Digital remater sound, I developed "bug head"

Recommended Posts

I know "Final Fantasy VII - Voices of the Lifestream".

then more sound quality increased music player... I created "Bug head".

MP3->[brown mode]->SACD? :-)

M4A->[brown mode]->SACD quality?

96kHz FLAC->[RED mode]->Is SACD an underdog? :-D

Softpedia "Bug head Ver1.753"

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Players/Bug-head.shtml

This software is a digital remaster music player made with unique

sound processing technology designed by us to pursue the sound

of the world’s highest quality. Instant appliances are ready

to start this software, you can enjoy sound as high as

high-end sound or much higher.

It is the software free of charge forever !!

Support Audio files ( but I didn't check all files. )

16 bit or 24 bit or 32bit

44.1kHz / 48kHz / 88.2kHz / 96kHz / 176.4kHz / 192kHz (only one)

WAV / OGG / FLAC / M4A / AAC / ALAC(M4A) / WMA / MP3 / WV

CDA (CD Audio, long waiting time)

Audio output unit required for this software includes devices such

as a headphone amplifier and a headphone applicable

for 88.2kHz and 176.4kHz, an integral multiple of 44.1kHz for

instance. Headphone amplifiers with I2S input interface with high

precision reclocking functions using XMOS chips for USB AUDIO

CLASS 2 are sold in Japan and Korea in the run-up to the world

market. “izo iHA-21EX “ owned by the developer was used for

operation verification of the software.

WindowsXP: need ASIO driver

Windows7: WASAPI (EXCLUSIVE mode only)

Windows7 PC need to support follows frequency

44.1kHz MP3: [x2] support 88.2kHz, [x4] support 176.4kHz

48.0kHz FLAC:[x2] support 96.0kHz, [x4] support 192.0kHz

96.0kHz FLAC:[x1] support 96.0kHz, [x2] support 192.0kHz

are you a robot

he's (probably) japanese, given his name and location

edit: good lord guys, could you at least try to give him a fair shake before making fun of his english

He's obviously trying to promote his free software that he developed; although he could do with a working link to it.

Interesting.

Off-topic: I only dabbled in QBasic, but I've never got to try PureBasic, which, I infer, is what you used to develop this.

Anyway, best of luck to you in the continued development of your software, sir, and thanks for making it free. :-)

Winamp is poor sound quality. It's for child.

Winamp :: Cheap sound

Bug head: Hi-end rich sound

Can you explain your reasoning as to why Bug Head is better and not just say it's better?

I've never heard of poor sound quality in a media player. That's usually the issue with the actual file itself or the speakers.

I would make fun like the rest of you guys but personally i am kinda interested in how much compatibility this program has with many different type of files and formats.

The only issue i see is a lack of compatibility with vista being listed.

Not everyone was lucky to buy a PC when windows 7 came out and got stuck with vista.

If you haven't already i suggest creating compatibility with both vista and mac's as well.

and good luck with competing with the already well established winamp you'l need it. (hence why if you get it compatible with both vista and macs you'l have more of a fighting chance)

It seems like he wrote some filters that will distort the sound a bit to make it "better". That's what I got from the OP anyway..

Not sure why passing waveforms through filters makes it "better" though.

He actually doesn't modify the sound at all. I just played a wav mix of mine on this thing and on Winamp; the only difference I heard was that this Bug Head player is louder.

In the first part of the post I am assuming SACD it referring to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Audio_CD

The easiest way for any DSP function to increase quality in the digital realm is to "Upsample." Which is the same as Oversampling that some people with find on Synthesizers. Although the claim for winamp sucking would seem to be overstated:

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=333955

Winamp itself can "Upsample" a sound source.

On a side note filters are used in the DSP process for Upsampling. ;)

digital clipping is definitely not "Hi-end rich sound"

So does this software change the tone of the music at all? Or is it intended as a 'loudness' maximiser?

The whole argument about increasing the sample rate seems a bit silly to me, since the quality won't actually increase. You are always guessing what will be inbetween, not actually what is there. The only reason for over-sampling IMO would be 1-bit DACs, but that is a different issue.
