB ddr2 ram Intel hdm4500 integrated graphics Windows 7 home premium 390GB free hard drive space
Gario
It'll run well enough. I can play it at roughly those specs.
Brushfire
It doesn't work with anything. I cant get it connect to the friends that I got the game for. Also it's interface is annoying. Maybe the game is good. I don't know. I can't get it to work. Also why do I have to get a Gamespy account to play this game.
suzumebachi
no offense but your computer is... lacking. you don't even meet the minimum requirements let alone the recommended. it might run, but it sure as hell won't run well. i sincerely doubt it will be even remotely playable. Tensei
single core + integrated graphics = gg.
HoopyFrood
@suzumebachi Give me a break. I know it's not anywhere near optimal but its all I've got. Besides, this is a laptop so I can't upgrade it anyway short of replacing it which I can't afford at this time. So all in all you are saying I shouldn't get it? PROTO·DOME
Besides, this is a laptopMy rule of thumb for laptops is that despite how impressive the hardware is/sounds, it'll always run half as well as its desktop counterpart. Proof there is no God- or if there is, he hates portable machines. So in your case... Yeah, perhaps give this one a miss.
Ramaniscence
Isn't it on sale for like $5? It's a really fricken goood game its well worth a $5 risk to see if it'll run. Skip on the value meal next time you go to Wendy's and just order off the dollar menu.
Nabeel Ansari
No.itwontrunplayabledude Should you get it? Your choice, but don't expect to enjoy it if you're playing it like that. I got so fed up with TF2 when I was on an underpowered machine.

OS: Windows XP/Vista Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2.4 Ghz or equivalent Memory: 1GB (2GB recommended with Vista) Hard Drive: 8 GB free Video Memory: 256mb video ram or better (GeForce 9 series or higher/Radeon R8xx series) Sound Card: Windows compatible sound card DirectX: 9.0c Keyboard and Mouse DVD Rom Drive The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (sometimes also called GMA X4500 HD or other combinations) is a DirectX 10 capable onboard graphics adapter in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset of the Centrino 2 platform (Montevina). The chip has no dedicated graphics memory, but takes dynamically an amount from the main memory (up to 384 MB). The only thing you don't meet is the processor requirements. Your laptop sucks. You're going to play the game at lowest settings, but you'll make it through. It's $5. It's also a STEAM GAME. So you'll have it forever. I get the impression you play TF2 (frequently). You can handle Borderlands.
HoopyFrood
I know my laptop sucks but what do you expect for 380$? I didn't buy it intending to use it as a gaming machine but it kinda happened anyway.

HoopyFrood
I was replying to Rama, Neblix. By the way I should have noted I'm looking at the GOTY edition of the game not the regular, so the price is closer to 8$.
Ramaniscence
My point is you know your laptop isn't great. You know the game isn't going to run at full settings, or might have some hiccups on the lower settings. You have realistic expectations of what your laptop is capable of based on your experiences with it. You've seen the requirements for the game. It WILL run. Also: I didn't realize it was the GOTY addition. That $3 changes things. You'll probably have to eat off of the dollar menu for 2 days, or mow half of a lawn, or trade in a used game from 2008 at GameStop,
HoopyFrood
You'll probably have to eat off of the dollar menu for 2 days Oh whatever shall I do? I don't eat out much any way so I'll be good on that.Edit: Ok I jumped on it. Hopefully I won't regret it.
Flexstyle
Always get Borderlands if you can, haha. Fantastic game to play with yourself or a few friends.
Mirby
Play it, love it, get Borderlands 2 next year. Seriously, I'm gonna do this too. The main reason I want to play it is because everyone on this site seems to love it.
JackKieser
Yeah, you should definitely get Borderlands 2 when it comes out. ...of course, you could be as awesome as me and have Randy Pitchford personally autograph and hand to you a code that is essentially a pre-paid-for-in-full copy of Borderlands 2, but I wouldn't count on that. ^_~
Gollgagh
I played borderlands for like 30 minutes maybe I could give it another shot now that I have a beast of a machine, but yeah it didn't really stick the first time
